In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Tommy T Radix, not cool

Purchased a Puget female for 500 dollars from Mr. Hamilton, possibly gravid. He then swapped snakes, without giving me a chance to agree to this treatment. He explained about a tail injury and how to feed her. Would have been good to know, BEFORE ship out. Luckily, she did turn out to be a calm snake. Did not look gravid. But, long story short, she gave birth to 14 babies. I was panic stricken and Mr. H urged me to let him raise them, saying that he has "tricks" to get them eating. I have all the FB conversations to prove out what I say. Foolishly, I shipped six babies in one deli cup and the same shipment. I was eager to work with him and was primarily worried about the animals. But I am no dummy and I am noticing the red flags about his attitude. He immediately complained, upon receiving them, that he had popped them and were all male. He also lost one, which will die. It has not been found. In our discussions about trading, a male blue concinnus was mentioned, because I was on the wait list to purchase it. But Mr. Hamilton began to demand the "other four babies that you OWE me." He used the rationale that I have broken my word. Well, yes, I certainly did begin to dig in my heels. I no longer felt comfortable letting him have more of MY babies. Mr. H was clearly angry and said that I "got her [the dam] for free." He offered a whole different type of garter (radix) that I just do not have and have no interest in at this time. Mr. H is perfectly content to leave it this way. I have not been paid for the shipping nor for the six hatchlings. I am making a long story short, but Mr. H is NOT a devoted, nice breeder. He is a wheeler/dealer who has decided to live off sales of reptiles. He took advantage of my newbie status. He is arrogant, unpleasant and greed motivated. Mr. Hamilton, you have lost a customer who could have paid you a LOT of money for years to come. You have lost so much more than a few more Pugets! And you don't even have the mind to understand this. --Nancy Mindlin

all i see is lies... lies... and more lies...

The trade agreement seems vague. There is no spelled out consideration to make this a binding agreement.

There is so much posted, could you please point out exactly where your offer to pay is, and how much?

Tommy. I asked you about the payment you offered. I did not see it. Could you please point it out? Or did you make that part up?

To me, Nancy owes no baby snakes. And kudos to her for getting her little babies to eat.

next time please read and comprehend the post before commenting and please try not to jump to conclusions this comment bothered me and still does

i don't even think she claimed she wanted anything in the op lol

The original post and its claims of anything wanted or not wanted in that post are not the be-all/end-all of the deal.

I think you have handled things very well (your character was directly attacked) and I understand your choice to enter a holding pattern. While I understand that choice, I am saying it might be a good idea to try to find some way to equalize the offspring situation and then cut all ties since the person, in relation to you, is a toxic presence. That is where I am coming from. A means to benefit you by extricating yourself from the lingering remains of a "leprous" deal. The holding pattern keeps bits and pieces adhering instead of letting you be completely free to put every part of this behind you. Of course, only you can decide which way is your best path.

Good luck, man. :)

I like the certified letter suggestion; type it up, print & sign it (keeping a copy) and mail it to her. In the letter, give a specific date she needs to answer by and your offer(s). If she does not answer by the specific date, her claim to any snakes/money is over.

Once that date has passed, post here to end this thread.

It's funny how she can comment on a post in which i also commented on before she did and i still get no reply to the numerous private messages I've sent to her.

A letter for what? She has clearly washed her hands of you and I suggest you do the same. Worry about your snakes and not her, she's nothing. I mean honestly, what can she do?! I realize that you owe her but you've clearly did the best you could, I would move on. Who's got time for her bs and failed slander anyways?

Wow, I'm definitely taking notes with these experiences before I decide to get into the business end of this hobby. People suck!

Take lots and lots and lots of notes.

Unless you're prepared for a dazzling amount of stupidity that may or may not taint being in the hobby for you, stick to the hobby end. Breed for your or the species' benefit, not the benefit of others.

Lot of idiots and whack jobs out there... and the internet gave them a voice direct to you.

This whole thread bothered me, and I don't even know any of the parties involved in the transaction or commenting on the thread.

I guess if there is a bright side to this, Tommy, ironically it has been some free advertising for you, and it has shown you are a good guy. Based on this thread, I now know your name, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from you. So at least for me, the crazy OP made a "Good Guy" post, not a "Bad Guy" post. :)

One more time and then I will never look back at this again. None of you would ever have gotten to know a more "NOT-for-profit, all-about-the-animals" person than myself. My reputation will come to be known, as it is in other animals. But so many people have chosen to take a side, without talking to me! This is grossly unfair and I have kept your names as never to deal with. So disappointing. Once again, VERY simply put:
(1) Paid 500 for a "possibly gravid" female Puget. Snake was actually switched without my prior approval, too! She dropped a litter of 14.
(2) It was MY idea to share the litter in an effort to make sure the Pugets thrived. Mr. Hamilton's attitude began to worry me, so in the end I sent six unsexed babies.
Mr.Hamilton says that they all proved to be male and he lost one immediately.
(3) Mr. Hamilton, himself, said in email form that each is worth at least $90 and I spent $77 shipping them. (Interestingly, he has been selling each for about $275) I was already on his buy list for blue concinnus. I told Mr. H that I wanted "blue garters" and did not want radix. Radix are another species and would mean a whole additional project in my snake room.
(4) Mr. H has chosen not to let me have ANY blues.
In sum: I do not trust him at this point to even send good snakes. I do not need more mouths to feed that are "bottom drawer" and not worth breeding.
Now, I have told this true story in order to help others. Do as you please. He has always had my contact info and could have fixed this in several ways but has chosen to dump me, completely. Any more comments will just be amongst yourselves. I will never come back to this conversation.

Got it. It's everyone else's fault here for asking questions to you or trying to discuss with you but they didn't talk to you.

Also, I always find it interesting when someone says "I'm the most all about the animals NOT FOR PROFIT" and then go on to say "that bottom drawer species is not worth breeding". Those two statements don't go together.

No one needed to talk to you. The conversation was posted in screen shots.

Those that make a final post and wish not to discuss it further, are always those in the wrong that know they have no good answers. ;)

Ummm, you posted this here then vanished like a month ago....should we have sent telegrams? Every BOI thread has a lot of questions and discussions, and you bailed out.

I think your reputation here HAS become known, and not to your favor.

She left it up to to me to post the proof of the transaction and she just posted proof of her character haha Guess she didn't like my "bottom drawer" "not worth breeding" garters i sent haha
If i would have not switched her female, she wouldn't have any snakes. The female she was supposed to get ended up having unfertilized eggs and as a result a few got stuck and she passed away. So again...had i not switched her out the garter would have died 6 weeks after it arrived.
As for me selling pugets for $275. I'm sold "blue pugets" the puget i sold her had yellow babies. My main breeding pair are high blues and had 19 babies which were all born BLUE. Blues are more desirable than yellows and sell for triple. The blue in pugets is a polymorphic trait and anyone who knows about polymorphism will say its not a garentee the babies will be born looking as expected. I sent her a blue that was bred by a yellowish/green male. She bought the garter for her colors not for the babies color because it wasn't 100% that she was gravid.
