In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Vision Cages....

Very timely thread for me.I have never used Visions but just bought a bunch from a friend.I was looking for something I could stack on top of my large melamine cages which would take up less space than my tanks and look better.

Set up my first two today and so far I'm quite disappointed. :(

The first a two footer,I set up with a Slimline with a standard bulb. The temps are low 80s right under the bulb, too high for my liking for the species I put in there, plus the bulb is directly in the center, not to one side or at front or back,so any gradient is weird, and short in two directions, high 70s on each side. By contrast the 20 long tank I used before with the same light was mid 70s.

Then I set up what looks to be intended to be a small arboreal cage, and it took about a half hour for one of my baby Bimini boas to slid out right between the front glass pieces. Luckily I caught him with about two inches of tail to go.....

Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Warpage

Hi, I like the visions. My only problem with them is that the last couple i have bought have been warped more than a little on top. They dont lock together AT ALL. They are indented about 2 inches on the tops. It doenst effect the snakes, but aesthetically and for stacking it sort of sucks.

Carole

I don't recommend using Visions w/ small snakes....as you found out the gap in between the glass is enough to allow little snakes to escape. You might try a lower watt bulb to decrease those temps or you can order from Vision or make on your own additional ventilation for the sides. This will help increase air flow and should bring the temps to a better setting for you. I don't use lighting at all w/ my Visions (400s).

Good luck.

Russ:

I've swapped the skinny boas for a 2 ft Grayband, hope it works better.

I've also tried elevating the lights a little and only having half over the opening, this should help ventalation as well. I'll look around for cooler blubs for the Slimlines,it would suck to replace them, they fit perect, and were part of the package deal....

Thanks

ventilation

yeah I hear you (not wanting to reconfigure).

Vision makes these circle shaped vents w/ rubber gromets that fit into a hole you cut w/ a hole saw. At least I believe they did. At any rate, if you email the Vision guys they can tell you how to correct the problem.

Good luck.
Russ
