In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Word of caution to those who would buy a Frilled Dragon from them. Mine came sick and then died. That may be a reason they are selling them for less than anyone else. I bought mine for $99 plus $50 shipping and their only offer was to give me $25 off another one which is what they are now selling them for. :shrug01:

Sorry for your loss, but for anyone here to offer an opinion on this issue you will need to provide some sort of proof... A timeline, when you paid, ship date, when you alerted the seller, any vet visit dates, date of death, all emails between you and the seller, and photos of this sick animal and/or vet bills you may have.

Also, please contact the seller and let them know that you have started this thread about this transaction.

I think you said it already, but when something looks to good to be true it usually is...

Good Luck!

First off, was it labeled captive bred or wild caught? Did you check? How long after arrival did it pass away? Did you read their TOS?

You need to provide WAY more information to really make a point. Post EVERYTHING you have that proves your case. I'm interested in hearing what Underground has to say....I hope you informed them of this thread.

Without making any assumptions on either party, it should be known that frilled dragons are not a 'beginner species." Although related to bearded dragons, their care requirements are very different and they are more sensitive to changes to these needs.

Most are likely WC imports from Irian Jaya, in fact I'd be willing to bet they were at the price being sold.

Sorry for your loss, but as everyone else has stated, we need a little more info to go on.

Hey Rob,
I'm sorry if you had an unpleasant experience with us. I am currently checking my order book but right now but it is only showing orders from 5/06/10-current. Please let me know when you ordered and by what means. If you paid with payapl I might be able to research your order that way as well. Also please send me your email address that way I can try and find any email correspondence we might have had. Any pictures of your setup for these frills and pictures of these frills will be helpful. Feel free to give me a call.

Ryan,
I purchased the Frillie over the phone with a credit card on 3/27/10. The transaction posted on the 29th according to my statement. The lizard arrived looking ok but would never eat for me. I assumed it was stress and when he/she adjusted feeding would resume. By the time I found out it was a parasite problem the treatment prolonged its life but it never pulled out of it.
I called and communicated what was going on and I have stated what the result was. Im not sure what another call will accomplish. I realize I should have assumed the worst from the start and acted sooner on treatment. I have kept and keep alot of repiles and this is the first problem like this I have ever had. It was a win lose situation, with me and the Frilled Dragon on the losing end, and you on the win. I just dont want the same thing to happen to someone else. Im sure you have thousands of satisfied customers but unfortunately Im not one.

You are still giving next to no information here for people to make an informed decision regarding this company. There are no e-mails, transactions, vet. bills (assumption since you found out it was a parasite issuse) or any correspondants of the sort to validate your claims.

That aside, you bought the animal in March. When you realized it was having an issue, when did you contact Underground Reptiles and can you prove this? Has the animal only recently passed away? We are in August now, that is quite some time since March (six months, in fact). When did you finally decide to take it to the vet., if you did at all? Did the ad have the Frilled labeled as a WC or a CB? Why did you not attempt to return the animal too them as soon as you realized there was a problem?

If it really did take six months for this animals to pass, I have a hard time believing that it should be the fault of the company that sold it to you. Especially since it's likely the TOS had expired by the time all of this came about. While, perhaps, it had contracted a parasite at their facility, once you decide to keep the animal, it is your responsibility to get it treatment. Then again, with such a stretch of time, I have to wonder if, despite your best intentions, the animal's health deteriorated because of insufficient husbandry.

Now, do not jump the gun here and assume I am blaming you for the animal's passing. I am not. The problem is, there is so little to go off of it could be any number of things at this point and there is no way to know more than he said/she said. When a Bad Guy Thread pops up six months after a transcation with no evidence to support it, it often raises some eyebrows.

Also, it appears Underground Reptiles is attempting contact with you via this thread, yet you seem to think calling them will resolve nothing. So, basically, you are stating you have no desire to communicate with them. If that is the case, why start this thread at all?

Ryan,

I am sorry, but a bad guy post requires more info and better timeline, you told us you paid back in March but...

When did you alerted the seller of the issue?

What was their response at that time??

Who diagnosed the parasite issue and what was the treatment?

When did the animal die?

Do you have any photos of this sick animal and/or vet bills to post?

Now I am not saying this is the case, but as it looks right now you purchased a tough to keep animal back in March, you assumed there was an issue and self diagnosed it as parasites?, you contacted the seller ONE time and nearly FIVE months later your animal died and you're here calling the seller a bad guy on a public forum??:shrug01:

From the sellers response here it does not look like they are being difficult and they seem willing to help even though they have no recollection of this transaction.

Please provide more info..

Sorry to rain on the parade but the Frilled Dragon I purchased came to me sick and I made the mistake of putting a young bearded dragon I had in a tote I had the Frilled in for a short period without doing a major disinfecting clean and she got sick too. After a daily battle for a month I was not able to save either one. For both I am out over $300. I spoke to Underground a couple of times and was offered $25 off another one. What a joke. I will never buy another reptile from them or recommend Underground to anyone.

:shootfootWhen you make statements similiar to above, I have a difficult time believing that the seller was at fault when you do not provide any substance to support your claims.

DANG..the voices in my head assumed that everyone would be able to follow my logic...

What I am saying with that quote of yours is: You have just admitted your husbandry is not the best, and your quarantine procedures seem to be non-existent.

Does it count if I knew why you posted the quote? Lol

I still want evidence, as all of us seem to, but still waiting from the OP.

It counts!! :yesnod:

I just wanted a post in here so I could follow the thread easier than searching for it.:dgrin:

I am waiting too, he's been asked at least twice!

Honestly, I am aways amazed when a customer thinks he/she has the "right" to any kind of restitution MONTHS later without giving any kind of concrete information to support his/her claims. Especially after posting statements that could be used to support the theory that the buyer probably contributed to the animal's demise.:ack2:

I concur. Seeing his own admission leads me to believe it was husbandry problems that lead to the animal's demise.

I only spoke to them on the phone and adimit I made mistakes. Didnt take pictures etc. The loss of the bearded dragon was my fault because I didnt disinfect the tote from when I had the frilled in with some crickets to see if it would eat. I didnt know the frilled was sick at the time and thought the reason it wasnt eating was stress. I learned a hard lesson. I did quarantine the frilled from the start. The young bearded dragon was the only one of my animals I had in contact with where the frilled had been.
All I was trying to do is tell others to beware and take caution if they want to buy a frilled dragon from them.
If I had a better case than phone calls (my bad) they would have done more to resolve this. I kept telling myself I could get the dragons through it so I didnt document things and leave a paper trail. I contacted them early and told them I was battling to get the frilled through it and I would keep them informed if things changed.
Take it for what its worth, to some it may be worth nothing. I dont expect anything to change for me in this situation and have moved on. I saw they had reduced the prices and I was trying to help the next person not make my mistakes.
