Of course, I think that is awesome!! But, the babies seem like a normal phenotype for both green and albino. So, are these heterozygous for the "mutant gene"? Or, is it something else?

Thanks!

This strain of mutant is called mutant because the phenotype can and does mutate and change actively. A lot of mutants come out of the water as normal frogs and from then on can change into a lot of different colors. I am not 100% sure what to call it but it would seem more polygenic. Definitely not recessive. I am offering a chance at very high dollar animals for a reasonable price because I do not feel comfortable charging more for genetics I myself do not completely understand, since they are so new. Thanks!

The mother, this white female in the picture was a normal green. Changed all white completely patternless and translucent originally. Upon maturing, she developed the brown and white "pied" appearance. Super fun to watch them change. I have a relative of hers that was purple/blue and now is all purple.

Thank you, for the explanation. That makes sense, now. Do you have any froglets that show "low/tiny amounts of mutant gene" in the phenotype? If so, how much are you charging for the froglets?

Thanks again!!

I do have some I will be posting on our social media hopefully. Facebook and IG as RaudyReptiles. It is a small amount so far so I am just getting some food into them to see the progress. There is plenty of time as about 1/4 of the spawn still is in the water. Thank you for the interest they are truly wonderful frogs.
