    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

[Hello,I am wanting to warn every Body about a guy named James Shaeffer([email protected]) From Newton Ohio. He cheated me in a trade; We had made a deal to trade a snake i had for a snake he had,well we agreed to ship them both of on the same day and i went down and shiped mine off but come to find out he did not do the same. I called and called and also emailed him that if he was not going to stick to the deal that he needed to send my snake back.Well its been a month and a half and still nothing. well now he will not return my phone calls or return my emails,so now i don't know what to do,I lost money shipping him the snake and lost my snake also. so if any one knows of anything that i could do let me know please;my email is [email protected]; WEll i guess i did a stupid thing and sent my snake , its a hard lesson learned Thanks for listening Richard R Hynes
 
Sorry To hear about this. I know it sucks. Could you provide as much info about the tansaction as you can. Emails addresses source of payment shipping agents...... Any added info may help find this guy..

As John said, You should post all contact info you have on him like phone number, shipping address & his email address. Does he know about this thread?
 
Have you contacted the police dept. in Newton Falls? I would call them to file a complaint and see if there is anything that they can do.

What address did you ship to? What snakes were involved? How was this trade started? Also can you post any e-mails of your transaction? Any other contact info would be nice as well.
 
Going to be a tough one to pursue. Being a minor there may be little anyone can do to recover lost funds but if you had his parents information I would start by calling them

That kid looks like he's barely over the age of 12, then again, looks can be deceiving. =/
 
oh fyi, regardless of age, there is negligence involved with this transaction, and therefore if this james person was under the age of 18, then his parents would have to assume responsibility of returning the snake or an equal cash value for it. But apparently looks as if James is now of age and all responsibility will fall on him.

I definately would contact the local authorities in his town and report the issue. If this has been well over a month ago, the you can definately say that theft of services was involved. And most definately keep us updated on your progress, and dont forget to let this james kid know about the thread so he has the opportunity to defend his side of the story.

Hello the addressi shiped to was 418south canal st. in Newton Ohio,the snake involved was a Labyrinth Burmese male ; He contacted me threw faunaclassifieds and he told me that he had a striped boa that he wanted to know if i wanted to trade for him,I said yes and we were supose to send them out on the same day. I have the emails that he sent me if i can get my wife to help me i'll try to get them to send out.
 
To every one that replied to my add;Thanks for the interest. I didn't know that he was only 17, he had contacted me when i posted a ad for my Labyrinth for sale on fauna.and he told me that his buissness partnerswould not ship first but they agreed to ship on the same day. then he tried to say the snake was sick and had to take to the vet,but when i ask him to send me copys of the vet bills and to send my snake back i did not hear back from himfor about a week.at that time he still said that he was going to send me the other snake.now its been a month and half and still no snake or vet bills and no word from him.
 
Anyone interested in a copy of the emails between James and myself....Please send me a email address and I would be glad to forward you a copy.

Did you guys check out his photo on KS? My Lord! Those ears are monstrous! I am sure that NASA could use those to reflect the sun away from the Hubbell, or something!

Good thing I found out about this thread. I was planning on doing business with him. I was weary at first as he looked like he was 12. But he was buying a snake from me. I told him as he said he lived with his parents that they would have to say it was ok and all that before I would sell to him. But we talked over time and he was waiting on money to get to him before he would buy anything. He actually told me that he got a Laby male burm but he said he bought it. Now I know he is definately shady so I won't even sell to him. He backed out of a lot of deals I offered after the fact he accepted them and all that and luckily I didn't get the animals he wanted in (Triple Het Moonglow Boas) or I would be out money. He always wanted me to deliver the snake and he would never come pick it up at the Cleveland Reptile Show or meet somewhere. Always had to be delivered. Hence why I never did a deal cause without the snake fully paid for with delivery charge I would not go all the way to someones house and then have their parents or whoever they live with say they can't have it. But he always seemed shady to me and now I know he is for sure. Thanks for the warning.
