#1 Shipping. He shipped $XXXX worth of animals in an unlabeled, unventilated box, with no indication or "Live Animal" or any Lacey Act documentation. Add a Hot Hands hand warmer to the equation, as well as ill-fitting Styrofoam. He claims to have used SYR, but followed none of their guidelines.
#2 Mites! Both animals came in with mites, but he denies they're in his collection. I have his animal isolated in quarantine, so they definitely came in with the mites. He also believes mites can be eradicated overnight, so I would not trust that he follows proper protocol in treating mites (if he even treats at all).
Suddenly, it makes sense why they had multiple meals with him, but came in lighter than the original posted ad. Ad showed 150g for the male, weighed in at 113g with me. He has also stated that he's downsizing approximately 15 females from his collection, so I'd be leery of where they go...
Communication was solid until I brought up the issues, then his "brother this, brother that" takes a strong turn.
I asked for a $30 refund for mite spray, which he agreed to, and did follow through on.
Just because you have high end animals does NOT mean you have a high end collection. HUSBANDRY IS KEY!!
