    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I recently purchased an adult pair of whitesided bullsnakes from Tom Peltier aka Safari Tom. As soon as I recieved the animals I could see they were both males. I probed them to be certain, and was correct. I contacted Tom immediately with no response, all of my other emails were quickly answered except this one. I told him I wasn't pleased and would file a complaint through paypal, and then I got a speedy response. He replied that he would give me $25 credit and thats it, then proceeded to say that I was probably trying to get over on him. His ad clearly stated 1.1 ready to breed snakes and he told me he didn't guarantee the sex of the animals. Well I don't know about anyone else, but if I'm not guaranteeing the sex of an animal, I put unsexed. So if anyone else is going to purchase animals from Safari Tom watch out because he either burns people or clearly doesn't know what he's doing.
 
Well, it's nowhere in the ad or his site, so he may be thinking it but that doesn't help me much. Besides, I don't know about you, but if I sell an animal and someone isn't happy with it I take it back no questions asked. I recently sold a snake that was reasonably placid with me and the person that purchased it said it showed aggression. I returned his money and took the animal back. Now, maybe thats just me, but I would expect the same from someone else. Especially when its an incorrectly sexed animal.

Well, yes, I would expect this too. However, if he had posted anything about not guaranteeing sex before the sale, then he wouldn't be obligated to.
 
I agree with you Anthony.. An incorrectly sexed animal should 100% be returned.. No questions asked!! Assuming the sexes were gauranteed prior to sale or if the seller stated that is was "1.1 ready to breed" in his ad.. Do you have the ad? if so post it up..

Although, i do not agree that just because you would take back an animal for any reason that others should also... Every seller has their own set of rules that they follow and it is important as a buyer (and seller) to clearly state those rules PRIOR to sale..

Have you let Tom Peltier know that you have started this thread?

If he states 1.1 in his ad they should be that.If they are not then he needs to refund you your money and take the snakes back.

If 1.1 are advertised, then 1.1 is what the paying customer should get. Period.
At the very least, an immediate refund of the full amount of one snake is due, along with the expeditious return of that snake to the seller.

I feel the same way but he doesn't seem to care. Thats why I posted this, I'm not gonna let him keep on burning people, and if he doesn't know what he's doing maybe he shouldn't be selling animals.
 
Did you pay through Paypal?? If so file a buyers despute with them ASAP. Paypal will not refund your money because this was not an eBay sale.. But, they will contact him and lock his account until this is resolved.. Also, you should file a claim with kingsnake.com..

I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you responded to his 9/26 classified and paid $235.00, he should have told you then that the pair was reduced to $200.00 as stated in his classified on 10/4.

I hate to see insult added to injury - but if you paid $235.00 then you really got an extra screwing. If my math is correct, by offering you $25.00 as a refund, he is still making $10.00 more than the lowest advertised price than he listed for the pair.
 
I paid him $215, someone else wanted them(supposedly). So I topped them $15, my mistake I guess. I already filed the claim and he ignored it, so I know I'm screwed. I already put the snakes up for sale, I just figured I'd bust some ba@#s until I sell them. Makes me feel better.

WOW.. Now that's one crappy seller!! :ack2: At least it was not too much money and you have the animals to sell..

I know that I will NEVER buy from this POOR seller and I am sure others that read this tread will follow suit.

Thanks buddy, thats what I'm going for. I've been breeding and selling animals for a long time. From fish to birds, and ofcourse snakes , and I always strive to make customers happy. Not make myself rich, I do it cause I love it. I just don't appreciate it when I don't recieve the same respect. I know the price wasn't a life ender, and there's alot of people on here that were burned much worse. Its just a shi!@# feeling!!!
