Eeeekkkk!!!! Please help me with my moral dilemma!! Cat Marcia? I saw the guy today at work again and as I thought he hadn't been able to get in touch with me so I got his number and just called him. He has bred them before, and there has possibly been some interbreeding? All males are separated, and a couple of the females are together. He says he has them in a Rack with flexwatt and a Thermostat. The rack isn't exactly Reptile specific. Its a metal rack he said like you'd find in a laundry room and then the Tupperware are in the rack. He wants to give them to me and the rack and heating all to keep because he says I look like the type of person that would take good care of them.
He was a frequent on Kingsnakes.com and has breed, so it sounded like he pretty much knows what hes talking about. He has two Tangerines, a Jungle something. Some hets and hypos (still don't understand what those are) an Albino and a Blizzard. He says the one baby he got from his normal female has something wrong with it and needs some attention. He also freely admitted that hes been neglecting them and that they are skinny. I guess he moved here from somewhere and has a new job and said he has little money and even less time for them. He also said hes keeping the Corn Snake because they are a lot easier to care for. I'm kinda grateful because my local post office will ship the Leos but not the Snake.
See now, my moral dilemma is this. A. I have NO money for any Vet trips for this "deformed" one or whatevers wrong with it. B. I obviously can't keep 9 Leos, Jeff does want ONE though. lol MEN! C. How skinny are they because if I remember correctly from the Piccolo thread you can't ship anything to skinny. This one really worries me.
He said they only have one hide and I'm not sure if they were given calcium. Jeff and I are going to look at them this next Saturday. About all I can do for these 9 Leos is make sure they have everything needed like calcium. I am willing to take on the expensive bill of feeding 9, but I'm not sure if I should get into this or not? I'm really just worried about them being TO skinny. I could feed any skinny ones and fatten them up for a month or two and then ship. I just can't claim total responsibility for these critters. I already have my own that need me.
I can't pay for the little one to be euthanized if need be, no Vets, and I just couldn't handle it if one died on me. I've had three die out of all my critters and two were decent situations and the only one I feel crappy about is Piccolo.
I don't know, I don't know. The only thing I can do for these guys is ship them, thats it. I'm kinda worried I'll take them in thinking I can get away with shipping them and then you guys yell at me and tell me I shouldn't and THEN what would I do with them? You know? I don't know, but will be better able to evaluate this situation after seeing them. I'm just worried!!
