Upstate Exotics.

Hi Dennis,
How are you? Please remember the good people in this business do far out weigh the bad.

Its people like Alison and Sal Tornambene of upstate Exotics that are hurting the hobby and this business. Again this hobby is mainly built on trust. As you can see they are definitely opportunist. They checked their sites marked the target and pulled the trigger.

IM glad people like Robin have had supported by so many, if not there would be one less hobbyist. I mean people like Lori that received a dying snake. Who knows how many others that have not come forward? I almost did not post this thread. But someone convinced me of how much good could be achieved by it.

This thread was pretty clean cut. All facts were shown and stated. Upstate Exotics should have come clean and not try to lie their way through this thread. They have done nothing but lie! They are after that oh mighty dollar!

The arrogance of Upstate Exotics is sickening, this is their major down fall. Alison the victim, a roll she had down so great. Like I said Alison is like the rapist who always think they are the victim.

When I was robbed of my money where was the compassion from Upstate Exotics? Every one has bills to pay and a lot of us have children. When people received dying snakes where was their compassion from Upstate Exotics? What did these people get usually get from Upstate Exotics? Blame for every thing that was wrong.

Alison was running all over this board promoting the so called good guys. Which most were uncovered for what they really are. Birds of a feather.

What these people do is in their nature, its what they are. Pity or simpathy for upstate Exotics, not here.

That was a good post Tony. Unfortunately, I think I'm going to have to disagree with you regarding "that the good people in this business far out weigh the bad."

A few years ago I would have supported you on that statement, however, I honestly believe that there are but only a few good people left in this business. I guess you could say that this business is a reflection of society in general. That's why I'm so reluctant to turn on the news anymore.....nothing but bad, bad and worse!

While there are a lot of bad guys out there I must disagree with you that there are more bad than good.
When I was jerked around by Neil (you know him, friends with upstate) I was surprised at the amount of support I received. It totally re-newed my confidence, I have since started ordering online again and so far, with all I've learned here, I have had no problems!
People like upstate and the rest we have seen do make it hard, but with some homework we can just steer right around them, hopefully they will go under.

Upstate Exotics, I received ads from your herpads site in both of my email boxes, and neither ad had a place to unsub from your list. Take me off your mailing list! You must think I am a total idiot. Why would anyone want to do business with you!

Dennis, I hope you don't leave the list. People like you are needed. There are so many good people on this list----don't you think it's just that the bad people cause so much turmoil that it seems like there are so many of them?

How are newbies like me supposed to learn anything if we can't find you guys who have experience.

Please forgive a Brit for jumping in here as plainly there is nothing can be done from this side of the pond, i do however keep an eye on American forums due to the problems as a general hobby we seem to get.

Why am i not supprised to see Jessie Underhills name wedged in this thread somewhere. .

Ritchie is the best Hound-Dog i know for getting to the bottom of things eventually, so im sure all this will come out in the wash eventually.

Heres wishing you all great sucsess with getting this dispicable place exposed.

And heres also expressing my sympathy with those who have had equally bad experiences or whom have lost animals due to bad health etc.

Firms like these have to be exposed for the pure damage they do to our hobby, when it already stands in such a fragile state and needs protecting.

How are you? Thanks so much for your comments and support! This means so much in the process of shutting down improper business practices. Pam again I appreciate your interaction, its so important for people and sites in different parts of the herp world to band together to accomplish this goal. There cannot be any place in this hobby for them period.

After reading all this and seeing where this is going. It doesn't look like its every going to end no matter what I do. I would like to come on here and say sorry to all the people we have had problems with on here and if we can make them right we will try (contact us). We would like to come to better terms with the BOI Reptile Police (meant this in a nice way) For we believe this site is a good way for people to look into dealers before buying since this industry is run completetly on trust and references.

We have many many happy costomers (well over 300) but most people don't know about this site. And I don't think 5 people that are unhappy with us out of 300 makes us horrible people! But like I said I cant seem to make the people here happy I will do what I can to do a 360 for all of you on here.

On another note just as I think this site is a great place for people to learn about dealers, I also think it is very badly misused! People that don't even know us jump on the band wagon pointing the finger, this site should be about personal experience not everyone saying he/she is a scumbag just cause someone said it first. Ive spent a lot of time reading the threads on here and I keep seeing someone bashed and then everyone saying sorry for bashing them in the end.

This is our lively hood, of courtse we want to keep people happy other wise we wouldn't have a business, but everyone has costomers that they could not satisfy I m sure walmart and ford have people that wont go there anymore. Its human nature to need something to complain about. People are so unhappy in their own lives to bash someone else makes them feel better!! (check out veronicas post) and half the time its not true! We have already tried to resolve this with the people who have complained. Gracie was offered a refund and refused it, we reimbursed for the unhappy snake customer with the yellow rats the DAY he contacted us and Tony was reimbursed before this thread started but NO ONE wants to hear it!! So once again I fully intend to make you (boi people) happy with us!

Any HELPFUL ideas on how you would like us to handle things please let us know.

Okay, Alison. If I am the person you are referring to when you said that you offered the person with the yellow rats, I originally said that I just wanted to let you know that there was only one snake in the box, thinking you would send me another one since I had paid (promptly, I might add) for two snakes.

Not only did you not send me another snake, but Sal accused me of lying and having rec'd two snakes and just trying to get another one.

That, and the death of Elphie due to illness which I believe you were aware of before you sent him, have since caused me to decide that I won't be happy with less than a total refund.

Repeatedly, I have said to you "Make this right." Now. Make This Right.

BTW, if I am the one you're referring to in the previous post, I am a 46 year old woman, not a man. Just wanted to clarify that.

The BOI Reptile Police as you put, sure uncovered your operations didn't they? Again victims must contact you. Why don't you tell the world again you don't keep your customers information on file? Alison, Did you care about the consequences of your action on my end when you stole my money? Did you care about my kids, my bills, etc.? It appears you have many ways of obtaining a lively hood. But you didn't think it would be exposed.

No, I was no referring to you in regard to the refund. I was referring to the earlier post regarding the gentleman who received his refund.

Also, I have never even heard about the "death" of this snake until yesterday when I received a report from the BBB. Which we have replied to with our shipping policies. Why did you not notify us?

If you need a replacement for that snake, please contact me directly, I cannot do anything about a "dead" snake if I do not know about it Robin. Please also forward pictures to me of the DOA and I can replace him for you.

It is surprising how many links lead to Upstate Exotics. I read the link to the rip off site and it is unbelieveable how they have treated people. Snakes? Construction? how deversified cAN you get? etc.

tony, its refreshing to see someone handle a bad situation so professionally and so well. You haven't lost your composure, or resorted to cursing or name calling or derogatory remarks.

You need to realize that all the negitive on here DOES make an impact on your sales, or what could be more sales. Do to me not listening to what people say on here and buying anyway (and getting screwed) I will not stray from only the good named people on here, or at least if it is a new name, thoroughly check them out!
Since I can not go to Daytona this year, I have been purchasing left and right on the net. There are so many times on KS that I see something I want and then see that is it you and just pass it up, even if you are the only ones selling that particular animal. Good example, rubber boas, for awhile there you were the only ones selling them but as much as I wanted them I would not buy.
So don't for a minute think that the BOI does not harm your business! That was only one example of animals I saw of yours that I passed up just because you were selling them.
You need to make things right. Even with Tony. Not lie about what you really made right and what you didn't but actually do it. Not talk about, just get ahold of them and make it right and let them come on and respond. Only then can people begin to start, well, a healing process so to speak

Well alison, since you asked, if you want to make reptile keeping a better hobby you could go out of business. Stop selling, stop lying, stop pretending to not know about how poorly you do business. Like Stardust, I am unable to make it to Daytona this year and have made some internet purchases. And like her I have seen things I wanted, noticed that you were the seller and not even bothered to open the add. That's 2 out of us just today. Working on the 2% theory, which I think is reasonable, you have potentially lost another 98 sales that you don't know about from people who have not come on here to speak of it. HMMMMM. Funny how that works isn't it? But even if it's only Stardust and I, that's at least several hundred dollars you don't have.

No, I have never done business with you, thank goodness for the BOI. Even so, I feel entirely right posting negatively about you and everything you do. Should you take care of Tony, and get things right with Robin, then I may, not for sure as you have a terrible track record, but I just may be willing to give you the benefit of the doubt.

But I still think the entire industry would be better off without you and sal in it, alison.

That's my opinion and since YOU asked for it I hope you appreciate it.

Let’s see benefit of the doubt. The first time Alison lied about my refund was 05/01/03. She had every opportunity to come clean. But she showed her true self and did what she does best, lie and play the victim. Today is 08/09/03 and she's still lying. She is what she is. Alison is digging deeper and deeper. She had since 04/19/03 to give me my refund. There is no change in these type of people. Like I stated (What these people do is in their nature, it’s what they are. Pity or sympathy for upstate Exotics, not here).

Nobody wants to hear it because you’re a liar. Quit insulting people’s intelligence. All the evidence is there in my post and you lied. Alison you should have quit then. You’re a persistent liar. I am stead fast pursuing this thread. That's why you so desperate. See Alison, that $180.00, you have to ask your self was it really worth it. But you realize your so deep in lies in this thread pertaining to my refund you have no choice but to ride it out.


Who knows how many other avenues this company is taking people down to scam them? Upstate Exotics is only on here because they have been blown completely out of the water. Alison is depending on smoke screens. Again give people a little more credit who follow what you post and what you’ve done. Your track record speaks loudly. You were asked on 05/01/03 to produce proof of a refund, still nothing.
If any one hopes this thread would just be swept under the rug and go away Alison, Its not going to happen. If you were one of upstate Exotics victims you would be glad it's here. Persistence is what's going to shut you down and prevent more people from being scammed by you.

I'm pretty sure you must have subscribed to this particular thread, as many times as you've posted to it. If I can take that as true, then you HAVE heard of Elphie's death and you HAVE seen his pictures. I do not want a replacement. I have two very nice babies from a very nice person. (Interesting that 2 babies is what I bid on on Reptibid and I had to get them from someone else.) I want my money back. Look at the pictures in this thread if you want to see pics. He's dead. He's buried in my back yard.

So far this spring and summer I have purchased a total of 25 CH 03' ball pythons from 4 different sources. I saw adds from Upstate Exotics before making at least the last three purchases (21 of those 25 CH 03' balls).

I don't even open the adds for Upstate Exotics.

That makes 3 of us making active purchases this summer who will not even open your adds because we have seen no evidence of your attempts to satisfy your disattisfied customers.

Talk is cheap, but my collection is not. I will not throw my money to a dealer I suspect will give back garbage for my collection.

i'm new to this posting thing but ive been read everything on this thread and i seem to spotted something. the links given for the reptibid feedback. look at the positive feedback and read the comments, now i know it will pain some of you, but look at the upstate website testa thingy and read them. strange is it just me or are some the same? strange. well had to point it out, maybe a few false comments? and also why is it they cant answer tony stright? they seem to dodge around him and waffle on about something else? i think its called changing the subject.
