I remember the conversation but not when with Chris about the rack. I was told the T-stat fried open overheating the rack killing $100 - 150 k in co doms and hets. I do remember it was around the end of summer or so since these were supposed to be shipped to the folks complaining now . Last I heard from him about it the folks that prepayed were going to be notified of a delay due to the problem.

Once these accounts are brought back to an active status we must contact paypal in order to re-add these accounts as a funding source since they were removed once the accounts themselves were locked completely out of their system. After reviewing a post from another member I attempted to open another account to add one of the accounts just to confirm her statements and low and behold it was still locked out. I was hoping she was correct and it would allow me to expedite the process but I knew better.

Instead of simply adding the accounts back into paypal through its interface they must be contacted directly via telephone. When adding through the interface I was prompted with a message stating that the accounts were individually restricted from being added to their system and provided with a toll free number in order to contact them regarding the aforementioned message. Its basically a back and forth game providing the banks and paypal whatever they require in order to get things back in order. Once everything is kosher the accounts must be added to paypal again. Two small deposits per account confirmed, and then funds transferred.

You will also be required to return the specimens before any refund is issued. Any additional expenses encountered such as vet bills will be included as well, just shoot me over a copy of the report so I have it on hand. I am sure you probably sent this to the sales address but I do not have access to it at the present moment.

As I said before this takes time, and it is not as easy as opening a new account. I wish it were as simple as most describe but unfortunately it is not. I have every intention of correcting these matters despite your rude and derogatory comments. Such comments do not expedite the process but you are more than welcome to continue as it will fall on deaf ears. If the comments and harassment continue I will be more than happy to allow you the pleasure of reading the forums while other members report their future refunds until I feel that you have matured. You may believe what you like but I am in no condition to deal with more complications than this issue has already presented. Of course they are well deserved, I am not denying that but dealing with children's games while my hands are tied is certainly not something I am about to deal with. If you were able to understand my position perhaps things would differ. My only concern at this point is my recovery and the correction of the issues which have been left for me to address.

I am willing to ship the snakes to an intermediary to hold until I receive a postal money order or cashiers check. When I give this intermediary the go ahead he will send the snakes to you. No check, No snakes. This part of the transaction is non-negotiable, just consider it MY TOS. Because you have made an accusation that I was rude to a 10 yr. old girl on the phone, the fact that you called me ignorant, and the condescending nature of your emails, you will need to issue a personal apology to me on the Fauna Thread. This part of the transaction as well is non-negotiable. Your timetable is also unacceptable. I have been dealing with this since January and I am ready to be done with it, therefore I want a conclusion to this no later than Midnight Friday 5/12/06. How you come up with the funds in of no concern to me. Borrow from friends, relatives, sell your animals, I don't care. You have until 12 midnight tonight to accept the term outlined here, only then will I call off the Law Enforcement Agencies and the State and Federal Revenue Agencies. This will allow you to re-establish some credibility with these agencies and the customers that you have left holding the bag. You need to understand that you are no longer in the drivers seat on this. You must choose, but choose wisely. I will delay posting this on fauna until the midnight time-limit has passed.

How lame. I don't know why he bothers even replying, as it is just more of his endless diarrhea of the mouth. To those of you who have decided that the best course of action is to put your foot on Chris's throat and keep it there until you either get restitution or there is nothing left to be had, I believe it not only the course of action most likely to succeed if success is possible, but also the deserved one.
 
I know exactly when the t-stat malfunction was. I saved that chat because a guy was going on about how Chris only cared about the money, and not the snakes. We were told it was $150K in animals, only one was still alive but badly burned and wasn't likely to make it, and it happened on 7/6/05. I'll post the part of the chat I have if you guys really want...but it really doesn't contain anything useful other than what I've already stated.

I have a great reputation and excellent references (sutherlands , barker etc...) in the Ball Market, that he should not have a problem shipping to me first. So now Chris really wont have a Paypal excuse and we can see if he really has visuals, i know if it was me and someone offered to do this and i REALLY wanted to make good, i would jump at the chance...

If he agrees i will call you and him on 3 way and then put it all in writing... Lets see if he really wants to make good!

I emailed him your offer. When I mentioned that he could sell his breeders, he didn't seem to want to do it , it was easier for him to just talk about it.

You collected these peoples money. IT IS NOT THEIR PROBLEM THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE THE FUNDS TO RETURN TO THEM. So please stop acting like it is their problem because they trusted you. Of all the customer service options that Chris is choosing to handle this mess, this petty tyrancy of putting people on the bottom of the heap whenever they insist on their rights to their money or snakes, is the one which will follow him in whatever career he chooses in the future. People never forget, when they are treated in such a demeaning manner.
 
Bob, when you receive emails

like the ones I just read, it becomes very clear that someone or some body (insititution) has frozen his bank account(s) as well as paypal. That also means that he does not have the ability to open any new accounts either.

I dont know if this relates ot Chris personally or TSE or both , which I believe to be the case. What is also rather obvious is that he does not tell you how much paypal or is bank has frozen . So how can he make good on monies which we all know is non-existant.

I would not pursue any additonal conversation with him as I believe its futile, I would also continue to gather as much evidence and information , as I can get, and provide the proper authorites with it. The day will come when he will have to answer for many of these fraudulent activities, and once pressure has been squeezed into his head, I am sure he will be whistling a different tune,................they always do once they get caught.
 
Well I really don't have much to add to this mess. Just a couple points though;

On my "het" papers (which are signed by Chris Johnson) it says that the guarantee is voided UNLESS he is involved with the resale. When I read that I just thought it was a way of him to keep track of the het animals he sells. It's much easier to doubt the authenticity of the paperwork someone is holding if you've never sold them an animal, so with him acting as a sort of transfer agent with the paperwork, he could keep track of his hets.

I had also repeatedly asked for pics of the hets I was getting as well as pics of the parents and never received either. I got my animals in 2 shipments because someone didn't realize I had made multiple paypal payments and they only sent the animals for 1 of the payments. I think for some reason paypal had a restriction on the amount of money I could send at 1 time. Anyway, both shipments had mites. I e-mailed TSE about it and they said they had a recent outbreak of mites but they had it under control. 3 weeks later when I received the rest of my order they also had mites. Fortunately, these animals(as with any new additions) were in quarantine and the mites were taken care of immediately. I do remember the reply about the mites was signed by someone other than Chris, I don't remember who. Pat or Glenn don't ring a bell though. Has anyone else gotten e-mails signed by anyone other than these 3? My shipment was in April/May of 2005. Geez I hope these things prove out. This fall they'll be ready to go. -Chris
 
This has been pointed out several times in the past, but Chris's latest claim states that TSE now cannot function until his accounts are restored, and that this would require the claims against his accounts to be lifted. Once again, its the customer's fault. But even more ironic is that it was Chris's directions to his customers earlier in the thread to file these very claims, to avoid TSE being "double-charged" were he to issue a direct refund.

Chris, it is not likely that you are reading this. But if so, you need to read Dan's clip of your own words over and over until you get it.
 
I see that a few of the members had problems with tse this time last year (mites, shipping delays etc.) I wonder why no one brought this to light before on the BOI. Do you think it was intimidation or fear of retaliation or what. I think if these issues would have been brought up last year you wouldn't have as many people in this situation this year. I know a lot of people don't want to post stuff like that on the BOI if fear of politics or even ruining a good businesses reputation, but when these things happen we need to use the BOI more to get information out to people so they know there might be a problem.
Right now it appears the BOI is either used to say how great a company is or to crucify a bad one. I think it needs to have more of the "middle" ground to disseminate information to people with regards to all aspects of peoples businesses. If businesses are forced to answer for the small problems (shipping delays, mites) they may not ever get to the point of the really bad stuff (taking people money, giardia in animals, fraud ) what have you.
My point being, catch them when they are on the road to destruction not when they have become what we fear the most. The true "Bad Guys". Whether Chris turns out to be one of the true "Bad guys" or makes everything right remains to be seen, but we as a reptile community should and could have seen this coming if we would have gotten info out there in the early stages. I hope that all made sense to everyone, was not trying to critisize anyone but rather just trying to enlighten everyone as to how we can all help each other avoid this in the future.

Warning Level: 2 Excellent. You'll notice we ended up putting tubs of water (6qt sterilte shoeboxes) in front of the fan on the bottom of each incubator. It helped to evenly distribute the airflow. When we set up our first one Doug decided to put a seperate ESU digital thermometer on each shelf and we checked it about an hour from when it was plugged in and run for the first time. The difference between shelves was a mere .1 - .2 degrees. Perfect.

This is a post from Chris in the leo forum last yr. How perfectly orchestrated this scam seems to have been, he has "employees", but forgets their names apparently. He could have replaced "Doug" though. I just wonder how long this has been a scam, from the beginning? Maybe Chris was going to fade away last October via the heart condition excuse, so he let his stock of imported ball pythons deplete..he was going to cancel his ads and fade into our memories.. But DAMN, the money is so good, so easy..he just could not stop raking in the easy money. his plan started to unravel when he could not find nor afford nice 05' animals to fill his orders. He did have a couple pathetic ones with belly rot he could ship out,( he had to keep the ad money coming in to buy more, but now it is only "Pat and Glen' running TS, remember Chris is gone.....) he take those sick ball pythons and ships them out to Bob, who promptly take them to the vet....Here we are now. I think Chris had a "plan" that failed due to greed, but the fact that he has spent all of the money kinda makes you wonder "what did you spend it on Chris?" I have a hunch I know what he bought...

I think it is time for Chris to "CLEAR the WATER" so to speak.
 
Not that it matters, but when i received an order of Leos from Chris last year it was "Doug" that i spoke to on the day before i got them about the shipping and then I spoke to Chris the following day when he called me to make sure they came in ok. Also when I won one of the "charity" auctions on the site it was someone else I spoke to to handle things, I dont remember the name though as we were only on the phone for 1 minute.
