    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

uth....again

Sorry about all the posts guys. I wanted to know if a cobra uth 11x11 would be too big for a 24x12 tank. I know your thinking why not just get the smaller one? The answer is I am getting a 40gal soon maybe around Christmas. But in the meantime I will have to go with the 20. So is this a bad idea or will it work. Lastly does anyone know where I could get a cheap rheostat if I have to? Thanks- Nick

Well...IMHO

I would probably get the bigger UTH then adjust the way it was placed. ie.. So that the 20 sat just on a corner of it, or lift the 20 up higher with blocks. It seems as if both these or a combination of them, would allow most of the heat to be distributed outside the tank, and by playing with different heights, or amount of uth actually contacting the tank, you should be able to establish the temp where you want it. Just be sure you have the adjustments made so you have a steady reliable temp BEFORE you put the leos into the tank. And you can find a rheostat at any hardware store. Common name dimmer switch. If I was you though I would just get the actual thermostat. Much better purchase. More reliable.
