In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I just wont to let people know about how bad Underground Reptiles has become. I have spent a lot of money and even traded with them in the past and I have been more then happy with them ,But I just tried to buy 1.1 baby Emerald tree Boas from there fauna add Captive born and Guaranteed feeding baby Emeralds. I contacted them by e-mail and was told there was no problem
with me overnighting a Postal Money order that I would be contacted and get a pair sent to me when it was delivered . No one contacted me and I called them the next day and I was told they were all sold and that no one would tell me they would hold them for me .I ended up settling for 2 captive born feeding females .The day I got them I called and questioned weather one that was sunken and lacking fat deposits had ever eaten ?They said they told me it had never fed. Which was a lie .I would never take a baby or any Emerald that had never fed . Needless to say I got the snakes on Tuesday and it was dead by Sunday. They said they would give me another one at coast after making me jump threw a number of hops ,But never got back to me .I tried to talk to the owner ,but he would not come to the phone or return my calls. I was misled and lied to more then once during this one transaction . I am pretty sure I have lost my $300 on a unhealthy snake I complained about and had less then 5 days. I am posting this so you don't have to lose anything.
Thank You
Todd Walbridge

Also....I should ask for proof. Any sort of emails or texts between the two of you? Otherwise it's all just hearsay

Jumping through hoops, not being able to talk to the owner, UG offering a ridiculous solution to a problem. All part of there tactics and all too familiar. Those steps they make you go through to get credit and issues communicating with customers who have problems is all passed down to the employees from the owner. There is a whole scheme in dealing with doa's and issues there and it starts at the top... The good news for you is they seem very afraid of bad posts on this board so I have a feeling since you posted on here they will remedy your issue. The people who dont know about this site however are out of luck..

Mr. Walbridge did in fact order two baby emerald tree boas. He did inform us that he was sending a money order. No one guaranteed that we would hold any animals for him. As I am sure many know getting the promise of payment does not mean we always will. It is our company's policy that we will not hold any animals without payment. We received a money order two days after Mr. Walbridge said he had sent it. He was immediately notified that we only had two small females still available. We offered to send his money back, order in a male for him, or send him the two girls we had. He opted to receive the two girls we had. We shipped on Monday for Tuesday(April 1st) arrival. He informed me that the animals looked great and that the one that died had he even fed almost immediately for him. Mr. Walbridge sent us pictures and notified us of the animal's passing on April 8th. In our terms of service we guarantee live and visibly healthy arrival which we met and Mr. Walbridge agreed. Both us and Mr. Walbridge did not understand why this animal would pass so quickly after receiving it and after it fed. As a gesture of goodwill and because we desire to keep Mr. Walbridge's business we offered him another animal at the same price we would charge a wholesale customer. He agreed. Then when he saw the price he seemed unhappy and called us. I, and other employees, attempted to call him back but he never returned our calls, and was happy to offer him another baby ETB at the price I paid. Again it is unfortunate what happened to the animal and with Mr. Walbridge. I attached our email correspondence below.

Todd,

We tried calling twice. I need a little information so I can pull up your order. I just need to know when the exact day you received your animals and at what address. Thank you.

Hi here are the pictures of the dead Emerald tree boa and her cage . The pvc pipe has a heat pad in it because Tree boas change branches to regulate body heat . Also there is a heat pad on the side of the cage for over all ambient heat and the hole cage is in my reptile room which is 80 degrees. The floor of the cage is peat to hold in humidity . Let me know what you can do.
Thank You
Todd

I'm not sure if i'm allowed to ask these questions here !!!
but Todd, not taking sides , just trying to help figure out what happened to the baby.

Baby ETBs are one of the hardest ones to care for, not sure what your experience is with them but these snakes don't forgive less then perfect condition like other snakes do.

screen top with uvb light is not the best option, depending on the size cage you have.
having a uvb bulb in a canopy, heat mats on both sides, in the perch as well.
seems to me the baby got to hot and died of a heat stroke..

they need max 85 deg with a good gradiant to a colder spot.. you can have a 90 absolute max spot high and i mean HIGH on top but the ambiant temps need to be lower... keping the whole cage higher than 85 for a baby is a risk.
plus that screen top and the bulb will dry out the cage way to fast.. even with peat at the bottom, unless you spray the cage 4 times a day and even then, that light will simply dry it out.
baby ETBs need a constant 80% hum for the first year with higher Hum in shed and letting dry out in the 60s once i while, as they get older, you can let it dry out to 60 daytime after spraying.. it will go up high 80s-90s and dry down to mid 60s.
the screen top needs to be covered.

as for feeding, being a baby, after shipping.. real cool that the snake ate but i think that waiting a week before trying would have been better and the snake would have setle down to his new home more.. lots of stress for this little girl in a short time..
don't know the conditions it was in at the sellers store, or how long he had them..
but it may have had 2 shippings in a short time, new home, new conditions to adapt too, a feeding and from the info i read, maybe a too hot of a cage..

if you haven't done this already, use a heat gun or reliable probe and check the temps with the exact setting you had, if it's in the 90s or more this may well be why the snake died

sorry for your lost and hope things are worked out

Underground Reptiles

I have read the bad guys post on Underground and am amazed. I have made 3 purchases from them and have found them to be helpful and willing to make things right if you have a concern. All of the animals I have received have been healthy and readily ate, even the Mexican alligators that some have complained about.

I have never done business with underground reptiles and don't know them... a good friend of mine is friends with the owner, and speaks volumes of his good standing in the community and character... Looks to me that Todd is on a smear campaign...

I recently placed and order with them and found them to be great- they were very helpful, contacted me about shipping arrangements within minutes of me placing my order and answered all my questions. My animals ate right away and are all doing well.

Not everyone has credit cards or Paypal.
If a customer is paying with a money order, you could have that customer send the money order via priority mail. That way the customer can get a tracking number, that they could send you (or tell you over the phone), to assure you that a money order has been sent (and you can, then, hold the animal for a reasonable amount of time).
Otherwise, with all due respect, if you are not willing to hold an animal for a reasonable amount of time (4-5 days), for those paying via money order, then perhaps you should not offer money orders as an acceptable means of payment.

Good post.
Although I, personally, would become uncomfortable if temp reached 90 degrees (even as an absolute max for basking spot).
Considering that the OP's room is 80 degrees, there does seem to be a slight overkill on heat sources. However, would need to know what temps the other heat sources were at, exact location/s, etc. Plus, if there was a cool spot at all and, if so, what was its temp.
Of course, as you mentioned, a screen top (especially along with a heat lamp) is not good for proper conditions (for this, and like, species).
Exact conditions, that the baby ETB was kept at, would be good to know.

I have purchased from Underground Reptiles three separate times. Each time they have gone to great lengths to be helpful and make sure that I was satisfied with my order. They care for their customers and even more so for their animals.

UGR = Great Guys!

Sorry I dont mean this as an insult to you reptiledysfunction but, good standing in the community?? Please google the owners name. He served Federal prison time, was an enforcer for a bookey in NY, killed 1000's of reptiles with his smuggling operation, has threatened people on Television and became a Pastor of his own Church to get some kind of tax break. Not sure I would consider his character good judging by his record.

Also, I am sorry to say that since you paid by Money Order you are not going to get any satisfaction.. They have your money, have deposited the money order and they have complete control. If you would have paid via paypal and posted on this forum they would have been much more inclined to work with you strictly out of fear of a Paypal dispute and bad press. However, they know they have the control and you are Out of luck..Nice way of doing business huh?

i have dealt with underground for years in fact just got a caiman from them this week i think they are great to deal with and i will cont to do business with them thanks

You know who really suffers? The countless COUNTLESS number of Emerald Tree Boas that have absolutely zero chance of surviving the gauntlet from the field to UR and then to people such as the initiator of this thread who is absolutely clueless. Do us all a favor and do not seek another Emerald Tree Boa, for which you have zero chance of keeping alive.
