We will have a variety of rats available in the upcoming weeks. Here is a run-down of the litters we have. I don't know ALL of the proper terms for the colors, but I'll try to be as close as possible.
Litter # 1 -
Sire - "Gray" Berkshire, Dumbo ears
Dam - Ruby Eyed Orange/Fawn self
Babies - ~12 available, all are agouti, black or "off" black.
Whiteness ranges from self to berkshire and everything in between.
Don't know how many bucks and does, but they are all dumbo carriers.
Ready to go around 1/28/09.
Litter # 2 -
Sire - Black Berkshire, Rex fur, dumbo ears
Dam - Cinnamon Variegated
Babies - 1 Agouti berkshire(normal ears/fur), 1 Pink eyed beige self
(normal fur, dumbo ears), 2 black self (normal fur, dumbo ears), 2
pink eyed beige self (rex fur, normal ears), 1 black berkshire (rex
fur, normal ears), 1 black self (rex fur, dumbo ears), 1 black
berkshire (rex fur, dumbo ears), and 1 agouti berkshire (rex fur,
dumbo ears). Not entirely sure of the sexes yet, this is the age I
always tend to make errors at. All are VERY sweet little babies, come
from two very well tempered parents. For the ones who don't have dumbo ears, they will definitely carry the gene to
produce this trait. Ready to go around 2/7/09.
Litter # 3 -
Sire - Black Capped, Hairless
Dam - Black Hooded
Babies - Still just fuzzies, looks like there will be Red eyed whites
(or some other very light color) and black capped/hoodeds. There are
a couple that are "off" colored and may be just poor blacks or
possibly blues of some sort. Don't know sexes yet or whether any
exhibit the hairless gene. If nothing else, they will all be
carriers. Perfect way to breed for hairless without worrying about
the small litters and low milk production that the does are known for.
Ready to go around 2/14/09.
Litter # 4 -
Sire - Black Capped, Hairless
Dam - Lilac/Cocoa Berkshire (sister to Cinnamon variegated above)
Babies - Just pinkies now, don't know colors, sexes, or coat types.
Will all carry the hairless gene. Possibility they could carry dumbo
or rex as well, since their aunt produced them. Ready to go around
2/20/09.
As far as pricing goes, all normal earred, normal furred babies are $5
each or $7.50 for two, whether they carry the recessive genes or not.
Rexes, dumbos, hairless and any combinations thereof are $10 each or
$15 for two.
