Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

My chameleon book says 80-86 degrees, but a care sheet I have for breeding says 75-80. I have the eggs at 79, but what is the best temp to incubate at? Also, does anyone know how long eggs can survive if the dam is full term, but dies after digging the tunnel? She dug the egg tunnel, then when she didn't come out after 36 hours I excavated the tunnel and she was dead at the bottom. She was very healthy and the tunnel didn't clapse or anything, so I am at a loss. When I removed her I could feel huge eggs in her so I decided to surgically remove the egg case post mortem to try to save the babies. The case contained what looks like 29 good eggs and 2 slugs. I just hope I got to them in time. Would they most likely have died once the mother stopped breathing, or is there a chance they will be ok. The case was obviously still very moist, as were the eggs, and it had red blood vessels throughout. The eggs slipped right out of the end and I put them in moist vermiculite. Any info is appreciated.

I am not sure about the rest, But I would "err" toward the cool end as far as temps. We used to have some hatch with eye problems at 80 degrees, not sure but I think it was due to premature hatch due to too high temps in inc. good luck
 
Thanks, casey. I'm lowering the temp to 78 until I hear different. I had them at 77.5 until I read my cham book over again. It said 80-86, but it's obviously a poorly written book on the subject. Any other help is still greatly appreciated. I'll keep this thread updated on the eggs, but I hope someone can post with their knowledge/experience about my current situation in the mean time.
