    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

I've never done business with them, but if you do a search, there are numerous posts. They should help. Sorry to hear of your bad experience.

They have posted some really nice animals. This winter is really going to be particularly hard on those that don't have experience with shipping in cold weather, and don't follow flawless shipping practices (boxes + 40h warmers). Depending on which carrier they used the hub was very likely quite cold overnight, not to mention temperatures at origin and destination (which were?). Precut styro-lined boxes are not good enough for this kind of weather, it's far better to go for the one-piece cooler type (1" thick), even if it's recycled.

you got it pre cut styro only1/2 inch thick box way too big and only 1 heat pack which was cold so no help there.:angry:

Have you let Ryan know about this yet ? I go to the shop often and he has always been a stand up guy there or at shows. Voice your displeasure to him and I hope he makes it right by you.

I just received an order from them this week. All the animals were packed adequately and arrived in good shape. The females were bigger than expected and locked up with my males that night. We were a bit cold on this end (less than 32 degrees F) and everything arrived in great shape. They've been added to my list of dealers I will continue to buy from.

Nice quarantine practice!

Judging by the fact you've posted on this thread, I'm guessing that you've read the multiple stories regarding diseases, and bugs that are so easily transmitted? It's people like you whom spread disease throughout the hobby.

Let's stop this tangent before it gets any further....
This thread is about Underground Reptiles, not about the husbandry practices of a satisfied customer.

glad to hear others have been pleased i am not out to bash them just simply stating the facts that happend to me. and when i contacted them they were not very helpfull gave me bad info on breeding size and also stated that my snake could have a cold not a RI from the poor shipping:shrug01: fogive me if i am wrong but i hought they were one in the same?

P.S. no the person was not the owner but do not rember their name. i have heard good things about the owner its just too bad i seems he is the only good working there

I ordered from them for a pet store I work for. I have to call the owner on Monday, but so far...... Very Bad.

I will post Monday after I talk to him.

Ryan, this box is a TSK box with insulation. We used a single 40 hour heat pack because using more than one could easily overheat the box. We informed you these were field collected and these are breeder size. In no way have we dealt with you deceitfully.

Chris, as far as your complaint goes we have been happy to work with you every step along the way. And have ignored none of your calls or emails. We initially refunded you for a missing salamander and will be refunding you for a missing frog which you informed us you were shorted on 3 days after you received your shipment. I also understand that clerical errors were made over the total of your order. And we experienced mechanical problems with our fax machine which inhibited us from faxing you the invoice. This in no way reflects the quality of the animals you received and our desire to help you. I really do not understand why you were so quick to post on the BOI for issues that are currently being resolved. In the future please give us adequate time to remedy any situation. I'm sure you, as everyone else, understands that mistakes are sometimes made but a truly good business seeks to address and fix them as fast as possible which we have.

Ryan,
It was perhaps a perfect storm of bad events that made me come to a hasty conclusion. You in fact were good to deal with and it tuned out fine after some time. I do however reccomend you make sure an invoice is sent with every wholesale order while it's in the box. It can be very frustrating in retail to not be able to sell because you don't know exactly what you paid. But I do apologize, I was way too offensive in this situation, but unfortunately somtimes you gotta be that way. I do regret it in this case. The animals were A++, and all is well in the end.

Chris-

I just bought a Western Hognose from Underground. I couldn't be happier, and I absolutely LOVE this snake. Eats, drinks, poops, pees...healthy, fat little bugger. The people I dealt with were Rian himself, and his son-in-law (who's name I forget...Austin? Tyler? I don't know), they were SUPER cool. I went to the store and bought him there, so I cannot comment on the shipping situation. I CAN say, however, that the folks over there are good at what they do and most of them know their stuff when it comes to the herps they sell. The times i've been there, all the animals that had food in their cage (pretty much everything except the snakes) were eating...that was one of the most impressive things for me. Everybody was in a decent sized enclosure, and everyone was CLEAN. I would absolutely buy from them again.

I have known rian for many years, he has top quality animals and Is a pleasure to do business with. When I was 15 or 16 he even gave me my first job at his store he had in coral springs. Through out the years I have gotten many animals from him, weather it was reptile or mammal, it was always top quality. Underground reptiles is great. The staff is all very helpful.

Perhaps I should mention the males arrived recently and are still in the quarantine room as well. This room is on a separate level than our other three reptile rooms. Is yours? Before you go and shoot your mouth off you may want to have even a remote idea of what you are talking about. You know nothing of my collection or my experience in this hobby.

Good Day.

Ryan,
Yes it was a box with insulation and a heat pack but 40 hr no way unless you boxed my snakes the day before ups picked them up from your shop the pack was cold as ice as were my snakes. thankfully they are doing ok now. Yes i know these were WC and have no problem with that the problem i have is in no way shape or form is a 250g female of size to breed. On a second note i have heard good things about you and how you do business and have not talked to you directly, maybe things would have turned out differently but i would recommend you have your employees treat the cust. the same way you would because i was treated very poor. i dont think you tried to deceit me in any way just didnt get what i ordered. Sorry to say i will not be doing business with you again. But i will not discourage anyone else form doing business with you as i dont feel mistreated just not 100% satisfied.
Ryan

I'm truly sorry you are not 100% satisfied. Anyone who was disrespectful to you please let me know and I will reprimand them today. As far as the heat pack I assure you we only use 40 hour heat packs which we also get from TSK. I can show you pictures of the plastic wrap. In any case I hope we have a chance to earn your business in the future and make up for this less than pleasant experience. Thank you.

Ryan B.
