ok every one belive what you want but i came out and told the truth! i admitted my mistakes and said i was sorry for them. as for a pattern i have no idea what you are talking about ! but i am telling you everything i wrote is true! so why dont we just move on about this !! it doesnt seem fair that i keep getting bashed for telling the truth? i dont know if al is out to ruin my business but it seems so! but you all can see how mature her is . he wont give up he is like a little kid. never once do you see me bad mouthiing him. and that is all he has been doing to me. i was real nice to you al im my earlier posts . i dont see why you cant accept the truth . is this you idea of fun? going around and ruining peoples reputation? well habe fun im done with this wholr thing. i told the trth wheter you decide to belive me or not is up to you. but as of now im done writing on this board i just get more angry at all every day with him trying to run me down and thinking he knows everything! well evryone that has dealt with me in the past knows the truth so if you get a chance please show al we not bad guys to deal with.

The thing is... you had to be caught before you told the truth, if you actually have at this point...

There still exists a question about multiple log-in names and there exists a question as to why you had a friend post an inquirey rather than a good guy post if he has done business with you in the past.

Sometimes, it doesn't matter if a person has good animals, good shipping, decent prices... Honesty and integrity are more important.

You, Brandon/Jesse essentially wrote inquirys about yourself(yourselves?). Other people really would tend to question your motivation for doing that... it's falsely building your reputation, trying to give a false impression that you had done more successful business than you had.

That's dishonest.

The basic mentality of most customers and a lot of BOI participants would lead them to shy away from dishonesty more than from a neutral or non-existant reputation.

Apologies are nice, when they're sincere. A lot of people will give you some trust and acknowledge that people make mistakes and can learn from them. Others will see your apology as being dishonest, as was the original action and fail to trust you anyway, because you have a history, however small, of dishonesty.

You really might want to simply settle back and wait... you have acknowledged your mistake, be it sincerely or not... People will continue to question your motives for a while though. It's difficult to forget lies, misrepresentation of identity and shady behaviors overnight.

If you really are honest, your reputation will speak for itself as you complete actual transactions. If you are not... it will speak for itself then too.

I asked you to come here and explain yourself, and I thank you for doing that.

However, the reason you're still being jumped on is that your explanation makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Your friend, Jesse, has the screen name "hisser", which he'd never posted under. The first post that "Hisser" made was signed by you. So he had a fauna account, but had never used it. Do you see the problem there?

You say that when you asked most of your satisfied customers to post, they couldn't or didn't know how. You apparently didn't ask Greg. At any rate, if they "couldn't" or "didn't know how", how were they going to answer the inquiry that you posted under "Hisser"? Why not just have Jesse write a good guy post, so that when someone did a search on you UNDER EITHER NAME the good guy post would pop up on the results?

Brandon, I agree with Seamus. You seem to be making a bad situation worse. You showed poor judgment, dishonesty, and a desire to manipulate. Admitting what you did is one thing, but trying to justify it is quite another. Take your lumps, and try to re-establish your reputation on this board.

Everyone makes mistakes, both in judgment and actions. You sound like you're a young guy, so you've got plenty of time to live this down. Good luck to you, and please just learn from this.

seamus--- thank you for the post i appreciate it. it opened my eyes to a lot of things. you are right there will be people who still wont do business with me, but like you said there still will be people who do. the ones that do will realize everyone makes mistakes. and the one i made being a little one shouldnt hurt my business too much. it could of been worse i could of shipped some one animal told them it was one thing and have it be another or ship with no heat packs or something you get the idea. but thank you anyway i really though about some stuff after i read your post.

terese----as for the whole jesse thing. like i stated before he had a account with fauna but never used it. all he did was look at the classifieds so i used it sometimes to post about people i have dealt with. i hope that clarifys things.and jesse couldnt post a good guy report because we have never done business.And you are correct i could of and should of had greg post for me im sorry

The only reason this was started is because I knew something was up when I read this supposed "Jesse Howe" post.
It didnt help that I remembered our conversations in the past either.

Brandon, I considered asking you what you have to say for yourself, then realized I wouldn't believe it anyway at this point.

It's disappointing that you've made these choices, Brandon. With this new information from Ritchie, I am hesitant to refer to these choices as "mistakes". There is a difference between making a mistake and exposing a major character flaw. You've done the latter.

What I don't understand is why. I don't see anyone posting about bad animals or service from you. Heck, Greg sang your praises from the beginning. I can't determine if you were simply trying to get some additional business or if you just wanted to feed your own ego. It makes no sense to me.

What I have determined is that anyone who behaves in such an underhanded and dishonest way can have the greatest animals on the planet, and I still won't buy from them. Period. Unfortunately for you, I think many people in this industry feel the same way.

One last bit of advice, and it's genuinely in your best interest: don't open your mouth again on this site unless you wish to be entirely truthful. You're not dealing with children who don't see through smoke screens. It will only get you in deeper to try to lie your way out of this one. I am still under the impression that you're a young guy. I have children in their late teens to early 20's, and I'll tell you the same thing I tell them when they do something ridiculously stupid: if you're big enough to do it, you're big enough to own it, learn from it, and move on.

Well, after everything that's been brought out by Al and Ritchie I have to say I'm disappointed in Brandon's actions to say the least. As everyone here is aware I use this board often and take it very seriously. As previously stated I've not had any problems with and do trust Brandon in our dealings. I don't, however, condone his actions here at Fauna. Regretfully so, I must retract my support accordingly. Brandon is indeed young and learning. Hopefully this will prove to be a valuable lesson to him and he'll grow from this experience.

I Have dealt with Brandon and his partner for a long time now and have NEVER had a bad deal. I have purchased many herps from them and have been treated with honosty and respect. They have come to my facility on a few occasions to purchase feeders and were very respectful to my wife and children.
I disagree with dishonesty but I have to say, The childish bashing that goes on here is totally unneccessary.
Now let me explain my opinion:
Before all of this, noone had any problems with twinstate and they were actually developing a good reputation in the reptile industry. These guys are located in rural New England and local reptile sales are not enough to support a business.Internet dealing is where 75% of sales are done so its not like you can visably see your clientel grow. Im sure these guys were getting curious about what people thought about them, thats not a crime to my knowledge. I dont know for sure if this "jesse" is actually brandon but either way,Brandon apparantly thoughtlessly decided to post a inquary about himself. Granted, I dont think this is the best idea but I dont think it was a big deal. I personally feel confident in my own reputation and my animals represent my reputation,BUT if I was looking for peoples input on my business then I dont disagree with an honest post asking for references.
Brandon obviously got busted by the great detectives that maticulously watch for crooks. When he was confronted he apparently tried to dodge out and come up with a good excuse. This would have been a good point to fess up and admit that you just wanted some opinions on your business.
Brandon HAS now fessed up, apolagized and is trying to hold onto a little bit of dignity. Hes a young guy that made a bad decision. Have we all become saints now? None of you have ever told a little white lie that just snowballed? I am not trying to justify dishonesty but I would like to remind people that we are all human and sometimes people make bad decisions. How would you like brandon to make this better? he has apolagized and asked for forgiveness. What would make everyone happy??

I have spoken my piece and You all are welcome to your own opinions, thats the beauty about this country. I personally will continue doing business with TWINSTATE for many years to come. I am sure that this little ordeal will be forgotton in years to come and these guys reptiles will speak for themselves.
My only advice for brandon would be, stop replying to these threads! you fessed up, apolagized, now just let people do with it what they will. Oh,and be honest.

I believe the problem people are continuing to have is with the apology itself.

While he apologized, he also continued to state that it was not a login name created by him, which can potentially be viewed as a denial of culpability to some degree.

People have some pretty convincing albeit somewhat circumstantial evidence that this might be the case, which calls into question the motives once again and leaves many readers wondering exactly where the truth is.

Sotra one of those... once can be forgiven, twice becomes questionable, a third example of dishonesty or misrepresntation of identity crosses the individual threshholds a lot of people have for dealing with that sort of thing.

Is Jesse real and is Brandon telling the truth now or has he at any point?

I have no idea and no real opinion... but it's not really illogical for others to see inconsistencies and simply accept them. It's also harder to accept the truth when it's coming from someone who has, for whatever reason, innocent or malicious, been less than honest in the past.

The best bet for Brandon is to come completely clean if he hasn't already and after that, simply allow his animals and customer service to speak for him until this is forgotten. If he already has, then he should skip right to the second portion.

I posted this because I seen something amiss. I dont think 2 or 3 user names is the end of the world, but the trail of lies that followed did more bad than anything else.


I understand that Brandon may be young, and that to me is great. I am a younger guy, and have had a passion for animals for some time now. A bad decision was made, and he tried to lie to cover it up. If the pattern of lies stops, im sure this will die in time.

Alot of people here (myself included) think that a person that lies is as bad or worse than someone who has had problems with DOA or poor shipping etc..... When I look to purchase, one of the first things I look for is honesty. If Brandons animals are what they were described as in other posts im sure he will have a good reputation down the road. Im sure that when the lying stops, the BOI paranhas will go away.

I like to play golf with people with whom I do business in "the real world." Partly because I just love to play, and partly because I want to find out what type of person it is with whom I'm about to enter business.

I cannot remember names for anything, but I have a weird quirk with numbers. I know my score, your score, and anyone else's just by keeping a running tally in my head, no matter where we are in a round of golf. So, if someone is lying about his/her score, I know.

You may not think that lying about a golf game is a big deal, but it is to me. You see, if a person is willing to lie about something stupid, I have no choice but to assume that he'll absolutely lie to me when the chips are down!

That's where Brandon has made his mistake. It is course and amatuerish (sp?) for him to be making inquiries about himself. It is lying for him to do so under a psuedonym. It is bald-face lying for him to say that he hadn't done what we knew that he had, and now no one believes anything he says. Well, small wonder!

Brandon may be the nicest, most respectful to women and children, owner of the classiest reptiles in the world, but that means little to me when his shipment is running late, or the DH I bought from him is about to lay eggs. In the back of my mind, all I would be worried about is that fact that he is a known liar, and that's just the way it is.

I appreciate your loyalty to TSR. You seem to know Brandon better than most of us, and it's good that you can come here and give us a glimpse at the bigger picture of Brandon.

I believe that in this thread you'll see that people have made reference to the fact that Brandon is young, he's made a mistake, no one says he has bad animals, just made a bad choice. If those are the actions of piranha, then so be it.

However, Seamus is correct. Brandon's apology was indisputably filled with other untruths. That is a problem for people. No one has said that he's made an error that will never be forgiven or lived down. No one is crucifying him.

Now, on to what Darin posted. Do you not see his reasoning? If you've never done business with Brandon, and this is the first glimpse you get at how he handles his business, is that not going to influence your purchases from him?

The problem for me personally is that there were other avenues for Brandon to use to get feedback or a good guy post on this board, yet he chose to take the quickest (and let's not forget dishonest) route to do it. Then he concocted another false story in the form of an apology. Again, not good.

If Brandon continues to have great animals and give great customer service, then his business will thrive. Unfortunately, he chose to put a stumbling block in his own way. He made that choice, not the people on the BOI. We all make choices, and we must all live with our consequences. Brandon made his bed, and now he must lie in it. C'est la vie.

I agree that I would have a lack of trust for someone if they had lied to me in the past. I by no means agree with lying or misleading anyone.
One of my biggest points is:
He is accused of logging on with another user name to inquire about his own business. You caught him and he denies this. I understand the problem. In my opinion this is not grounds for 5 pages of bashing on the BOI. When I refer to the "paranhas on the boi I refer to the people like the gentleman that who calls brandon a "ferret" and are trying thier best to defame this guy for one error in judgement.
This Supposed lie did not involve any money, any reptiles, or anything else of value. It was a pointless and bad decision that reflects greatly on him. Isnt there a more adult aproach? like posting that this guy has lied and point out where,if he denies it then thats his problem. as you say,"he made his bed now he has to lay in it". So let it go, we all get the picture and if people feel he is unworthy of their business, thats brandons loss. at this point I think people are beating a dead horse.

I think after the apology was exposed as a lie, there was no continued "bashing", just some advice to Brandon. All the other replies were to you.

Anyway......points have been made, and I'm pretty sure this issue will be going to bed for the time being. No harm, no foul.
