I was reading an article the other day that said that if a turtle is moved out of it's territory (say from one lake to the next) that it will spend the rest of it's days trying to find it's way back to the original territory forgoing food or even mating until it either finds it or dies trying.
I thought this was a bit extreme. I mean, many turtles adapt very well to captivity... why not the next lake? The article also alluded to this being the reason for many of the declines in population (the removing from one territory to another, not captivity).
I'm wondering what ya'll think on this?
