In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Trade went very bad...need advise

David,

I know snakes as well as other reptiles And I have shipped many large Boids and that size box seems definitley small for that many animals of that size. I ship a single snake that size (9ft) in a box like that them self. and the rest in other boxes. Hell I ship all my animals with a lot of space in the boxes. I am not trying to make something out of nothing but that does seem a little cramped to me for all those animals. I am wishing you the best of luck and truly hope this situation gets over and done and everyone is happy very soon.

David
Can't call it crazy....call it concern for the animals
I am sure he would have said something on the condition otherwise. His silence on the condition tells me he is happy with them.
It just seemed like next to no room for that many animals.
23lb snake ..three others..and two 5" torts.
We all know the condition of your animals,,,sorry for that[mostly for those poor geckos]
I hope you get your snakes back

well... like i said his geckos are on the way back to him...this will be over if he returns my snakes like he said he would
David pollard

David,

I hope you aren't saying that you have already sent his geckos back WITHOUT confirmation your snakes have been shipped? Did Aaron/Gavin/Erin/McGillicutty give you any kind of tracking or confirmation number on your burms?

no..as of yet he has not shipped them to me but what else could i do i don't want these sick geckos aroung my animals and he wrote a e-mail saying if i sent these he would ship mine....i know its risky shipping first but if he don't send mine back his name would be totally ruined..surely he don't want that to happen..and besides i would have legal grounds against him if he keeps my snakes
david pollard

he's still avoiding me

David, why don't you post his contact info here (phone #, mailing address, email) so that noone accidentally does business with this guy after he changes the name of his now infamous business?
Chris Raden

Hey MPI, I thought the camera was supposed to add 10 lbs?

oh my god..an animal in that condition can go through the physical distress of egg laying?

how could anyone let anything alive get to that state?

kim

As far as tracking down the truck, it is possible, and they will tell you where it is. I once had a blood dragon en route from Dragon's Den, and missed the morning drop by about 5 mins. I called the terminal, they contacted the driver, called me back to tell me where she was headed, and I met her there and picked up the dragon. Just clarifying on whether or not someone can track down the truck. Don't have anything to add to the rest of this.

Piss f***ing Poor!

That is truly horrifying!

MPI, you should be extremely ashamed of the condition of those animals. I have seen plenty of adds for animals from your company. A few I almost responded to. Even your add wanting to know of bad traders. You belong at the top of your own list. Add me to your list you are keeping too. I never want to trade or buy anything from you.
I have noticed your presence here, so I am sure you are reading this thread . By you not responding to this situation speaks volumes about how you conduct business. If there possibly could be a legitimate excuse for this happening, youre not handling it like anybody I ,and others I deal with, would do business with. Trust me, word travels fast when it comes to situations like this. You tarnish the whole community. Shame, shame, all my contacts will know your name.

P.S. I too was hesitant to jump to conclusions about this deal, but you have had ample time to rectify or tell another side to the story.

:(

O wow. This is the same company that posted that ad in every classified section in k-snake? I actually responded to that and told them to always avoid Taron Langhover and actually referred them to this site with a recommendation to post an inquiry before making any trades. Kinda ironic, huh MPI?.... Go ahead and add yourself to that list. What on earth would posses you guys to ship animals in that condition? That just blows my mind. How did they even get like that? You either sent some geckos that are really sick, and have risked the buyer's collection, or else you have about the worst husbandry skills I've ever seen. I'm guessing it's a combination of both. Seriously... it's just crazy to me that you would even think about shipping those. You had to know the customer would be dissatisfied. And this one just happened to feel like doing something about it I guess. Good luck, cuz you'll need it now.

Kick me in the a$$!!

Lucas... Your post says it all! I referred him to this site for the use of the BOI, since I saw his ad as well. MPI if you really thought those geckos were healthy and fine to ship, I'd hate to see what you think is not healthy!!! As others have said, you ought to be ashamed of yourself!! Get out of the hobby!

Bob

Hey Guys.... let's at least give MPI a chance to send the snakes back?? The geckos should arrive today, and the snakes SHOULD BE SHIPPED BACK ON MONDAY for a Tuesday delivery.... why don't we just relax a while as to not make things worse for David??

As for the shape of the geckos.... I think Karen Carpenter looked fat compared to those kids! Really shameful!
I've got MICE with fatter tails!

....Neil

David,
I realized another mistake of mine.
I did not know you were shipping large snakes.
I thought you shipped little itty bitty baby ones.
That is why I was harping on the price.
But now that I know they were large snakes......$75 is definately about right....................My apologies again

I'm shooting myself in the foot with this, but isn't it usually advisable not to trade for leos?
(spoken by someone who only breeds leopard geckos)

Well if you WANT leopards, then you trade for what you want, right?

I read that earlier this morning and my first thought was pretty much identical to yours Rob, why wouldn't anyone trade for leos if they wanted them?

The answers that came to mind were; they don't hold value very well because of the speed at which new morphs breed out to become fairly commonplace, they are prone to a few problems that aren't always immediately apparant (Impaction if kept on the incorrect substrate, bone deformaties if kept on anything hard and impossible to injest, coiccida (someone correct the spelling?) and so on) and... Leos aren't usually high end long enough to make trading for them too worthwhile... Just buy them if you like them. Take Blizzards for example... three years ago they were up there in price, minimum was about $350 if I remember correctly... Now they do sell for well under that, usually around $35-60 depending on age. Because of temp sexing and a quick rate of growth and reproduction, morphs drop quick... It's worth breeding and selling them but not really worth trading away future projects for something that will have so little monetary value in a year, from a dealer-breeder standpoint anyway.

Not sure if that's exactly what he meant but it was all I could think of as possible explinations.

That's exactly what I meant, but now add to it the fact that any 12 year old (except maybe Patrick) could breed them.

I would think long and hard before trading with anyone whose reputation did not procede them, especially when leos are concerned. It should be apparent from the pictures [if they are to be taken at face value] that you don't need to take even minimal care of your leos to breed them.

I would not trade a more valuable commodity for a leo displaying a recessive trait. It just doesn't make sense, seeing how fast the prices drop. Buy one from a reputable breeder.

And again I shot myself in the foot, because I work with every recessive trait except for one variety of albino :D

horrible

first off this is what juvie blizzards should look like......
10636502-2017-028001E0-.jpg

second of all let me chime in by saying those animals are disgusting looking!!!! i would be afraid to have them in my home. i can understand davids compassion for them and wanting to get them hydrated and what not but not only do they look malnourished they look chuck full of parasites. third of all trading for leopards geckos is not a bad thing i am going to link you to my album and all geckos exacpt for the first six pictures and the last few hatchling pics were traded for. And those are not all of my geckos. I have very healthy geckos and they have been that way from the time they arrived. MPI, you should be down right ashamed of yourself, however i am sure you aren't. fact is you're prolly pissed cuz you got caught. oh well people like you need to go roll up in a corner someowhere never to return. sorry for my words but the condition of these geckos sicks me and that fact someone can say they had just laid eggs or whatever even sickens me more. my females that just have laid look nothing like that. sick

Steven,

I agree that from a strictly long-term monetary standpoint, trading a higher-end project for a group of leopard geckos(of any morph at this point)is not exactly the smartest move, but if that is what David wanted, then there is nothing wrong with it. As long as both parties think they are getting a good deal and are getting what they want, let them trade anything and everything.

But in this instance, based on what I know about the value of albino burms and sulcattas, to me 7 blizzards seems about fair(of course 7 normal HEALTHY blizzards, not those crap ones)as the blizzards are running anywhere from $35-75/ea.
