• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

TSA patdown of 8 month old baby

I hadn't seen that one. I don't know what I'd do if that were one of my kids. I know what I'd say I'd do, but would I? We travel out of the country quite a bit, and if you have a large sum of money invested in a family trip, what do you do? On the other hand, someone touching my child like that, brings out those 'mom-instincts' to protect your child above all else.

Take family trips closer to home. No flying needed.

Remember the good old days, with the family packed in the car, frequent rest stops, seeing the sights? The good old days.

It beats being sandwiched between two 300+ lb people while your partner is six rows back getting coughed on by someone with the frickin' plague while your still trying to shake off the filth of a pair TSA hands and all you want is a cigarette.

My kids can't even make it to the grocery store in one car without fighting! :ack2: We need those 300 lb folks to separate them!
When I was a kid, we drove from Mo to FLA in a car without AC. And we were happy to do it!

Not for long. I forsee teleportation technology advancing greatly in the future. We can already teleport photons... why not people. Beam me up, Scotty.

:raspberry

ok mister, good point!

When I went to Europe I promised myself to return and I dream of going to a HAMM show one day... AND my best friend moved to Australia, she would kill me if I didn't go visit her in the next couple years, she's been back to see me twice already and keeps telling me I suck for not making it out there yet.

I prolly suck too.... but I live my life on principals... and I wont submit myself to the TSA's BS! If I cant get their by car then I dont need to go.

TSA also told Congress that they weren't going to do invasive pat downs on children under 12.

Should be no one under 18..anyone younger should be considered molestation...
if security measures have to go that far, then they should just call air transportation quits..
We worked COMPLETELY fine before airplanes..forget the corporate d-bags of multi-trillion dollar businesses..they can wait an extra day or two for someone to arrive by car, or communicate via webcam, telephone, any of the other billion forms of communication at our disposal.

It saddens me to know that this country has gone from a group of people that stood up for what was right to a bunch of pricks that could care less about their fellow American..in just a couple hundred years...this is the same kind of crap that we left the king of Britain for. High taxes, and abuse of power...and what are two of our major problems with this country's leaders?

Do I smell another revolution?

i like flying and next year i am going to have to do a lot of flying looking for a house in cali while my husband is out to sea here in ga. but these pat downs are taking it too far. the only reason why he have them is because people got scared and for as long as they are scared that something might happen these will continue to go on. what happened to the dogs that can smell explosives? what are they being used? you have half a dozen dogs going through the luggage, another half dozen sniffing people. that would work just as well wouldn't it? i mean there are dogs that can find termites, bed bugs, drugs, and even cancer! why can't these same dogs be trained to find explosives in airports? they are trained to find them along the borders. i know a few people are allergic to dogs but compared to the amount of children/teens who fly i think using dogs would be safer and a lot less intrusive.

i mean there are full body x-rays when people are already afraid of cancer why not go the full shabang and use the dogs as well. i would rather have a do sniffing me than dreading going through the metal detector and being taken aside because they think i might be hiding something.

yes there are a lot of sick people out there, using children, babies, their toys and what not but when we get to the point that we are so afraid of them that pat downs are required of "questionable" individuals we have come to cross roads. we either give up our individual rights for the whole or we find new ways to protect the individual and the whole.

quite frankly i would rather see a bunch of dogs walking around the airport than some security guard putting on rubber gloves.
