In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I just bought three Bearded Dragons and one Corn Snake from Jason Littel of Northwoods Reptiles at Sewerfest in Racine Wisonsin, and a vet visit yesterday has shown that the three beardies have a terrible case of coccidiosis. What a way to take advantage of a newbie to the hobby. Trust me people, stay away from this guy.

GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT

HEY Bill,
I think you have the wrong guy. First off I only sold one adult pair of hypo corns to a old buddy of mine. I didn't sell any other corns.
Second I don't have a problem with the dragons I have. They all have all been doing great. Third if you bought some dragons from us and had a problem why not a e-mail or phone call (we had buisness cards). We would've taking care of you we wouldn't sell unhealthy reptiles. We take pride in selling quality reptiles so people can enjoy the herps and their hobby and hopefully produce some of their own. Why don't you contact me [email protected] I'll take alook at what you got and see if their the dragons I produce. If they are I'll take care of you. The ball is in your hand I can't do anything unless you contact me.

Sincerly,
North Woods Reptiles
Jason Littel

I find this hard to believe....

I was also at sewerfest, still not sure why, BUT, I met Jason and seen that EVERY animal he had there looked great.

Please tell us more about the problem with the animals you purchased.

I have no interest in reptiles, but I took the Dragon anyways to assure that it receives proper care in the meantime.

This is a quote from the person that started this thread. Only a few weeks later and now your dogging a beardie breeder on the BOI. Please explain......

Bill
Sure would like for you to scan and post that vet report. If it stated that a minor amount of coccidia were present, I am sure since you must have done your research that you know that coccidia, like staph in humans, can be present as surface bacteria in beardies without doing damage. Let's see a little proof now that you started damaging a reputation.

Jason, you cannot even remember selling to me at Sewerfest? Wow I can see that I was just another easy sell for you. Yes Jason you ARE the guy that I bought from. You are heavier built with long dark brown hair. I contacted you and then you never got back. You said that you would get back right away if I had any problems, and well, you never did. Now that I posted a complaint here, you all of a sudden feel threatened because your reputation is on the line, and now you act like you really care about my situation. I do not have a scanner to scan the vet reports, but why would I lie people? I have absolutely no reason to make false accusations. I also thought that Jason's stock looked great. That combined with his low prices and my inexperience in this hobby made me decide to buy his stock. And as for that quote, a neighbor of mine had two bearded dragons that he wanted to sell, and I helped him by posting an ad for him. What is the big deal. You and all of your buddies can gang up on me and cover the truth all you want, but the truth must be known. Northwoods Reptiles should be avoided AT ALL COSTS!

Curious how you tried to contact him? Emails can get lost and I know from personal experience the week before and after a show are hectic (the show was just last weekend correct?). Sounds like just an issue of communication.

Parasite levels in bearded dragons can spike due to relocation and stress (such as a show). That's just the nature of the beast.

Just wondering.
1. Why did you take them to the vet? Did you notice problems or did you just want to have them checked out?

2. Exactly when did you contact them? because quite frankly I do not see a time allowance for them to get back to you. You just posted right away.

p.s. and before you play the "breeders ganging up on newbies" card.

I do not know them and could care less about them.
I am just after getting the whole picture.
If they are wrong then so be it.
If you just posted in haste....then so be it.
I just want the picture

From my limited understanding of Beardies through my experience with my boy, Coccidia is common for a beardie to carry, like salmanella (can't spell). My vet told me it can also be common to see limited amounts in a Leo fecal. The stress of relocating, or even the stress of a new handler mis-hadling or the new environment, or wrong environment, can cause a major imbalance of good and bad levels and bring this on.

You also need to give a breeder some time to get back to you on something (especially after a show). It doesn't look like you gave him much time to get back to you. After a show it can be crazy and things come up that you just can't check email or messages. But this does not let a breeder off the hook. They should always get back to you, just understand things come up.

Make sure your vet is qualified to make this diagnosis. If they are not a reptile vet they could be looking at perfectly normal levels of coccidia in the fecal and think that the prescence of any is the sign of a problem. A qualified vet should know what levels are normal and what are not. You should be able to ask them what the coccidia "count" is.

What brought the vet trip on?
Just a normal exam or were they displaying health problems?
It seems you have only had them for a few days so they could still be adjusting to a new home. My beardie did not eat for about a week when I first got him. Then bam....he hasn't stopped and boy can he chow down.

Hopefully this is all a case of mis-communication and a case of a new beardie owner being overly concerned(which is a good thing) about the health of his new "kids".

Hope this works out for everyone's best!

You claim to have gone to the vet. You claim you have a scanner. We are not saying you are lying, but you yourself proclaim that you are a newbie, and you may have seen the report of a few coccidia which is not a big deal, and gone off the deep end (and if so you owe this breeder an apology). Scan and let's see the coccidia numbers. Just do it.

Ok I do not know what connection you people have to Northwoods reptiles, but you obviously are on his side. I just emailed him again for the third time this morning and he still did not get back. How does he have the time to post on here, but not enough time to respond to my emails? I brought the Beardeds to the vet because their feces had a HORRIBLE smell. I know this smell is not normal for beardies, because my neighbor has kept beardeds for years and his never smelled nearly this bad. I took the beardeds to the vet the day after I bought them on reccomendation from my neighbor, as he agreed that the feces should not smell that bad. The vet did a feces check and stated that they had a very bad case of coccidiosis. The vet stated that the coccidiosis had to be due to poor husbandry, or an unclean food supply. The beardies were checked by Jospeh Caffarini, who runs a very good herp clinic close to where I work in Chicago. Now as far as this situation goes, I consider it closed. I am not going to argue with all of you. If you do not believe me, fine. I should have done my research on good breeders before I bought. I am guilty of that mistake.

Now your jumping the gun AGAIN.

If you check his posts, you may notice that they are made during the evening...... MAYBE he works all day.

Also, he said he would take care of the problem IF there is one. Slow your role and give him a chance. I honestly would do nothing due to the way you jumped, and also due to the fact that you have yet to post anything convincing that backs up your story.

I would love to see this resolved as I too am from WI........

Good luck to the both of you.

Bill,
I am not on anyone's side here.
If the feces is that stinky then you did the right thing by taking them in. I do not know of the breeder, nor of his husbandry practices, but I can say that through my experience with Leos, stress can do all sorts of things to their little systems and cause a natural level of parasites or coccidia to explode.
I am not a vet, therefore, am not qualified to say if this could occur over just a few days stress of a new home or not, or if it is the direct result of improper husbandry. I can only wish you both luck in resolving this and I hope your new beardies do well.

Happy Herping

WHY CAN"T YOU CONTACT ME

HEY BILL,
You sent out a third e-mail I haven't had one from you yet. Here's my cell phone # 920 207 1182 By the way I can always take a pic of the incomming phone calls and post it here. You live in Milwukee as your location says but you take them to a vet in Chicago ???? Why not the vet place on St Paul Street by Miller Park Or some other vets within a half hour instead of 2 hours. What's the name of the clinic? Can you call and have the info released to me? Can they or you send the paper work to me Jason Littel po box 232 random Lake,WI 53075. You say what connections I have with these people I'm not even sure who some of these people are. Your information isn't comming out right it makes no sense. You said you e-mailed me this morning I was also at work from 5 am till 2 pm and you said I didn't respond but I have no e-mail from this morning. As for some of you want to know how are dragons are cared for, In the morning my wife Becca who was at the show too, Feeds and waters them. When I get home I spot check and clean out the cages then I feed and water them again. They are feed crickets, romaine luttece, carrots, repcal dry food,
dusted with repcal calcium and vit. We take care of the dragons a couple times a day 7 days a week. IF you can't send or let me come over to prove this than I want a public appoligy there's no reason to start slamming someone without the proper truth and documents. I said I would take care of you if you bought dragons from us and I stand behind that. But I can't if I have no Proof and you should not be posting if you don't have the proof to back up what you say.

Sincerely,
North Woods Reptiles
Jason & Becca Littel

For the third time, scan the results and post them. You have not yet convinced anyone you actually went to the vet, if you have the results and a scanner what is the big deal about scanning them? A little hint: posting cold hard facts like the coccidia scan is protected free speech under law. Coming on here and making charges that someone knowlingly sold you a sick dragon, and hurting their rep by posting it, and then running away when asked for proof, is libelous and actionable.

Ok maybe you people did not understand me. I said that I consider this issue to be closed. I am not obligated to show anything to anyone. This is a free post where you rate your experiences with other breeders, and I did just that. So lets just leave it there. I also bought from three other breeders at the show, one being Garrick from Crested Gecko.com. I bought some leos from Garrick, and he helped me out with any questions I had, and is all around a great breeder. He deserves all of the praise in the world. I also bought from captive bred specialties. They also have good stock. I only give credit where credit is due. So if you want an apology, you have a long ways to go.

Where's the proof

Hey Bill,
You have to have proof in order to post. I'm really good freinds with Garrick it's funny because he was upset he didn't sell a single gecko for the first time ever at a show. He only sold other herps. So theirs a lie. I keep saying to get ahold of me and you don't so give an appoligy why can't you come up with the proof why can't you be an adult an appoligize if you mad a mistake. You have to many holes in your storey. I think people are seeing right threw you since you come up with excusses like the case is close you can't slander someones name with out proof. Why can't you give it to anyone?

Sincerely,
North Woods Reptiles

Actually he doesn't HAVE to have proof to post, but so far the only thing this thread shows is that he may be a buyer to stay away from.
