Wade and I chatted awhile earlier this year about a CB '02 female albino bull snake I was going to purchase. I sent him an $85 check, which he emailed me saying he received on Mar. 15, 2004. There was some miscommunication about the snake, and she was never shipped to me. When he finally emailed me back on April 7th, he told me the snake had been vomiting up meals and he didn't feel comfortable selling her to me, so in return, he would send me 1.1 '04 albino bulls after they hatched and he would send me a check for $85 separately.
On May 6, he emailed me to tell me he had sent out a check for $85 on May 1st. I NEVER RECEIVED THIS CHECK. His excuse when I called him? Something about the check getting returned mangled from the mail carrier.
I told him to hang onto the money, and just send me the bulls. He insisted on his first offer of the returned $ plus bulls, so we agreed to have them shipped.
When I had not heard back from him for awhile, I called and emailed to find out what was going on. On September 1st, he finally emailed me back to tell me he was shipping out the bulls and an anery corn I had asked him about. The animals never arrived. September 8th, he emailed me back and said he wasn't shipping because of the heat. On September 29, he emailed me again. This time, there was something about fedex not accepting his shipments. We went back and forth on shipping, with LOTS of excuses-family problems, medical problems, etc-for a few weeks, then he dropped off the radar for another 3 weeks and I finally had to call him again to find out what was happening.
He mentioned he had a family member coming down from Washington and that he was thinking it would be easier to just send the bulls and money with them when they came back up, since they lived not too far from me, and that I could pick the snakes and money up at their house. At that point, he gave me an address of Jim & Connie Furrey 1380 S Winter St. Olympia, WA. and said he would call me back with a phone number. This was 1 WEEK before I was supposed to pick up the animals in November.
After not hearing from him AGAIN, I tried to find the address. No such address exists anywhere in Western Washington. I've been calling him non-stop ever since, with no calls back. His email is down, and anything sent to him keeps getting returned to me. His website, http://www.slitherfactory.com is still up.
He has $85 of my money. No, that's not much... but I'd hate to see this happen to anyone else sending him more than that. I thought he was an honest person, I used to talk to him a lot about snakes and such, and knew others who bought from him... but after waiting over 8 months for this to be resolved, I'm sick of waiting. I can't just drive down to California, or I would!
If he'd like to pop on here and explain himself, it would be nice to know what is going on.
