In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey guys, its me again.. this time i have another question.. i recently recieved a ball python that has been malnourished.. really bad!!!!! The owner an idiot (sorry it upsets me) fed his ball python 2 mice every month and half to two months.. now he finally has come to turn and is giving up his ball python to me so i can care for it and get it back to health but im afraid.. The ball is 10 years old he has had the ball for 8 of the ten years.. so it was underfed for 8 years at least.. now i have only had her for one day so far and she has eaten one small frozen thawed rat..He usually feeds her alive mice.. She ate it with no problem when i dropped another rat in their she did not eat it.. Do any of you guys have any tips or help to get her back to feeding normally quickly or is this gonna be a long process?? i will post pics soon.. itll probably be the worse picture of a malnourished snake youll see.. anyways any help or advice will be greatly appreciated thanks a bunch..

If she is taking a small rat weekly then I would say she is feeding normally. Just keep offering her a small rat every week. I would not want to offer a malnourished Ball big meals anyway, she may have a hard time digesting medium rats or two smalls. Stick to the small rats for the foreseeable future.

Snakes have a slow metabolism and it will take time for her to completely recover. Just get her environmental aspects correct, warm side about 92, cool side about 82, 50% humidity, and keep them small rats coming once every week and you should be ok.

Keep in mind it is going to take many, many months to get this snake back in peak health. So be patient and do not expect big changes overnight.

Thanh,

You didn’t even mention what size of a rat you fed him/her. As Sammy says that’s probably enough, particularly on a snake that’s been used to be underfed for years.

Regards.
