In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Venomoid

I must comment on this one. So many people believe that the slaughtering of cows, pigs, chickens, or any other type of "food animal" is done humanely, when, on the usual basis, it isn't. Most of these animals that come from industrial farms have a horrible life and die a horrible death, as many are still concious when they are being skinned for processing. Euthanasia, done under the right circumstances and in the right manner, does not produce pain or suffering, but what people who work in the slaughterhouses do (or many industrial farms, for that much) is unacceptable. Just go to meetyourmeat.com and see what I am talking about. Then tell me if it all complies with animal cruelty laws and morals.

I am completely against the practice of venomoid surgeries, and agree that using non-venomous strikers (like water snakes and racers) is much more likely to be effective as a training tool for those just starting out in their process toward venomous handling. However, I have to disagree about one issue posted in this thread.

That initial picture does appear to show the mouse's nose protruding from the right side of the snake's mouth, near the back corner. It looks like you can see the nostril openings of the mouse's nose, if you look carefully enough. If so, then that snake is eating, and the lump down the body toward the left in the picture may very well be a previously ingested food item, especially since that seems to be a rather small mouse for a snake that size.

Now, it also appears to me that the snake's head seems awfully misshappen int he picture. However, I do not recognize the species (not being a hot handler), and I realize that IF another prey item had been taken, then the jaws may simply be out of alignment. The picture is simply too dark to tell what is what with that animal, in my opinion.
