In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

soo i am sitting here waiting for my leo's to show they were supposed to show up around 10:30 it is now 1:30 and when i called they said it might not get here till 6-7 pm mind you its going to be 103 heat index in a big brown tin can =( i hope the leos make it :crap::crap::crap::erm::willy_nil

Are you out in the boonies? Sometimes their overnight service with delivery by 10:30 is conditional based on where exactly you live.

If your seller packaged them well, they should be just fine.

I agree with the previous statement that the only time you will see an end of day delivery is if you are in a rural area.
Luckily the leos like it a bit warmer than some of the other reptiles. Good luck.

Might just want to remember for any future shipments. Can be bad if it is too hot or too cold for an end of day delivery like that.

Is the seller aware that it's 103 degrees over there? Personally, I wouldn't ship any of my animals in weather over 95 degrees or below 35 degrees. JMO

I hope your animals make it safely. As others have stated, if they are packaged properly, they should be fine.

From what I can tell from their site, UPS does not offer 10:30am delivery to your area but does offer noon delivery. Sounds like they were sent Next Day Air Saver which is only by end of day.

Uh oh.

Okay here's what you do.

Take pictures of the dead animals immediately. Contact the seller immediately. Inform him/her as to what happened, and send the pictures that prove it.

Were the geckos sent next day, or next day air saver? There is a huge difference. If they were sent next day, and they were in fact supposed to arrive before 10:30, then you have an issue with UPS. If the geckos were sent next day SAVER, then you have an issue with the seller.

The heat probably did them in. Like I said, I will not ship in severe weather. What a trajety. I hope you can work this out with the appropriate party.

Find out what your seller's policies are as far as DOA, and MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PROOF! Take pictures!

How were the geckos packaged? Can you show us pictures? Please tell me that they weren't sent with a heat pack...

the box was insulated everything was done right on the shippers part of things but the fact ups dropped em off at 5:30 is what killed them i'll post pics of the box and what not i gotta take the person i got them off of is going to send me 2 more geckos she is really awesome . but this is in ups hands cause it wasn't sent ups nextday saver it was said to both of that it would be here 10:30

So sad. I hate to see that.

Here's UPS contact information. Have your confirmation number and all the appropriate info availiable.

Also, it might be worthwile to talk to the seller about shipping in severe weather. It's too hot here in S. Florida to be shipping animals. I'm on hold until temps go down 10 degrees.

ya we are prob going to wait a lil bit either that or try cool packs but we are prob going to wait a bit before we ship the other geckos .:(

ALways ship to a hub in HOT weather.... the most dangerous time for a shipped reptile is the ride on the truck to the final destination....

I also use FeDex !!! much better

sorry for your loss

I have received improperly sent animals before, so I feel your pain. In our case, we received 10 snakes stacked 2 to a pillow case without dividers in an insulated box--an unmarked insulated box--it only said 'perishable'. All of the snakes on the bottom layer were dead. It appeared the box had perhaps sat on hot tarmac or on a hot truck bed for a long time somewhere on the way. Fortunately, all the snakes that arrived alive recovered.

It's very important to know the weather not only where you are shipping from, but at the destination. It's important to know what the packaging will need to withstand if the package DOESN'T arrive on schedule. I had one hair-raising incident last winter that's caused me to switch from 40 hour to 60 hour heat packs when the weather cools again.

I feel safer shipping in cold weather than in hot, though. I can put a heat pack in the box, and know the animals will be secure for as long as the pack lasts, no matter what happens to it. In hot weather, overheating is just too easy. I have trouble trusting cold packs not to overly chill the animals.

It's a terrible feeling to open a box and find what was one a beautiful animal that you were adding to you collection. I'm sorry for your loss.

I wish there were a sure way to prevent such accidents, but unfortunately, there isn't. There are some ways to make things safer, but nothing is foolproof (there are a lot fools in the shipping industry).
