I’m thinning my Greek tortoise herds now that I feel they are all established. These animals have all been dewormed and observed closely in both indoor and outdoor settings. Some have been here more than 2 years. Some of these subspecies are quite rare in collections, especially in the USA.
The following are available in limited numbers:
Tunisian Greeks (T. graeca nabeulensis): Adults, both sexes but I am female heavy. Beautiful, bold coloration, very petite animals. Think of them as a prettier Egyptian tortoise or the western Hermann’s of the Greeks in size and color. $500 each but will entertain quantity discounts.
“Minor” Libyan Greeks (T. graeca ssp?): Adults. This is an unknown tortoise to science, currently. It has yet to be described but the appropriate people are involved in potentially revealing interesting news about them in the future. These are unique, very petite animals with some having beautiful orange coloration, not to be confused with Tunisians. These are different and worth getting your hands on NOW. $400 each and will entertain quantity discounts.
Classic Libyan Greeks (T. graeca cyrenaica): Adults. The most beautiful of the Greeks with their elongate carapace and grievous Dalmatian dog-like spotting all over. These will not be priced as cheap as some of the fresh imports coming in. I did a lot of work on these are they’re fantastic now. Several have laid eggs. $375 each and will entertain quantity discounts.
Syrian Golden Greeks (T. graeca terrestris): Adults and a few smaller ones available. These are your classic, bright yellow-golden animals with some having orange on them. Spectacular specimens. Also laying eggs. $300 for big adults and $250 for smaller ones (sexes guaranteed), quantity discounts available.
Algerian “whiteii” Greeks (T. graeca graeca?): Once dubbed T. graeca whiteii, these cold tolerant Greeks come from the Atlas Mountains. Very unique and interesting animals that easily fall in line with North African graeca appearances but have a lot of mottling on the carapace, large heads and some are very dark colored, nearly black. To my knowledge there are no others out there available in the USA. $550 each.
Serious inquiries only.
Trades for other tortoises (Hermann’s in particular may be considered).
Email me for further info and photos as I can’t seem to resize the images enough for this new format.
