    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I do not know what quite to think yet as this issue with Donovan is still somewhat up in the air but I will post this and be more than happy to print a retraction when this gets resolved.

On May 4th, he posted an ad on kingsnake.com offerring 1.2 Arizona blacktails for sale for $400. I responded asking for a photo. He promptly sent a photo on May 4th. On May 6th, he e-mailed me telling me all the charges including shipping. That very day, I sent him $425 (snakes and $25 box charge) via PayPal which was accepted. I asked him to hold onto the snakes until I could figure out a good shipping day.

On May 11th, I sent him an e-mail asking him to ship on May 20th... NO REPLY

On May 14th, I sent him another e-mail... NO REPLY

On the 17th, I get a reply from him saying he was out of town, the blacktails were sold a week before he got my payment and he would get me a refund as soon as the money transfers back from Paypal. Funny but he e-mailed me on the 6th that they were still available and I sent him money via Paypal that same day. Yet, they were sold a week before he got my payment?

On the 18th and 26th, I sent him replies asking for the money back ASAP as I could really use the money for other things... NO REPLY

On May 26th, he (someone from Venom Unlimited) posted another ad in the venomous section on kingsnake.com.

On May 31st, I sent him another e-mail telling him this was my last attempt at getting the money back before I post this whole situation on the net. I get a reply from his wife (Brandi Wadding) saying that he is away at training for the military, that he left the 17th and that he won't be back until June 15th. She was going to ask him for his account password to refund me my money.

On June 1st, Donovan or someone from Venom Unlimited again posted an ad in the venomous section of kingsnake.com.

I sent a reply June 2nd telling her that I didn't mean to be rude but I had heard nothing from him and that I really needed the money... NO REPLY

So this is the story up to now. I have all the e-mails and will post them if I have to. Two funny things I've noticed:

One was about the blacktails being sold a week before he got my payment; which was the same day that he e-mailed me telling me how much everything will be including box charge. That means they must have been sold before he put them up for sale on kingsnake.com because I sent him payment two days after he posted the ad. Plus, Paypal sends you an e-mail when you get a payment so he would have known someone sent him money...

Two, he is apparently out of town until June 15th but yet he has posted two ads on kingsnake.com since our deal occurred. If he is out of town and somebody is selling animals on his behalf, they should also be able to refund my money on his behalf.

Watch out for Venom Unlimited because they've been posting several ads lately...

I had problems also

I also had problems with Donovan. Not along the same lines but Oct of last year he was selling Sri Lankin palm vipers that were feeders according to him. To this day I am assit feeding these animals! I have tried every trick in the book ( tease feeding , scenting, live ,dead, braining, alternate food sources such as frogs and lizards) When I ordered the snakes he ahd told me that they were eating off tongs and that they would be ready to feed when I got them since it had been over 2 weeks since he ahd fed them awaiting sale and shipment. I recieved them and let them settle in for a day and tried to feed them.. they refused and I promptly called him..he told me to brain them .. I tried that the next day .. after they refused again I called again letting him know that I could not get them to feed and that I wanted to return them to him due to my displeasure with this. He also told me that everyone else that had bought the remainder of this clutch had no problems with them. It was friday again by this time and he told me if I could not have them eating by Mon to call him back and that he KNEW they would feed by then. Over the weekend I tried a few more times to no avail. I called on Mon and he did not answer.. He WILL NOT answer his phone any more when I call although I gave up some time ago. I did in time though speak with many people about these snakes and once anyone found out who I had purchased them from I heard nothing but negative comments about his animals and his service. I also was put into contact with the other people that were suposedly having no problems with there Sri Lankins and found out that NO ONE had purchased feeding animals from him and many of them have already died as of this date..

My Fault

It is my fault that the payment was sent late. Simple mistake. I withdrew the funds from my account before realizing who had paid. I had sold several snakes at one time. Because I used the money, I had to wait until the funds where put back into my bank account and then transfered to my palpal account. I went out of town therefor took longer than needed. I appologize for that and would I have received a phone call It would have been explained it to you. The refund has been submitted as of today (pending). Again, I do admitt that this was all my fault.

Paul, I am truely sorry for the incovienence.

As for Thomi Lowe, aka venomousangel77, I have no idea who you are. I have never in my lkife owned sri lanken palm vipers. I sell venomoids, rattlesnakes, cobras and on occasion gaboons and puffs. Thats it. If you have called me all those times please post the number to verify that it is mine. What stae are you from? Like I said I dont know who you are but get your facts straight before you jump on the band wagon.

Sri Lanken Palm Vipers

To the person that replied above about the sri lanken palm vipers. I am good friends with Donovon and live only about 2 hours from him. I have seen his stock and the animals he has to offer for sale are qulaity animals. i own a few myself! he and i have done much business but he trully has NEVER HAD sri lanken palm vipers and i know this because if he had them at one point i would have bought them. i can voutch for him on this matter so please take his reply into consideration and verify his phone number and contact information to assure everyone that you are accusing the right person! this kind of stuff could seroiuslly harm someones business that has not done anything wrong in this aspect! also to the originatore of this post......donovon is in the militray and has to go to a thing called drill. it's where he has to go train to keep up the combat skills. he does leave alot but he will take care of your refund and if he says he was out of town or late on something then believe he and i.......he's telling the truth.
i just wanted to get my word in on these 2 matters before people started getting things all mixed up.

Since this was over ayear ago I no longer have the number.. The person had the same name ,, there is a possiblity that I am wrong although if I am that would mean someone was selling under Donovans name

regarding the Trigs...

They are not usually real aggressive feeders. But one thing I did learn is that they can usually eat a bigger meal, even as babies, than most people would imagine. Get the smallest mouse you can get that has fur on it. Trigs seem to trigger on the fir.

They can also go a pretty long time without eating. Don't stress them out. I think your first mistake was messing with them 1 day after you got them. You should have let them sit about a week to acclimate. They will also trigger off of rapid movement. I would take tiny fuzzies and wiz them past the face of the babies and they would nail them like a boa nails a bird in mid-flight.
 
October of last year isn't more than a year ago. Do you have the names of the people you spoke with that had bought the other snakes?

If this is a different person it needs to be cleared up right away.

I refuse to post names of others I have talked to ... I can let them know about this thread and if they want to post here then they can. As I said the person had the same name and if I am wrong then I am wrong..... and thanks for the info on time frames.. you are right it was not over ayear ago .. but it was a looong time ago and I erased the guys # off my cell when he stopped answering my calls
 
Donovan, thanks for the return. I have nothing against you and just wanted my money back. Did I have a cow when you said you had them sold already after I sent my payment? No. I just asked for my money back as soon as possible.

However, I sent repeated e-mails and got no answer until I threatened to go public with it. Imagine if someone had $425 of your money and the animals were sold to someone else and they didn't contact you or keep you posted on what was going on...

You posted your ad on the internet. We were corresponding via internet and you were being prompt with your e-mail replies in the beginning. That you weren't replying to my e-mails but still posting ads on the internet lead me to believe you were avoiding me. Was I to think that phone calls would be different?

To Rowdy Kent: I wouldn't have a problem if Donovan told me that he already spent the money and would refund my money when he gets it back or whatever. Go back and read the events. The problem was that he didn't keep me informed at all. I kept sending e-mails that were unanswered. I didn't know what was going on.

BTW, I absolutely respect the military and the men and women who serve in it but that doesn't excuse them from things. I thank Donovan for stepping up...
 
about donovan and all involved

as long as everybody is pleased and not trying to accuse anyone lese then i am staisfied to. i am just trying to look out for the weel being of the herp community and keep it strong. i didn't want anything to accur that would mess up friendships with anyone!

by the way....does anyone have any established, feeding trim trigs (sri lanken palm vipers) for sale right??? i have been trying to get 1 or 2 but am haveing no luck. thanks alot.

Just wanted to let everyone know that as of June 9, 2003, Donovan has refunded my money and sent me a couple of apologies. Thank you for solving this problem Donovan and Thank you to the BOI - the best thing on the web for herpers who buy online.
