In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry Tom of RarePythons.com

Since the db errors caused several posts in this thread to vanish here is a recap...

You should read up on them and then make a judgment on whether they done "good" by you or not... For the users of this site, they really do not have a "good" reputation so to speak.

First of all Tom from rare pythons is a new owner of that business since Chris Cassacci sold that business to him last year. So given the circumstances from when Chris owned it I don't think that tom should immediately inherit chris' bad name. Let him have a chance to turn it around.

And all things considered I highly doubt that Chris gave Tom full disclosure on the types of animals he was purchasing or perhaps he did and Tom is just keeping quiet hoping no one will realize it so fair warning still applies.

If that is indeed the case then he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

Personally,I would rather see him come on and say it himself though.

I know Tom personally and was there with him when he purchased the business, I can tell you for a fact he did not know anything of Chris' reputation before purchasing the business, it was only after people being rude to Tom because of what Chris has done previously that he became aware. He didn't receive that many snakes in the transaction and he now has a different stock entirely. He is a very good man, but everyone will have their own opinion on the matter. Perhaps I am biased because I do know him personally but it's a bit harsh to take out Chris' reputation on Tom who is a different person entirely and does things very differently.

and to Suncoast Herpetological I wouldn't expect him to comment here, he doesn't feel the need to have arguments that go nowhere, he's tried explaining he's the new owner but people don't believe him even though we live in Yonkers and Chris is up by Niagara Falls.

To the original poster, I hope you enjoy your snake, if you have any problems what so ever do not hesitate to contact Tom, he's more then happy to help.

That, of course, is his call Jessica. However, a simple post explaining that from the actual individual would go a long way towards distancing himself from the nonsense of the previous owner.

Your third party post does not have the same effect

If he did not get that many snakes, what exactly did he buy? The name, a storefront, a warehouse, some cages?

Dave

I'm very sorry, but if he's not in the same town, he's not using the same animals, and the reputation is trash because the first owner had a screw loose, exactly what is "Tom" getting from this buy-out?

After all the lies that Chris told, and how screwy it was, I wouldn't touch anythong associated with "RarePythons" with a ten foot pole, and have no inkling why anyone would pay money for a business, not keep the stock, not be in the same physical location, and all name associations are bad. Sounds hinky to me.

No offense if Tom is a whole new dude, but without any proof that Tom isn't Chris under yet another assumed name, I'll believe that there is a good chance that he is. If he feels no need to show himself as a different guy, that's his loss. My advice would be to ditch the name and website, but at this point people would probably still believe that he's chris, just trying to hide under a new name again.

I'm curious to know why someone would purchase a business without first doing the homework on the business? If all's he really did was buy the name, why didn't he first research the name? One of Chris's many BOI threads is in the first page results when doing a search by Google.

He didn't inherit it....he paid darn good money for that bad name. :shootfoot

So, Jessica, where exactly did this transaction take place? What did Tom buy?

Aaaah....It doesn't really matter anyway. If he's a completely different person who just happened to buy "Rare Pythons", he just skyrocketd to the top of my black list. If the company name did not send off warning bells, he doesn't have the first clue about what he's doing, or the industry he's just bought into. He has no desire to do the least amount of research into those with whom he does business, therefore he is unable to protect his buyer. I'm sure he's a "very good man", as we all know how they like to buy questionable businesses in fields about which they are ignorant, then lurk in the shadows when it's bought to their attention.

Kinda makes me wish "Rare Pythons" would get a whole lot rarer!

I've been at several shows the past few weeks IE Oaks PA, Lancaster PA, Manchester NH, and yesterday in Rockland Mas I've had lots of people talk to me and my name is Tom. What proof would be good enough? If anyone would like they are free to stop by my shop in Yonkers NY and i'd be happy to talk with them face to face. Chris has not had anything to do with Rare in about a year now.

I went to Niagara Falls to personally verify what I was buying. Spoke to Chris at length about his past legal troubles and the issues he was having. We came to an agreement and a deal was done. I am not going to discuss what was or wasn't purchased as it is a private transaction between 2 people.

Tom, you do not have to discuss jack! The question is going to keep getting asked though, until you address it. Personally, I could care less about you or your "business." I am sure you had your reasons for buying whatever you bought and keeping a name that has less than a stellar reputation in the reptile community. Sounds like you have a great business plan.

The transaction took place in Niagara Falls, NY Jessica was there with me as well as several other people. I've been breeding reptiles on and off for about 21 years now. I have lots of experience in the industry as a seller, breeder, wholesaler, and show vendor. You have never purchased a single animal from me so how would you have any idea about the quality of the animal or my customer service or anything for that matter? If you do not wish to purchase anything from me based on the company name that is your choice.
