Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Trade went very bad...need advise

Thats OK, I went ahead and researched it all anyways. My calculations mean that Davids grand scheme to rip you off only profitted him $175. For someone so smart to do all this, I think he could have come up with something more profittable. Especially if you try to put a dollar amount on his credibility and reputation if he were to get caught. Let me know if you have questions on my math.

Unbelievable

(MPI's "healthy" examples would normally look like neglect. Why is it so far fetched to believe he sent out the geckos david is claiming?)
Those animals are not Un-Healthy. They are not sick, and I thought that was the main issue. Granted thay are not as awsome looking as Kelly Hammacks, but they are nowhere close to the condition that were in Mr. Pollards photo. They were exactally as the photo showed on kingsnake. In fact one of them was actually in my photo on kingsnake. Check it out for yourself. It would be in the gecko section, and I beleve some one posted my photo in this thread somewhere.

(And MARKING? Oh please. Get the people who suggested this practice to come to your defense, I'm sure they're really good references.)

My list of prople I have delt with, you have mostlikely delt with some of these people also. I never said that the people on my list marked their animals. I only stated that you might be suprised at how many people do it. Like I said it causes no harm to the animal. As I stated in a prior post the marking has more than one reason. I use it for health reasons, for telling animals apart, and finally for making sure the animal is mine. It comes in real handy with animals like the Mellers Chameleon (who is monomorphic) in telling their sexes. Males get one dot, while females get two dots. With the Mellers I mark their tails.

Quote by John
(And what was the reasoning you mentioned: To not give the same Cham two doses of medicine by accident. Do you mean you keep a sick animal with healthy ones? That sounds like a good practice for an honest breeder...)

Of course I do not keep sick animals with healthy animals. If fact when I have a sick one it goes into a diferent room on the other side of the house. Keeping the sick away from the healthy is rule number one when dealing with reptiles. What I was saying is that it is good to know when you have treated an animal with something and where. I do get W.C. Chameleons from time to time, and as a rule of thumb they all get treated with dewormers right away. At this point they are in quarintine for at least 30 days. I am going to use the Mellers again for my example. After I am sure they are healthy they will go into the general population with other Mellers that may have not all sold yet. Without some kind of markings it it real hard to tell one Meller from another. Your first batch was treated three month before the second batch. It is not very healthy to treat an animal more than once or twice a year for parasites. The dewormers can really mess up the insides of the animal. When I sell the animal I can tell the buyer when the animal has been last treated. I have over 300 anamals here, and without some kind of system it can be easy to make an error.

Hope I answered your questions.

ok...i'm glad i'm home now so i can respond...first i want to say Aaron i can not believe you would come on here and say the bull your saying....you and i both know your lying...first his comparison to the value was his was 350 retail and mine 375 wholesale..i 'm getting shafted there, value mine at retail also and i'm losing...next i would like a good answer for this one, if the geckos were marked like you said why didn't you ask me to take a pic of their vent and post it here...you don't have a answer right????? you didn't ask for that b/c you know the geckos i showed pics of are the ones you sent me...if you had asked for that pic and your telling the truth that would have cleared everything up !!!! so tell me again why you didn't ask to see a pic of their vents???????????? also you received your geckos back yesterday at 10:03 and sent me this e-mail

You package received, expect delivery on Tues

thats all the e-mail said, now the day after this you decide these are not yours, PLease, ..i'll answer the other questions he still has my snakes and torts...

i own 7 geckos , thats all and if anyone wants to come see my snakes and my few geckos come on over and you don't have to call first to let me know your coming , that way no one can say i'm hiding anything
my address is
687 zion church rd
easley Sc 29642

also he trying to say i just happen to have 7 blizzard geckos 4 adults and 3 juvies just like his that was sick so i could pull a fast one.....well our deal was 3 adults and 4 juvies , i didn't know he switched one juvie for an adult till after he had shipped...so i would how i made my extra juvie grow to adult size that quick

ok , now this can be checked out also ...i order a male blizzard from K&N reptiles Tuesday...i talked to them pesonally and told them i had 7 females on the way and no male ..so they sold me one...i ordered it while these females were on the way to my house....guess i jumped the gun huh..

bottom line if i sent you something that was marked and you showed pics that i say was not mine, i would tell you to go take pics of the vent that was marked and post that pic to prove my innocents... you didn't ...no you couldn't do that because your lying!!!!

Brians math

I never claimed that any of this is reasonable. How much would he have lost with the condition of those geckos. Without medical help they didn't stand a chance. Vet bills, Meds, Time to rehab. How much did he get them for in the first place? Wholesale would have been 350.00, retail would have been 500.00 -600.00 out of pocket. A 175.00 gain is a hell of a lot better than a 350.00 - 600.00 + vet bills loss. Coccida can be a mother to get rid of. Two weeks of meds min + the time it takes to get the animal healthy.

your changing thing again huh
in one post you say they are worth 350 retail now your saying 500 to600 retail ...make up your mine..
David Pollard

Aaron

Aaron,
Have you spent that much already on the four you say you can rehabilitate? You said you started treatments on them today. I take it your vet has already examined them and prescribed treatment? You got a coccidia screen back that fast?

David,
What kind/sex/size are the remaining 7 you have left in your collection? Do you have pics of them?

Answer to Mr. Pollard

You saying that I am lying is like the kettle calling the pot black.
My comparison to my animals value being 350.00 to your animals value being 370.00 were both on a wholesale scale. The same scale. You might want to get your facts right before you post.

Quote from David:
(...next i would like a good answer for this one, if the geckos were marked like you said why didn't you ask me to take a pic of their vent and post it here... you don't have a answer right????? )

Gee lets see.... How hard would have it been for you to put the dots on the vents of your sick animals and post the photos on this thread. You had both sets at this point. If I would have said hey by the way I want you to check the vents of the animals and take a photo of them, you would have surly looked at the animals I sent you and found the markings. My markings are not hard to reproduce, only hard to find. So I guess I do have an answer.

(you didn't ask for that b/c you know the geckos i showed pics of are the ones you sent me...)

The Geckos I sent you are in my photos. I have no clue where you got the sick ones.

When I got the package I was very upset with you to say the least. You are lucky I sent you any email. That is more than you deserve. Because I said that I would give you some kind of conformation I gave you an email. Hell yea I still have your animals.

The fact is you knew before I shipped because we spoke on the phone before hand. I guess you forgot about that, just like you forgot that you showed me two photos of the same animal, in the first you clamed it was dead, and then later you claimed it was very sick, and finally you posted on here claiming it was an adult breeder. For all I know you could have 10 and 10 of each maybe more. I do not really know. When we started talking about this trade you wanted more of the Blizzards. You kept offering more animals of yours for trade, and I was the one who put the limit on the trade.

Hopfully this thread will prevent the same from happing to them.

I have Albon-Roche(Sulfadimethoxine) on hand. I took a swab myself, and put it under the microscope. I have delt with Protozoans before, and have a small drug store in my hall closet. I do not know if you have ever delt with coccidia, but there is a certian order that the fecal has. It is a smell you do not forget. The animals had a strong order to them when they arrived. This gave me a good idea of what to look for under the microscope. Coccida can be hard to see unless you are looking for it even at x400. It is best to do a direct smear when looking for coccida. In this case it is not costing me anything but my time. The only real concern that I have is that the animals were dehydrated which can make treating for Coccida very rough. I have to really keep an eye on them. Saline injections daily help.

Bad answer aaron....if you told me to take pic of the vent i would not have known what i was taking a pic of ...so how would i have known you mark them with a marker... good try !!! your stupid story does not make since....i just happen to have the same exact sex and sizes of yours to trade you sick one...get a grip and quit trying to come up with these crazy stories...you need to read what you wrote again before you answer you wrote yours as retail and mine as wholesale ... no way you can get on here and change it ...read it again!!!!!

Aaron,
Is coccidia an illness you encounter often? You do seem to know allot about it. When is the last time you have had to treat this problem? Give specifics please. What animals? How many? How successful? Why would you feel the need to keep the meds on hand? What other methods did you take to make sure it didnt spread to anything else?

aaron do this ...you told me you sell to all the pet stores out there and you said here you mark all your animals ...give me and everyone here the names of your pet stores...i have a good friend that lives in sacremento that would be more than glad to go to one of these pet stores and see if the geckos from you all had these marks...i'm sure someone from here would go look also , b/c theres alot of people in Ca that do reptiles

I do not run into Coccida that often. The last time I experenced it was about 6 months ago with 4 Bearded Dragons. I given them form a local guy because they were not eating right and loosing weight. I was able to save them all, and it a while to get them back up to weight. After treatment they were kept from the rest of my animals for about three months. They were checked again before rentry. Why do I keep meds here? Have you ever seen the size of the bottle that the sulfadimethoxine comes in? They use it for cattle. There is enogh in there to treat a 700 lb animal for two weeks. It has a long shelf life. As for the other meds I have, I get some W.C. animals from time to time. It is always a good idea to have metronidazole, and fenbendazole, and ivermectin on hand. Like or not most wild cought animals have parasites.

Local Stores

I would be more than happy to have someone go visit one of the stores in my area. In fact I have on more than one occiasion tried to get people to talk to people who I deal with. The only way to do this is to pick someone that nether one of us knows.
If I send one of my friends that wouldn't be fair to you. If you send one of your friends that also wouldn't be fair to me. If some of you want to call and talk to some of the people feel free to email me at [email protected], and I will give you contact info.

David

Have you ever encountered coccidia? Did you know the gecks you sent back to Aaron had this problem? Notice any order(odor) while they were in your care?

Steven Beckerman

You are right this whole thing stinks. I have had to smell it for four days now, and nothing would give me greater pleasure than to make this a distant memory.
