After 37 years in our backyard pond in the Bay Area of Northern California, our western pond turtle (Clemmys Marmorata) died. We're considering the purchase of another western pond turtle - an adult or possibly a hatchling. We are not interested in a western painted turtle.
In reading the descriptions of the available western pond turtles on this website, I'm unfamiliar with the classifications such as 1.0, 1.2, C.B., C.B.B., proven male, etc. Where can I find a table or summary of these turtle classifications/descriptions?
Secondly, how are pond turtles packaged and shipped to ensure the delivery of a live, healthy animal?
Any information would be appreciated.
