In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I used to watch UFC. What has pulled me away is that it is no longer a fight between fighting styles. Now each fighter studies so many different styles that I have lost interest when Joe Blow is trained in the art of jujitsu, karate, kick boxing, tae kwan do VS. Billy Giff who is trained in the art of kick boxing, karate, hwa rang do, judo, tung su do.

I loved seeing the Gracy family with their Brazilian ju jitsu fighting against the Sumo wrestlers. Or tank Abbott take on a scrawny kick boxer. Watching a karate master go againts a street fighter. These were the good fights.

Those were some awsome fight were a feather weight would fight some heavyweight........~sigh~........!!!

I've been watching that stuff since #1.
like junkyard, I like the early years. Really was no holds barred, no bitting and no eye gouging were the only rules. Most of the fighters wore no gloves, and the ones trained in martial arts wore ghi's (I understand why it's better not to wear them, but it just seemed to add a little style or class to the fights). I loved watching the small Gracie beat these bigger fighters with the grappling. I was kind of disappointed when he retired, because people were training to be able to grapple, and I would have liked to see him fight people with his same tactics. Still you gotta give the Gracie family props for that style of fighting, and "introducing" it to a wider audience.
They have added more rules in order to be able to fight in more states, and get to a bigger audience. Still good fighting, just as long as they don't "soften" it up anymore.
One of my favorite fighters is Dan the beast Severn awesome dude. I like the ones considered "good guys" who "seem" to have respect for the fight game and especially their opponents, like; Couture, Shamrock, Hughes. I don't like ones that "seem" to have no respect or are @ss :censored: like; Nick Diaz, and Tito Ortiz, though for some reason I did like Tank Abbott even though he was a s:censored:t talker. No doubt that some of them this is a manufactured image, could be Liddell is an @ss and Tito is the nicest guy in the world, who knows.
Love both Couture and Liddell, but I'm gonna have to go with Liddell, he just brawls, and Randy is getting up there in age.

My friend's girlfriend rented a room from Tank, he was pretty cool and would give my friend tickets to fights once in a while. He was a monster though, he would bench like 400 pounds, yet he never really worked out. Kind of like the owner of Orange County Choppers, super huge guns.

I remember one fight between Severn and Shamrock, Severn is an amazing fighter. Watching him, a beer gut flabby guy take out Shamrock, a freak of nature in out of this world shape. What a match!!!

Cool. I don't have to be dissapointed anymore. They just announced that Royce Gracie, who won the first 3? (back when there weren't even weight classes) UFC battles, has come out of retirement to fight Matt Hughes. Awesome. I don't know that Gracie has a chance to beat Matt, but it will be great to see the one and only Royce fight again. He (well the Gracie family) basically brought grappling to Ultimate fighting. would love to see the grappling/submission master hold his own against the "new breed".

Chuck liddell is gonna kick butt monday !!!!

Im excited...
Sorry to break it to you... but Diego Sanchez is over rated.. He beat Nick Diaz in a close match, but will never be the welterweight champ. Too much talent there...
Trigg, Riggs, Hughes, St. Pierre, and Nick Diaz are all above him in my opinion... He is 16-0 because a lot of those came outside of the UFC... He is wayyyy to arrogant for his own good. He'll talk big talk and get KO'd soon. I can feel it..
The best ultimate fighter TV show fighter to come out is Forrest Griffin. Kid is a beast. Just the raw natural ability is incredibly. Nate Quarry is also very good. Just wasn't ready for a title shot.
Here's my Lidell Coture 3 predicition... Lidell KO's Couture late in the 2nd round.

i think Lidell will take it..he's hard as tank! :)

I've got to say Nick Diaz has got too much attitude, way too arrogant for my liking! Makes me want to jump in that ring and bop him on the nose :) Hehe..of course, he'd proceed to dismantle my 170lb frame ridiculously quickly from there on..and I'd wake up in the ICU with cheek bones fuzed together and my lips kissing my tonsils :D

LOL! He might have an arrogant attitude.. but look at Diego Sanchez. Kid doenst shut up...
Maybe one day Ill be in the UFC lol.. Im wrestlin now, and gunna box soon enough.

Unfortunately, all UFC has come down to now is boxing and wrestling..what happened to the all the Japanase martial artists who could take down a raging lion with a wrist lock??? Where has the ju-jitsu gone?!!!! (no, not brazillian!)

Eh, it's tough now. I mean, the skill level has gone up considerably in the UFC... I mean, the Heavyweights really can't rely on Jui-Jitsu, because while they are locking in that wrist lock, they get hit with a brick on the end of the other guy's arm...
People like Tank Abbott aren't skilled fighters.. Just back alley brawlers. He was on Fight Night the other day, against.. crap can't remember the guys name, a real young heavyweight, and the guy submitted him real quick. Just because all Tank does is throw punches..
The old Jui-Jitsu is Brazalian isn't it? I thought it's always been Brazalian.. Royce Gracie is a Brazalian Jui-Jitsu expert.
Anyways, how can you say its "just boxing and wrestling"... Have you ever wrestled, or boxed?? There is a lot more to wrestling than tackling eachother, and a lot more to boxing than just punching eachother.. Besides there is still a lot of submissions.. A good fighter like Chuck Lidell, Rich Franklin, Matt Hughes they can beat you standing up, they can submit you, or they can just outlast you.
There is still a lot of jui-jitsu in the UFC.. Just look at some of the takedowns, and reversals..

I was refering to Japanese Jiu-jitsu (sure we can get into a debate which came first ;). Brazilian JJ is more ground-fighting, whereas Japanese JJ was designed for more stand-up fighting. I think 9/10 fights that I've seen lately, it's just been a pure slug fest throwing punches, especially the heavyweights, although the smaller guys tend to be more technical and go for the submissions.

Heh, I love different weight classes for different reasons...
I love the welterweights for their speed, quickness, and usually amazing wrestling.. If you've seen the Diego Sanchez v Nick Diaz fight, you'd know what Im talking about.. That was a crazy wrestling match..
The Middleweights because thats where the best variety of skills are.. Big enough to hit hard, but light enough to be quick..
Light-Heavyweights because they are the best boxers.. Most power w/ quickness.
Heavyweights- because Im a Greco-Roman wrestling fan, and thats the style of wrestling most seen there...
Besides.. the UFC is great anyways.. Last Japanese fighter I saw got completely destroyed.. Looked like he hadn't fought anyone outside of his own country in his career.. Didnt have a single bit of stand up, and we'll never know about his ground game. The only he spent on the ground was when he got knocked out... I've never seen a lot of great Japanese Jiu-Jitsu..

This may be a little off topic..but is anyone else disappointed that the impending Bernard Hopkins-Roy Jones Jr. fight fell through? At least there's still Morrales-Pacquiao 2 to look forward to. I like watching the little guys go at it.
