I was wondering who all has been bitten by any species of venomous snake/lizard.

Here are some photos of my bite, stupid mistake, and I have learned to respect the power that venomous animals hold.

Sam, hey...can you give me some specifics on your bite? PM is fine if you'd rather not air it out here. I ask because I'm an ER doc that has a "love" for treating envenomations. envenomations. I find so often that most ER docs, even though it is studied, don't have enough opportunities to really treat a lot of bites and thus there is a lot of confusion/timidity in treating them, so I get really passionate about proper care of the envenomated patient. So, specifically, you get CroFab? #vials? Anyone calculate a Snakebite Severity Score? Did you have systemic effects (nausea/vomiting, heart rhythm issues, clotting issues, etc)? Again, if you'd rather not go into it, no worries, I'm just gathering info on this stuff. Thanks man!

I have no issues sharing, I'm not proud of it, but if it is gonna prevent someone from making the same mistake, I have no issues!

12 vials of Crofab, not a ton, but there was vomiting. I had a somewhat high pulse, and really didn't have any issues with clotting.

The surgeon said that out of his 25 years of surgeries, this was his second worst envenomation!

I think it would be instructive to know HOW the bite actually took place.

I've never had any interest in fooling around with venomous snakes. Pics like this reinforce my suspicion that this was a good idea on my part.

wow that's a bad one!

How long was it from the time you got bit till you got to ER? I got bit at home by a baby albino WDB in 2008. 20 min. drive to the ER, 16 vials of crofab total bill 45,000 and change.

bite pics

the albino WDB that bit me. My bite was not bad at all compared to yours and many others i've seen.
