    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This little guy arrived in the mail today and he has a bad injury to one of his front legs. It's and open sore. Any help with treatment would be greatly appreciated. Sorry about the blurry pics. My camera does not do cloeups very well.

Steve, I have no turtle medical experience. But with people, some of the major dangers in large wounds are fluid loss leading to shock and infection.

I do not know turtle first aid but if it were my turtle, I would keep it warm and hydrated, and gently clean the wound and put Neosporin on it to combat infection.
He is an adorable turtle and I hope he heals and does well.

Steve, this is from Austins Turtle Page

Clean the injured area with clean water. Disinfect the area with iodine or betadine. Treat with Silvadene (Silver Sulfadiazine), Neosporin or triple action antibiotic. Let turtle be dry for about an hour after treatment. Place in separate tank with clean water. You can add StressCoat for fish as it assists in the healing process. Treat this way daily for about 2 weeks or so.

Thank you. I dried him, put some betadine on with a cotton swab and then put on some neosporin.
I hope he pulls thru.
My son had been bugging me for months to let him get a turtle so I finally gave in since my daughter is getting her bird. Too bad the little guy is injured.

Awwww.......he sure is a cute lil thing!!! I wish him luck....sorry your son had to get a turtle with an "owie"!!! :(

It's just typical of my luck lately with online transactions. :hot:

The little guy should be OK. He is getting pampered with lots of TLC.
