• Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

OK, Looks like we are on the right road here. Yippy Skippy :) As for your offer Lucille, I wouldn't feel comfortable with that, But thank you for your offer just the same.
Yeah, it would really suck if something got "accidentally" deleted, wouldn't it?

Yeah I agree. A new forum is in order. If Rich doesn't want to donate the space, I'll spring the $50.00 to get it going. -Chris

Another group of contributors to consider including would be the people who bought the various animals and items from the charity auction. I believe between the cash donations, material donations, and auction buyers that would cover everyone involved.

What about if a kind person who has an "endowment" level membership were to give us the use of his as-of-yet unused member forum? It would have to be cleared through Rich first, of course.

I agree, Anyone that contributed towards any aspect of this should be considered.

Does someone have a list of who these people are? If not how do you suggest we round them up or verify that they contributed? Can the auctions still be viewed?

Shelly,
Wouldn't it be more appropriate to only include the people who donated the animals and items rather than the people who bought them? I won an auction(as you may already know) but I don't feel that entitles me to a vote. I won the auction because I wanted what was up for auction(although I haven't even watched it yet).

Cathy,
Who would be in control of this forum? I'm nominating you and Derek to work together and moderate it. Regardless where the forum comes from, I think it would work well with the 2 of you at the helm so to speak. You can of course decline the nomination if you want. -Chris

As an Endowment Member, one of the perks is a member forum. I haven’t had a need for it so I haven’t set it up but would for this need.
If you want it, I will ask Rich to setup the forum.

I wouldn't want to be responsible for moderating this particular topic and would ask Rich if he could setup moderating rights (for the time being) for someone of your choosing that is an good standing within this community to help with this situation’s particular issues. I would be more than willing to give Cathy moderating rights with the forum.

On a permanent basis, (if Rich would allow it) I would like to use my forum to help others in need within our community. I have been kicking around a few names for a forum such as this, but haven’t decided on one yet.

Anyway, if the majority of you can agree to this and Rich is ok with it, It’s an option for you.

In my opinion, a dedicated forum for this topic matter would be best. I will donate the space, of course. You all just tell me where you want it to be set up, who will be the moderator (keeper of the keys), what you want it called, etc....

I would think Zach would be the one to ask on this one.

Thank you, Chris....I would be more than happy to do this, as long as Derek is agreeable.

Dennis and Rich......thank you, both of you.

Dennis that is really nice of you, Thank you

I second that nomination, I think Cathy and Derek together would be a good team.

Just another quick suggestion....perhaps it would be a good idea to set up a single email address to field all of the email associated with this? A quick Yahoo address or something, with Derek and I both having the password to use it? Just thinking it may be easier to keep any correspondance organized that way.

Any thoughts on this?
