After a shipping mishap and some mis-communication on my part, I have to say I have to say that despite the mishap, that Underground Reptiles is sorting everything out. Despite the mishap, Im actually very pleased with my order and the way it everything was handled on their part.
It was their excellent shipping methods that they have a video of online, as well as videos of their store and their charismatic owner, Rian, that inspired me to order from them.
The aniamals are healthy and doing great, they are all eating, looking good, and have good weight.
I have to apologize about my mistaken bad guy thread, that was all due to a misunderstanding on my end. They are actually handling every thing well BEYOND my expectations. I assumed they would send me one replacement animal, but I was given the option of buying more animals at no extra shipping charge, as well as receiving my replacement animal. When I contacted them about the DOA, they were very friendly about it and once I provided pictures, they didn't question me one bit.
I've seen bad reviews on them, and I noticed a particular trends. All of the animals in question were commonly imported or field collected animals. Imporeted and field collected animals dont always come in from the importers in the best condition, and most wild caught animals harbor higher parasite counts. I don't understand how anybody thinks that any dealer is going to have the time and resources to fully acclimate an animal, get it treated for parasites, and then sell it for fiifteen dollars and still make money. And even a wild caught animal or farm raised one, such as a Ball Python or a Water Dragon may go off food from the stress of being shipped to you the consumer.
It is your responsibilty to be educated about the animals you purchase and where they come from, and it is your responsibility to put the acclimate the animal to its new home, which includes fecal exams, ttreatment for parasites and placing the animal in a hydration chamber upon receipt.
Its not fair in my opinion to hold the dealer responsible for possibilities that should be obvious when you buy certain wild caught and imported animals.
