• In case most of you have not noticed, I made changes to the donation amounts as well as the durations for all of the paid membership levels. Things are winding down here, and this seems to be the most prudent way to deal with the "end of life" period of this site.

    Contributor level members - $10 per 30 days
    Sponsors - Eliminated
    Benefactor level members - $25 per 30 days
    Endowment level members - $50 per 30 days

    On July 1, 2027, all paid memberships will be closed.

    On August 1, 2027, FaunaClassifieds will be terminated.

    Only change I expect that might take place is when I can get around to figuring out when the amount of money I would have to refund for the yearly paid memberships becomes less than the monthly expense of leasing my server, THAT date might be the termination date for the site.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Update on that crazy looking pastel

Unfortunately it is not a good update.

Well, as some saw, we hatched out a crazy looking pastel. After the came out of the egg(he came out before his yolk was fully absorbed(someone in my prior thread had offered their opinion that he was messed with too much which was not the case) and when he came out, he had a prominent kink and was relatively curled up so it was hard to assess anything else.

We moved him to some moist paper towels, cleaned off all the vermiculite, etc. If he was just kinked, as long as it didn't affect his quality of life we were just going to keep him as a pet. After waiting a few days, it didn't seem like his yolk was getting absorbed at all and I deemed it necessary to take a closer look at what was going on.

It seems as if he may have had a deformity on his belly(not just where it hadn't closed up but it seemed as if a good portion of his belly had failed to form properly) and there was some bloody discharge around where his umbilical would have been had his belly actually formed as a belly.

I made the call to euthanize him immediately. It is with a heavy heart that I report this but I figured those who had seen the in the egg pics would be interested in his outcome.

The other 4 are doing great(largest weighed in at a whopping 52 gramsn, smallest(boob egg) at 36 grams. They all have pink bellies so 1st shed should be any day now.
 
Do you by chance have any pictures? we are having an issue with an Albino that I removed from the egg at day 63 because it was all dry inside and he just wouldn't come out. He doesn't have a kink but his belly looks like there was an issue with yolk absorption and we are having issues deciding what we should do next. Would like to compare pictures if you have any?
