• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.
  • Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Bad Guy Underground Reptiles Use Caution...

I am glad to see this error was corrected, and quite graciously at that. Thank you for that. I would like to mention that I originally tried to post this post without a Bad guy heading, but it would not allow me, and the other choices did not seem appropriate. I would also like to mention that I specifically chose not to email Underground Reptiles directly because of spam issues and that is why I sent my message through Kingsnake's messaging system. In addition, I should mention that I also received the automated "message sent" email confirmation from KS afterwards. To me that was the most reliable way to reach them. In response to their requests about the differences in these BTS forms, I will be happy to send them to you, and/or post them in the appropriate Fauna forum. However, there really should not be any confusion with Eastern BTS (Tiliqua scincoides scincoides) with imported animals as the Eastern BTS is a strictly Australian subspecies, and Australia has not allowed the exportation of any of their wildlife for 40+ years. The only form of T. scincoides found outside of Australia is the Tanimbar Island BTS (Tiliqua scincoides chimaerea). I will send more info through other channels.

I'm sorry to see that such a simple mixup has turned into a matter in which it is now being incinuated that we are somehow unteachable or deceptive. Neither of which are true. While going through our emails I did not come across any such emails that you say were written. This does not mean they were not written but on occasion we have had certain emails put into the junk/spam mail folder for unknown reasons. We are also currently having trouble both receiving and sending mail to yahoo accounts. We are also checking into that problem. I am curious why you did not contact me via fauna or by phone if you did not get an email response, especially if you were concerned that we were doing something wrong or indecent. As I am sure many of you know we are also a breeder of blue tongue skinks and have been so sucessfully for many years. This particular pair came from an imported shipment and were labled as eastern blue tongues. This is a common practice when it comes to animals received from importers or jobbers. Many animals are misidentified. I would love you to give me a call James and kindly explain difference or markers that we can identify to avoid mislableing in the future or perhaps even pm me with this information. Also I feel it is important to remember that in this vast hobby many people have their niche or specialize in their understanding of specific animals and species. Rather than disuading others from working with people who make mistakes we should feel at liberty and happy to try and teach fellow hobbyists about the animals we are passionate about in kind and humble way. Remember you win more flies with honey than you do with vinegar. I will definitely have the gentlemen who posted the ad immediately amend it and I do apologize for the confusion. I hope in the future, as corny as this sounds, we can all work together to benefit our businesses and this hobby. I must say that I have learned and gain an immense amount of knowledge and help from other hobbyists on this forumn and have also been able to help others as well. Thank you.

You said they were labeled as Eastern Blue Tongue skinks so that is what you sold them as. Being someone that sells reptiles, don't you think that you should know the difference between sub species that you sell? If I am trying to sell Carpet pythons and I get a Jungle that is labeled as a Irian Jaya, I am just not going to sell it as whatever the label says it is. I think if people are going to sell reptiles, they should know as much about the reptiles as they can so they can better educate the people that buy them and they can better understand the reptiles and care for them. Just my opinion.

I am sorry if I did not clarify before. Rian the owner and myself(Ryan Borkan) are able to identify these skinks as Irian Jaya BTS, but the young man who puts up our ads labled these guys based upon what he saw on the packing slip. This young man generally does a great job identifying animals and posting our ads responsibly. This was a mistake that we did not catch. Now that we have been notified of the mistake we were happy to change it. I have checked and rechecked our pm box but I still have not seen any message notifying us to the skink misidentification. I still think that all of this could have been avaoided with a direct pm or a phone call rather than a bad guy BOI reveiew. Nevertheless there is no point in crying over spilt milk. I appreciate the help and everyones feed back. God Bless!

i have also had misunderstandings with UndergroundReptiles about some of the leopard geckos he had labeled. that were labled as SHTCTB (super hypo tangerine carrot tail baldies)
but should have been SHT (Super hypo tangerines) because the CT (Carrot Tail) wasnt there and there were multiple spots on it head making it not a baldy

....so apparently people are nitpicking for argument's sake. Clearly Underground is aware of the problem and plans to fix it. Let it go.

I am pretty sure that posting under someone elses account is against the rules.

He signed his name, and it is known that he is involved with the business...It might be preferred that he use his own account, but he made it clear that is is not Rian Gittman.
