In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Flesh eating monsters!

They decided to try human fingers for supper today.

First time, Littlefoot samples some skin..

Not wanting to be left out, Cera takes a bite to see what all the ruckus is about.

Thing is, Cera wanted to swallow, she was not about to give up.

I love the "tri-podding" photos. If i were you i would start treat training him into doing that by command, ive seen an argus monitor that would tri-pod whenever the owner would whistle. THAT IS SOMETHING TO BOAST ABOUT, lol

They are growing an inch a week.

Got some unusual shots today.. They have a whole network of tunnels under the surface.. pretty cool.

This hole on the surface is quite small, I set the cam on macro and shined a flashlight down the hole to get these.

The tunnels connect and I can often hear them hissing down under the surface.

Basking.... Littlefoot is sprawled out flat, this is common to maximize surface area to absorb radiant heat from above.

Here we can clearly see the nictitating membrane (third eyelid) "blinking" on the right eye.

In a really bad mood.....

Could we see some shots of their full cage, if you have any? Also, would you mind if I emailed you to pick your brain about these guys? My boyfriend pushed for us to get one and I'm not comfortable that we have all their care properly hammered out. I've been a chameleon person for a long time so these are new for me but we just need someone experienced to help us out.

You may ask any question that you like, however.. On this subject, the contents of my brain are published at my web site. (Anyone may ask anything they would like, all I want is to see these animals properly cared for)

And my cage looks like this from 10 feet back...

Oh, and that was taken before they killed all the grass.

Between trampling it and digging all the roots out from below, the grass dies quickly.

Oh thank you, I've come across your site in previous searches.

How much should a young monitor be fed? Mine is ~10" in total length and right now we are giving him perhaps 3-4 appropriately sized roaches and 5-6 medium crickets every day, with a treat like a little feeder fish or infertile chameleon egg a couple times a week. So far no rodents. He always looks like he could eat more but he wouldn't be the first reptile I've had that could eat himself to death if I let him. How does this sound?
