In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I got this beautiful girl from Jerry Conway in September and I am in love with her. I knew they were small but I was very shocked to see how small they are in person. She is about 4 years old and so little. She eats live pinks which I wish she would eat f/t but hey she's eating mice so I happy with that.

Here she is.

Thanks for looking.

I'm so glad you posted the pics, she's gorgeous! The stripe is very cool. Jerry seems to be the source of most great Candoia, and he's been very helpful with advice on mine.

So far my female is 3 years old and still only about 1 metre long (that's 3 feet for you USA types), so they are quite slow growing. Kind of corn snake size! But I only feed them on geckos: I'd love to know how fast she grows on mice.

My C bibroni bibroni are distinctly nocturnal; how is C caritina?

I don't think she is going to grow anymore they max out between 18''-24'' and she is 20'' and 4 years old. I was amazed at how small she was my yearling corns are bigger than her lol.

I have branches, lots of plants and one hide for her and she tends to stay in the hide most of the time but when I do see her out it tends to be at night also.

I've been thinking about breeding her eventually but I'm not sure I would be able to feed the little ones geckos or anoles. We'll see I may give it a try once cause I do love them and it's a shame they are not that well known.

Wow, that is small. With C bibroni the males stay under 4 feet, but the females get much larger. How big do male caritina get?

Her face is much more angular then the Fiji boas, really sharp!

Finding food for the tiny neonates isn't easy: mine needed TINY newly hatched house geckos. See feeding shots below from when they were about 6 months old.

They did occasionally take dropped tails from larger geckos, so there is a renewable food source if you have the heart......:ack2: There's a guy in the UK who got his new born C bibroni australis straight onto mice, so it is possible.

I haven't read anything about how big the males get but I talked to a guy who had one a while ago and said it was tiny and I know males are much smaller. The maxium size for adult c. carinata is 18-24", but they normally average between 16-20'', so the males would most likely be in the 16'' to 18'' range. They are itty bitty things.

Their angular faces are one of the things I love about them. I wasn't planing on getting carinata carinata I really wanted carinata paulsoni but after seeing the patterns of the c. carinata I had to get one. I plan on getting a Solomon Island Ground Boa (Candoia Carinata paulsoni) next. They average 2-4 feet, they are the ones I fell in love with first.

My girl has no problem taking mice but I believe she started of with frogs then moved to scented pinkies and now she eats plain live fuzzies. I don't think I'd be able to feed them geckos or frogs, I like them to much but we'll see maybe in a couple years that will change I used to not want snakes because I liked mice lol.

Here's a picture of her chowing down.
