In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hypo Burm

That's a great looking snake.

Is he het for Leucistic, or simply a very light (hypo) burm?

One other thing...why does the price keep going up? :)

she is as far as i know a very light hypo burmand the price went up because originally it was a misprint and i had my partner change the price for me and when i check it again it was still not what i was asking so i changed it again i appologize for the changes

you got any pics of the eyes and sides that looks like a normal light colored burm in shed, can you provide better pics? were did it come from? het for lucy as far as you know? true hypos are 4-5kea i would tend to think youd know

Hypo

In the big picture, any animal that's obviously lighter in color than the norm can be described as being hypomelanistic. Obviously there are degrees of hypomelanism, and those degrees of difference are what makes one hypo "worth" 5k and another "worth" 1k.
Exactly like a painting. A guy who loves it and has the cash might pay millions, and another guy might think it's garbage and wouldn't give you a dime for it.
As the seller said (sort of), it's NOT from the hypo line that's het for leucistic. So what we have is a light burmese. Kinda pretty, I think. $1600??
That's for a buyer to determine.
Rotsa Ruck.

this implies its from the genetic line. A truely honest dealer would label this a "hypo looking" burm not a "true hypo" people like to use these terms loosely to try and swindel unsespecting buyers, pretty snake no doubt but aplying hypo into the sales pitch is bull, bottom line any snake could be a poss het for whatever per definition, is it honest if you breed two normal snakes to sell those offspring as poss het albinos or just poss hets, well if your disshonest i guess thats tyhe way to go but an honest dealer doesnt have to miss use labels

Hypo

Jason, you're right about that "true hypo" bit. I never even noticed it, but it does imply that the snake comes from a known line of hypos.

im curious what your excuse is for the price tag? $500 would be extremly high so what makes the value of this snake the highest ive ever seen now that weve determined its not a true hypo?

I think VinnyButch said it best, in his posting.

I have an 8' female that's lighter than the one pictured and keeps getting lighter and more yellow with each shed. She was purchased for $100 from a pet store, as a normal Burm. I hate buying from pet stores, due to bad quality but when I saw her I knew she wasn't just a typical normal Burm. Do I think she's hypo, no...do I think she might be het for albino or something?...I hope so.

A selling price is all about what the seller thinks said object with worth. Some people will disagree and I'm sure there are others that will think whatever the asking price is fair.

im just asking why he thinks $1300 is a fair price what makes this animal so special? i think its a ligit question, if you didnt see the the ad before it was changed the header said "true hypo burm" he changed it to say "true hypo looking burm" so between the price and way the ad origanally read it looks like someone was trying to rip off unsespecting people, if thats not the case my question is a very fair one what makes this animal worth the asking price, honestly i think it would be benificial to him to explain what justifies the extremly high price if he really wants to sell this

also yours being light in color doesnt mean its a het ive seen hets extremly dark and light colored, the color of the animal doesnt mean anything with recessive traits, some het granites with have a busted up look to their pattern but this isnt true with all het granites nore does it change anything with color

And that's why I stated that an asking price is all what the seller thinks said object is worth. I don't think he'll ever sell it for what he's asking, but who knows. He stated maybe he shouldn't have said "true hypo burm" and apologized. Doesn't seem to me as someone trying to swindle anyone...just a mistake in using a certain phrase.

You go one place and they may have a car for $10,000...you go to another place, in the country and they'll have the same car for $5,000. It's all about what the seller thinks is fair, etc.

And, I didn't say mine was het. I said "I hope so" but I'm not holding my breath. I don't buy anything, when I'm looking for het, that isn't guaranteed 100% het.

i didnt take it as you said yours was a het, i thought you said you hoped so cause it was light in color i was trying to point out to you color has nothing at all to do with being a het

as for the price i was asking for an explination of what you described why did the seller feel the animal was worth the price, i dont think thats to much to ask, and asking what he is for that snake i feel he owes any potential buyer an explination of why it is so special to warrent that price, my opinion that he was trying to con people comes from his avoiding answering that question, of course he didnt change anything but raising the price till he was called on it so the way the ad first read it apeared he was selling a "true hypo" now of course anyone who has worked with true hypos knows better so hed be foolish to argue once called on it but i fail to see how that price could ever be justified i could buy burms that size that look exactly like that all day long fore $100 or less, that size right there is the typical size cute little baby burms outgrow people who arent prepared for their true size that dump them once they get to large, i get a dozen phone calls a month for burms that size(of course rarely are they morphs) that are anywhere from that light to extremly dark, i see burms like that one at shows all the time(i do 4-6 shows a month) for $200-300 so what makes that one worth $1000 more then any honest person would ask for it is all I want to know, now either you can keep trying to justify this for him or if hes anything but a con hell answer this himself and stop avoiding the question, IMO he would have answered it first time i asked it if he had a ligit reason
