Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

:uzi: This has got to be the rudest of all sellers i have ever come in contact with. I have never had a seller talk to me the way this seller did.
I will never buy a thing from this seller ever!!! I don't understand why people who are in business to make money, feel they can just treat us anyway they want too. I ask him about shipping, and he said figure it out yourself. What?????????????????

in all my dealings with ben he has been nothing but up front and courtious. shoot he may be upfornt and maybe short (it you had that animals you would) but never rude and i was always pleased with the animals i got. we all have bad days maybe he was having one... i don't know but it doesnt sounds like anything i have ever dealt with him.

You're talking about someone with a pretty stellar reputation in the community. I'm not saying that makes him immune from rudeness, but can you give some background on what the situation was that culminated in that statement? If you have emails, copy them here.
 
We've done a number of transactions with Ben this year. Ben and his wife Stacey have been awesome to work with. Always there to answer questions via email or phone, or make sure we're well taken care of.

As this is the Christmas season and retailers field a lot of phone calls and questions from customers maybe you just got him on a bad moment.
 
Well in my opinion and prior dealings with ben i must say that he has proven him self to be one of the best out there . if your coming on here and slamming someone of bens stature and reputation you better damn well have some kind of proof too back it up i as well as everyone else is waiting to see what you have to offer as far as proof and could someone please contact ben and make him aware of this thread i for one would like to hear his side to this
 
I've done business with Ben Seigel Reptiles a few times this year. I've purchased herps from them as recently as a few weeks ago and have never been treated poorly by Ben or his staff.

It sounds like you may have left out part of the story.
 
John, proof has never been required on a BOI post, but it would be nice to have details.

My curiosity got the best of me and I did a little reading. In August, Sheila made a post about a mali she'd ordered that was to be her first reptile. You can read that one here . It turns out that it was a sick, wild caught animal. Since that time, if you look at Sheila's posts, she's been buying/selling/trading pretty regularly. In my opinion, this is someone who got bitten by the reptile bug, but doesn't have alot of experience with the hobby or know exactly what to look for. That's not a condemnation, just a possible explanation. If someone goes into things without much knowledge, disappointment is pretty likely.

As far as her opinion of Ben, she may have a valid gripe (like I said, a great reputation does not make someone immune from being rude), or she just may not understand that sellers may not always have unlimited time to gather information for a buyer. (Or maybe the shipping cost was already discussed or disclosed in the ad?)

Sheila, my opinion on this situation is this: "bad guys" lie, cheat, steal, scam. Posting a "WARNING!!!!" about Ben because he was, in your opinion, rude to you is highly overreactive. You may want to consider that not only is the reputation of the person in the subject line evaluated on BOI posts, but the character of the poster is exposed as well.
 
always been pleasant to deal with

ive bough numerous animals from ben at shows and he has always been very helpful and polite also ive never had anything shipped to me from him but have inquired about many animals and he has always been respectful and told me how much shipping would be with no problems jimmy hawk
 
Ive had the pleasure of doing alot of business with Ben over the years, and a good amount of business with him this season. On top of that I have been lucky enough to pick Bens brain on a number of occasions, both in person, and on the phone.

That being said, Ben will never win the Mr. Conginiality contest. Not many people who have as much on his plate could/would. Bens not a warm cuddly kinda guy, but he is HONEST. I wouldnt hesitate do do business with Ben.

Im sorry Ben rubbed you the wrong way, Im sure your not the first person he has, or the last. Im sure Ive rubbed many people the wrong way as well, thats life. That being said, I dont think people need to be warned not to do business with Ben, far from it.

Bens a good guy in my book

i find it hillariouse how sheila found the need to email me a nasty email? for what because i asked that you show somekind of proof or share your full story? gee if your conversation with ben was anything like the email you just sent me the be happy he only told you to lookup the shipping yourself. i would have told you the same thing that i told you in my reply email to you im really starting to get a solid picture of you and it includes a straight jacket :raspberry

I am not a recruiter for the lord hun, it is not a job for me. For those of you who wish to keep slamming me, go ahead, it always makes you feel better when you are the bully, picking on the little guy.

If Mr. Ben had been nicer to me, i am so sure i would have felt the same way all the rest of you do. But sense he was mad at my son, he choose to be mean to me, and i did nothing wrong to deserve his rudeness!!! :rolleyes:

Ummm, I guess you need an education too. Guess which word above is spelled wrong. Nuff is just a slang word, the word you used incorrectly has a totally different meaning and doesn't belong in the sentence.

All people asked for was what happened and a little proof. In the rules of the BOI it states that you can leave an opinion but if you want it to be credible then you better back it up. Now how hard is that? I can go on all night nitpicking your posts and we all get nowhere.

you mentioned nothing about ben being mad at your son in your original post! you didnt even mention that there had beenany conflict at all

leading us to believe that you were just inquireing about purchaseing animals no that there was a whole back story and when asked if there was a back story you comeback with the ole we're "slaming you" deffence when that was just not the case. sounds to me that between the back story ( that you are unwilling to share) and your behaviour on this thread if any rudeness was displayed by ben that youmay very well have brought it on your self!!!
