In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Last year, for the first time, my hog island boas copulated heavily...but nothing came of it. I put them together again back in November (I think); but they'd shown no interest in one another until a few days ago. There have been some serious wrap ups that I didn't want to disturb, and I'm more hopeful about the results of their current activities.
I did take a few shots today, not great pics, as I didn't want to be too intrusive; and I didn't want to break the mood, so to speak.

Good luck Brother! Hope you get a large litter this time around.

BTW, is that male still young? Just curious. He sure does have a pale background color. Like his adult colors haven't kicked in yet. ???

Either way, he seems up to the task at hand. Hope it goes like planned.

The male is......... an 05 (or maybe an 06, lol). I'd have to do some digging to get a definite answer. (The girl I'm sure of...she is an 05)

As long as I'm trying again - here's another one.
This is Cass. I've bred her twice before, and gotten two loads of slugs. She's had a couple of years off, and she's now looking very gravid. I can't say she has an attractive glow about her, though - she's all dark and ugly.
(I hate the urate stained paper....but I also dislike moving gravid females unless I have to.)

This is an older photo of her, looking a bit better during cage cleaning (that's a VE-175 tub...pretty much as big as a 4x2 cage)

I pretty much just let them do their thing - didn't pay much attention to sheds, didn't see ovulation. I'll either see some signs, or be surprised one morning, lol.

Actually, I checked her with a doppler a while ago (no idea whether it was 2, 3, or 4 weeks ago - its all a blur), and didn't hear anything...but I was planning on rechecking her this week.

Nice. That would make a good suprise. Hopefully she does not give you anymore slugs. Good luck with her Harald

Last year, I plotted things out, had due dates for both boas....and they just had babies when they felt like it. (That's why I didn't bother this year)

The doppler says there are at least a couple of real, live babies in there....
