    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Beware of Tribal Reptile Co. I lost money dealing with them. No this is not a joke. And don't believe what they tell you. I purchase 2 hypo milli in the summer from them 1 came with a detach tail and the other one died 2 days later then it took them 3-4 month to send me the replacements and I never got them AirBorne lost the package and since they didn't offer shipping insurance at that time nor it's an option on there web site at the time of purchase, I lost $542.00 on that deal. I try to work with them and it was like we got your money so f$^%& off. I have all proof of what im posting and will be more then happy to email it to anyone who don't believe this. Tim Samra the owner got all proof that Airborne did loose the package and he still refuse to replace them. He even told me he's not suppose to ship live animal thru airborne or any other delivery service unless it's delta dash and if they found out that he did ship live animals thru that service he would loose the airborne account. So be very careful getting anything from him. please don't hesitate to ask me for the proof I have email and photos to prove it the same one's I sent to the owner of Tribal. <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':angry:'>
 
Airborne Express and UPs both allow live shipments. I have paper work from both says so.

Then he lie to me again then, what a b$%^&^. He had me summit a fake invoice to airborne because he didn't want them to know he ship me live reptiles and he would get in trouble.

I have been shipping airborne for a few years here in Texas and the rules here clearly state "No Reptiles". But they will ship amphibians and live fish !!! I have called them directly to get the most recent and updated version of the standard operating procedures or rule book and they always say the same thing on accceptance of live animals. Not to say it is the same everywhere but this came from the Airborne Express Main Hub. So you might want to call 1-800-Airborne and check the current guidlines IMPO.

Just for reference purposes. I deal with Airborne myself, their "official" policy is that they do accept some live animals.
This is an excerpt from their statement of regulations, irrelevant parts have been edited out:

Acceptability of Shipments for Transportation
C.   SHIPMENTS ACCEPTABLE UNDER SPECIAL CONDITIONS

7. Shipments of tortoise, frogs, non-venomous insects, live fish, and crustaceans only under the following conditions:  

a. Such shipments must be boxed or crated so as to prevent escape, insure safe transportation with ordinary care in handling, and assure protection to any person handling the shipment.  

b. Compliance with all laws, ordinances or government rules and regulations governing the transportation of live creatures.  

c. Airborne Express assumes no liability for the conduct or act of the animals to themselves or to each other, such as biting, kicking, goring or smothering.  

d. Sender must provide a letter absolving Airborne Express of all liability for loss, damage, or delay of such shipments.  

EXCEPTION FOR GDS: Shipments of tortoise, frogs, non-venomous insects, live fish and crustaceans are not acceptable for GDS.  

D.   SHIPMENTS NOT ACCEPTABLE

9. Live birds, mammals, snakes, lizards, bees, or other animals except for those which may be shipped subject to paragraph C of this rule

This is just a statement of the official corporate policy of Airborne regarding the shipment of live animals.
 
But still....regardless of how tribal ships, the shipment was LOST......they know this, yet they won't take any responsibility for it?  Bandito....(you have to use you full name or this thread will get deleted) did tribal give YOU a choice of shipping terms?  If they had and YOU chose Airborne AFTER them telling you it's against policy, then you ARE just as responsible.  But if this is Tribal's normal policy (to ship through airborne WITHOUT permission) then that's just bad business.  Why would they ship something with a company that doesn't ship it?  

All I'm saying is that Tribal has PROOF that the shipment was lost.  Why are they punishing Bandito for their bad decision.  I know all the facts are not on the table yet, but if this IS the case, then Tribal DOES owe this person SOMETHING.  

ONLY SHIP DELTA.....PAY FOR IT AND PICK IT UP YOURSELF....that's the way I prefer to do everything, and I have yet to have a problem with it or even HEAR about a problem with it......

No they didn't ask me how I wanted it ship to me they just sent it thru airborne without asking me nor did they ask me if I wanted insurance on the package. I got a few geckos from a privite breader and he refuse to use anything but delta dash which I was so happy he did because the animals arrive in great condition. I think when anyone uses anything else there taking chances that there reptile might arrive DOA or get lost like mine did and companies like TRIBAL REPTILES will turn there head the other way. <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':angry:'>  This is the funny part the driver told them that I have a driveway and discribe the rest of my house to Tribal and guess what I don't have a driveway and I took pictures of my house and email it to the owner of Tribal Reptiles Tim Samra and he still refuses to do anything. Then he ask me for proof that Airborne sent me some kind of settlement and I did it was for $100.00 and they didn't pay me for the full amount because there was no additional insurance on the package and the max is $100.00 and Tim still don't want to replace the reptiles. What more proof does this guy want for god sake....

I have never purchased from them before and now I will look elsewhere.

I copied this from their shipping page:

Animal shipments are shipped Airborne Express over night to your door.
Live arrival can only be guaranteed when temperatures in route are between 40-90 degrees.
All Dry Good shipments will be shipped UPS Ground. For an additional  charge packages can be shipped via Airborne Express next day.
We are not responsible for carrier delays. Claims due to carrier error are to be handled by the carrier, and are not the responsibility of Tribal Reptile Co.

Insurance on your package is available at added expense and must be requested by you before we ship. In the event of a claim Tribal Reptile Co. is not responsible for the speed or conditions of the claim due to policies of the carrier.


I think it clearly states they are not responsible for claims due to carrier error. They do however not give you the oppotunity to have the shippment through someone else. It also clearly states that you can purchase insurance on the package for an added expense. I think you are at fault for not reading the fine print and they are at fault for the first ones dying when they do guarantee, but their liability ended when the carrier lost the package. You folks here can decide.

They just added that to there new website. If you would had look at it before they rebuild the site you would had seen what im taking about. This happend to me before the website was redone. 7/31/2001 was the first shippment I got from them that 1 of the milli had a detach tail and the other 1 die few hours later. Then they made another shipment on 10/15/2001 which I never got... It's been an on going battle with them about this so now they updated there website to include what you saw. Beleive me it was not there before.
 
Hey it's true what bandito said they did do there website over like a week ago I was on there before they updated there site about 3 month ago because I was going to order from them and that stuff that T.C. Serpents put on his post was not there before about the insurance stuff. Hey T.C. did you see there website before it was done over or after because they just put it up like I said 1 week ago. Hey bandito great post now I know better then to order from them especialy when they don't give you the choice of delivery service I myself get retiles sent thru (delta dash) and never had a problem.

This has been discussed before but I think it is worth another go around.  I think that these claims about not being responsible for carrier delay or error are BS.  If you take a person's money for your product, you are responsible for making sure that that person gets the product they paid for.  Plain and simple, They sent you money for your product,  you have an absolute obligation to get them that product.  Is it your fault that the carrier lost the package?  No it isn't, but the point isn't regarding who's fault it is that the package was lost, the point is who is responsible for getting the product to the buyer?  You are, the seller.  The carrier lost the package, it doesn't matter.  You did not, fulfill your obligation, the package didn't arrive (or arrived late and the animals were dead) you owe replacement animals at your expense, or a full refund of every penny the buyer sent you.

Now if you and the buyer can come to a compromise, so be it, but the buyer has no obligation to accept anything other than full replacement, or full refund.

I know that this is not the most popular notion with most of the shippers here, and most will have some sort of disclaimer regarding carrier delays.  Like I said, it's BS.

hi steve ,yes i cound not agree more.buyer sees add ,sends money up front,puts 100% trust in seller gets nothing but a run around for his cash? no plain and simple not cool.
if a claim is to be made against a freight company i fell that the seller should be the one to do this ,mostly on good faith and to go that little bit extra that keeps customes coming back.besides a company or person that ships a fair bit gets a heck of a better response to claims than a person who just recives one package.

Here is the truth about what happened. Luis did order two hypo U.milii from us. We shipped him two and when they arrived one was missing a tail. He claimed the second animal died so we decided to replace them. We did this forgoing our normal policy of requiring the dead animals be sent back to us.

We then shipped him two more geckos at no charge. He claims that they were never delivered. Airborne has assured me that the package was in fact delivered and is going to issue me a statement that states exactly that.  Luis cannot provide any proof that he did not receive the animals. I however have assurances from Airborne that the package was in fact delivered. Our shipping policy clearly states that you must be home to sign for your package. Either Luis was not home, or he was home and still has the geckos.

It is possible that Luis Vasquez/Harvey Rodriguez is in fact the same person. Check their perspective profiles and see that they both joined the BOI on the same day within hours. It should also be noted that Luis Vasquez was banned from Kingsnake.com for posting derogatory and slanderous statements on their forums. He was also banned from Kingsnake.com for posting under multiple aliases.

Your such a freaking lier you try this on kingsnake saying that mulitple crap you know your company screw up and I do have proof of it so does Tim your boss you guys are a bunch of rip off artist and by the way Im not banned from kingsnake.com I have the post running on there also.  So your saying all this to discredit me and it's not going to work I have all emails and picture here for anyone that wants it the same one I sent to your boss the crook. Look at the picture yourself Mr.Crook where's my driveway the driver said I have stop the BS already and amit that you guys rip me off. I have it in black and white even the BS settlement airborne sent me wich was $100 because you guys didn't provide additional insurance. Now your guys have a new website since last week and now have the option for the insurance. If airborne is so sure they deliverd the package then where's my signiture show me that. And by the way your boss Tim told me not to ship the dead gecko back to him so get the story straight.

If you require them to sign for the package, then Airborne express will have his signature and will beable to supply you with a copy of it.

However if you do not, Airborne has delivered stuff of mine to the wrong address (justcomputer parts, so no big loss, later recovered them through a friend.) and claimed they have delivered them. If you dont have proof they were delivered, then you should refund.

If you paid by credit card, call your credit union/bank and ask to file a dispute. Claim non-delivery. They will send you a form to fill out. Fill out and return it asap. Include as many details as you can. They will refund your money.

Just for the record, both Luis Vasquez and Harvey Rodriguez are using the identical IP address in their messages.  It would be my opinion that they are one and the same person.

I would be completely within my rights to delete this whole thread because of this probable breach of ethics, but I think letting it remain is more within the intentions of the goals of the BOI.

The blade cuts both ways in here.
 
I am not taking sides, there was obviously a misunderstanding somewhere.  
The fact is, even when a shipper requests that the carrier (whether airborne, fedex, ups, or usps) they don't always wait to get it.  I have had several shipments where airborne had the little box checked that said to require signature, and they simply ring the door bell and leave, not even giving me 20 secs to get to the door.  USPS seems to be the best, if you ask for a signature they almost always will get one.  So that said, it is possible they did deliver and it got stolen, on the same token, it is possible that Mr. Bandito has them in his garrage, or numerous other possibilities.  The only way to know for sure is if Airborne has the signature.  

Once again, I am not trying to take sides, as I don't know the whole story, but I do know it is possible for either side to be correct.

Chris or Tim (which ever one of you two is on-line), Steve Schindler is 100% CORRECT!! I don't care WHAT you have as a disclaimer! It's called ETHICS and MORALITY!! He PAID FOR live animals INCLUDING shipping! He got the first shipment, which you agreed to compensate him for....the second shipment was "supposedly" lost by Airborne! IF THAT IS THE CASE....Chris (or Tim), you OWE HIM, either, his MONEY BACK, or REPLACEMENT ANIMALS!! END OF DISCUSSION!!

On the other hand...IF they WERE delivered....you should have TWO airbill numbers that you could post HERE! Really, Chris...How can someone PROVE they WEREN'T DELIVERED??? Tell you what...PROVE TO ME that YOU DIDN'T go to the bathroom today!! Can you see how ridiculous that question is?? But, the fact remains...if you CAN PROVE that the SECOND shipment was delivered and SIGNED FOR....Tribal WINS! CASE CLOSED!! ....Neil
