In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Warning I got Ripped off for Xmas by Mckyle

Done...taking it to my friend tomorrow to be notorized and faxing it off tomorrow right after that!! Nichole and Tristan please contact the sheriff's department as well, here is the number 1-864-503-4500, Spartanburg Sheriff's Department.

Just a little more info ... interested parties probably already know, but I figured I'd throw it out there anyway.

McKyle is also registered at geckoforums.net under the same user name. He lists his age as 22 there.

He purchased a gecko from Jessica Butler at Fallen Angel back in September and posted a Good Guy thread here. (he also posted at gecko forums back in Sept. about that transaction):
http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=148358

He also purchased a gecko from Brandi Baker (Fauna user brandib) around the last part of November and posted a Good Guy thread here 12-1:
http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=157179

In August of this year, he purchased an iggy from Nate Swanson and started a bad guy thread about the packaging (Yes, McKyle the liar, scammer and thief actually started a bad guy thread about packaging!):
http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=144220

And here's one from September just for irony and laughs:

Posted by McKyle, 9-10-09. "Am I the only one who gets pissed off when people don't bother to use correct grammar/spelling/etc. when they're trying to sell their animals? I mean, for god's sake. Take some pride in them! Just something that really bugs me, I guess."

LMAO! Honesty, character, integrity and decency apparently don't mean squat to McKyle ... incorrect spelling and grammar really bug him though!

Also, according to property records, the house at 205 Southfield Street in Inman appears to be owned by a builder, with a Jeff McDaniel listed as the "taxpayer".

Interested parties might consider (if they already have not) contacting Jessica, Brandi and Nate to see if names, email addresses, PayPal info, shipping info for "McKyle" correspond with what has already been posted by Ed ... in addition to contacting law enforcement officials ASAP, of course.

Nichole,

We spoke briefly via pm about two female pastels. At the time I was asking more than you wanted to pay. I feel badly about what happened to you. If you would like, you can have them if you can pay shipping. Let me know.

Dan Scalf

WOW!! thats really nice of you Dan. April i feel for you. I had some kid try and scam me a few months back on a Vision 622 cage. got me for $300 but i contacted eveyone i can think of and found his Parents on myspace and spoke to his dad about what his son did. The cops showed up at his door and his dad sent me a money order over night delivey out of his own pocket.

This little scumbag need to get Punished for what he did :NoNo:

Nichole,

Dan Scalf

That is really awesome Dan. Too bad there aren't more people like you in this hobby!

Wow, that is like, the NICEST, most generous thing I've heard anyone do in a really long time. Thumbs up to you, Dan!!

Tristian and Nicole, I hope you follow up the way April is. I can't imagine NOT calling the police immediately after a blatant confession to scam. I'm spiteful, so getting my money back via refund through PayPal would be the second thing on my mind, the first would be for that scamming little bastard to suffer.

If going to the police, I'd include:
- Printouts of the original Classified ad.
- The classified ads the pictures were stolen from.
- All e-mail correspondences in full.
- Copies of your PayPal receipts and e-mails confirming money was sent from paypal, as well as a bank statement print-out where the money was taken.
- Copies of THIS thread and all his responses.
- If you haven't deleted the texts out your phone, have those ready. (I'd even consider bringing phone records to prove you'd spoken with him, it was helpful in a case with a friend of mine)
- All the phone numbers everyone has given you in connection with his name/location, as well as his MySpace accounts, etc.
- anything and everything that you had dealing with this guy.

Label them and fax copies to the local PD. Call and NAG them to do whatever it takes. Than mail in copies.

I would have to agree with everyone else that something is NOT right. No one flaunts fraud and felonies in this nonchalant fashion... Wow Dan...I'm at a loss for words, haha! You're so generous, this world needs more people like you for sure. The pastels will make a great gift for my boyfriend, he's been so bummed out from the whole crappy transaction with Mckyle.

I'm sending you a PM about them right now!

Thanks so much!

Alright, sounds great :) I do like to halt shipping between the 20th and January 3rd, though, just to be on the safe side of things. So if you get it paid within that time frame, I'll knock a bit off of shipping for you since you'll have to wait.

I will begin acquirinig the funds immediately for repayment. However, I do expect the dispute to be filed in your favor. In that case, you will receive your money back at Paypal's discretion.

If it is not, I will have payment ($250) made by February 28, 2010 at the absolute latest - you can expect it before then, however.

I would also like to note that the 2 month timeframe is simply a precaution. However, since I no longer have access to the orginal funds, it is necessary for some sort of timeframe.

I'll have pictures posted of the attachments he sent me of the pastels

Right now I have to go to bed, I can barely stay awake.

Night guys.

It is so creepy to me that he sounded like a serious reptile keeper throughout most of your emails. I never would've guessed it if I had been you... The only thing that would be a red flag to me would be the extremely low price he gave you. The rest though... Dang!

I would have to agree with everyone else that something is NOT right. No one flaunts fraud and felonies in this nonchalant fashion... And who takes money from people just for funzies without expectation to actually GET the money?? Just a bystanders opinion,
Chelsea Lynn Gardiner

I am still not understanding why everyone keeps saying something doesn't feel right in all this. Stupid - egotistical criminals flaunt what they've done. Especially someone as young as 17. As I already said, what 17 year old wouldn't flaunt scamming people out of over $1k and pretty much got away with it. Strangely no one has even commented on that or seemingly taken it into account. And yes it really can be that simple. Why is this possibility even unfathomable to everyone????
A 17 year old kid scammed people out of over a $1k, seemingly bought new herps with it and then gloats. Hhhhhhhmmm doesn't sound to far fetched to me.

And the part about going through all this for no 'payoff' and why do it? Because he could. He even admitted that. Sometimes crimes yes are that simple. Do I believe the little asshole had no access to the money?? Absolutely not. Again none of my other post on any of this was addressed.

And one more little tidbit to think about. If he's lied this much and even possibly (I say possibly because there is NO proof that he did) lied about his identity why wouldn't he lie about having access to that money?? If the money was in the account and all the evidence was brought forth before PayPal then a refund would be issued very quickly. But yet it's going to take 30 days for a refund if you get it at all??????

I have nothing but empathy for the victims. As I said I have been scammed before and it was for almost $2k and the case was huge. Nail this little shit bag to the wall. IF he is 17 he and his parents aren't untouchable. IF he's not still nail this shit bag to the wall and hope that his has a really big, really mean cell mate. :reddevil:

I really really hope and pray he gets caught. If this ends up being a really elaborate scheme then I'll be the first to openly admit I was 100% wrong and further apologize for being so. I just wanted state my opinion and that hopefully everyone is looking at all sides of the coin on this.

For what it's worth, Nichole is 17 as well, according to her profile. Proof that age doesn't actually have a whole lot to do with how someone conducts themselves. If you're a scumbag, you're a scumbag no matter how old you are. I've seen people in their 40's act like this guy, rip people off and gloat about it.

What's important is that the people who are out money use every resource they have available to them, to make sure they get their funds back. And hopefully, to bring a little heat onto Kyle.

And while I'm here, why all the cursing? This isn't Hell, it's the BOI.

I was just about to make a public comment about that...
Just because you see somebody else do it, doesn't mean it is acceptable. Warnings and infractions are not generally made public, but that doesn't mean we are ignoring things.

I agree - I've been doing this for a couple years now (and before this I had other animal hobbies) and I'm 18. This kid should be held responsible regardless of age, it doesn't have to be about that! I am sending good vibes to those who've been ripped off in hopes they get their money back!

This is why you always make sure you get at least one or two additional pictures before sending any money. And check the image data to make sure they're recent. I do this even to people who are Good Guys on Fauna. It's too easy to fake stuff; that he was stalling when you asked for updated pictures is a giant red flag.

My paypal was not cracked - in fact, mine is sitting pretty with a couple of pennies in it right now.
Hmmmm, I was given the impression that you didn't have a PayPal account...
Mind telling us what your PayPal address is?
