So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

The worst part is, I truly do not believe he is even telling the truth about his injuries. Unfortunately, every single time I've encountered someone using hard-luck stories to gain sympathy defending themselves in a bad deal it has turned out to be a lie. It might sound very callous of me to say that but this has been born out 100% of the time, including with other scammers exposed on this board. I used to fall for these hard luck stories myself and have been screwed more times than I even care to recount. But most importantly, using these stories at all really exposes a manipulative mindset, which every scammer seems to excel at. The truth is, the hard-luck, if any, shouldn't even be mentioned in a business transaction. It's totally irrelevant. And if per chance any of it is true at all then what the hell is he doing trying to raise/breed high maintenance animals? That tells me that he doesn't really consider the wellfare of the animals to be important. In essence, he has painted himself into a corner with his excuses. If he is telling the truth about his injuries, which I doubt, then he obviously doesn't give a damn about his animals. If he is lying, then he doesn't give a damn about people. But it could be both. What a loser.
 
Pretty Obvious

It is pretty obvious to me (and probably most others) that JC is not going to take care of the problem as he should have. He should have taken care of the problems as soon as they happened and not ignore e-mails, ignore phone calls, put someone's e-mail address on Blocked list etc.etc. I have dealt with Both Morgana and Brian and they are both great people. I too can see that them and the others would get upset with the treatment they have received from JC.
JC you really should step up, be a man, and take care of them and stop trying to make them out to be the bad guy. The only one that is a bad guy in this situation is you and your buisness practices. Yes I understand people have problems from time to time and have reasons they can not take care of things immediately but acting this way is not the way to act when you are in the wrong. Just take care of them and stop trying to gain sympathy by trying to make them look like they are wolves and such. They are not after blood but rather what is rightfully theirs.
 
ill tell you what..my father died last night and it hasent stopped me from being able to handle business..maybe im super strong or who knows what but i find it comforting to have something to do versus oh pitiful me in a time like this.
he would have wanted me to keep going no matter what so in regards to death..its not a great excuse to check out for long..after all we are the living ..correct?
i didnt read all the hooplah but i did see someone else had a family member die also lately so i thought i would toss this in the mix..hope it fits..

OK guys here I am. My name is Pam Reid. I have personally asked J.C. not to respond to any post on this board and to stop reading them as well. I know that will make most of you mad but sorry I have my personal reasons that I will keep to myself. I have been in contact with Matt And Alison over this matter as of last night and I at this time have made myself personally responsible for their matters with J.C. I had asked them not to make this a public matter but due to all the posts I have read I have dicided to let all know. And that J.C and I will settle up in the end..... I find Matt and Alison to be very nice people and have had a very nice time with them on the phone. And as for Morgana and Yo; you to have been a great help to myself and husband. Thank You for being such good people I can not express that enough in words. I have known J.C. for over a year and a half and do know first hand what has happened in his life as far as his health so for those of you who feel you need proof I dont know what to tell you except I have seen some of it first hand. As for others of you that just felt the need to take a hard jab at him just for the fun of it I feel sorry for you that, that kind of thing makes you happy. For others of you that have a valid point I feel you have said your peace. The only post I got mad at was the one person that had the nerve to attack people that had a illness or handycap and said that J.C. had not buissness having chams if he was ill or could not take care of his pets. What right do you have to say that kind of thing to anyone. I was on a list one time that had a blind lady on it that had chams, are you saying she has no right to have them? And as for name calling?" a toothless ... That was just down right weard. When J.C. is back on his feet and after his wife has her surgery then he will be in a better place to take care of his business. He never asked me to help him and it took persuasion on my part for him to let me. I would do no less for any of my friends. Thank You for your time. Pam Reid

Well... I dug through my paperwork for our transaction and found hard copies of our email correspondence. My computer is new and the archived email file was dumped. I will tell you what you sent me;

"Brian, I am sorry about the whole Airborne situation, I will replace the DOA's, just keep the ones that have died so far in a plastic sack, lets give the remaining ones that are still alive another 48 hours, after that time, take them out and place them on a newspaper w/the date on it and then take another pic, we then will take it from there. I will replace them and make it right, I just need to see how many will not make it first. I am gonna hold some from this clutch back in consideration of what has happened, again I do apologise for how awful things worked out on our first deal, things WILL work out, I promise....."


Then in your response here on the forum you wrote; "Over the course of the next wk, his chams (along w/Brian's from Norcal Chameleons) started to die from upper respitory infections.
I did let them know of what was taking place and told them I had other clutches coming up and I would replace them once they started to hatch.

You see...You can't remember all your lies!!!!! I have proof and you slipped up and verified it!! The attached photo is the one you received and is dated as such! YOU ARE A CONFIRMED LIAR!!

Pam, it's nice of you to stick up for this guy, I'm personally glad to know that there are good people out there.

However, jc is most assuredly not a good guy at all. I am sincerely hopeful that he has not hornswaggled you into making good on his debts. It sounds like it would be right up his alley to do so.

As far as the comment about him not being able to take care of his animals so maybe he shouldn't have them, I think it is absolutely justified. He had them dying, and did nothing. He had them sick and then they died. He lied about having them, their condition, and even what, exactly, they were. This is not a handicap, this is a lying theif getting caught redhanded.

As far as the blind lady with the chams, blindness to some isn't so much a handicap as it is an inconvienience. Don't go jumping all over me one way or the other as I'm not taking a stand for or against any entitlement or acknowledgement of status as far as being handicapped or not. I know some blind folks that do just fine, better even than ol' jc as a matter of fact. Whatever his problem, and I'm still waiting for some sort of official proof before I believe it, he shouldn't have had those lizards in his care. PEROID. They died as a DIRECT result of his improper care of them.

Being handicapped is not necessarily a factor in reptile keeping, it can be but that is another issue entirely, but in this particular case, where poor ol' jc couldn't even pick up his hand high enough to answer his phone and didn't have strength enough to type an email explaining what was going on, I'm damn near exhausted myself just from this one, when he is so debilitated that he can't even do such small things as those, how the HELL can he take care of HIGH maintenance animals like chameleons? Like so much else when considering jc, this just doesn't make any sense. At least not to me, but then, I am not exactly known for being smart. Perhaps you could explain it to me in such fashion that even one so challenged to understand poor ol' jc, as I most obviously am, could understand.

Eh, probably not though, because I don't think there is any explanation other than he tried to STEAL from a lot of people and got CAUGHT.

have you ever been ripped off before..?

I have a couple of times,, once for $300.00.
now, it is not really even the money in the grand scheme of things 300.00 is not a lot of money.. but if anyone has been ripped off it is the:
1. You trusting someone enough to send them your money, 300.00 or 3,000.00 .
2. having that sunken feeling when you know the deal is feeling a little fishy...
3. have excuse after excuse thrown at you why what rightfully belongs to you has not been shipped,,,,,
4. opening a box, and seeing that what you thought was "adult" is actually juvenile,,what you thought was "female" is male..what you thought was "perfect" is actually mite infested, and sick..
5. having voiced your complaint with the seller, and trying to work out an ammicable resolution with them on the deal for them to tell you " tough".
6.sending email after email knowing the person is reading them and not replying.. calling them, knowing they are screening your calls..
7. and the only reason people like JC do it is because they can.I mean who is gonna fly to Idaho for 600.00 ( i Would but that is just me) and i realize most people would not do it.

this "board of inquiry" is here to expose the frauds ( JC ) and to let people know who the good guys in this industry/hobby are.
there are a ton of good people out there who i would not think twice about sending animals to on a promise they would pay in the future,,,
others have extended that to me in quite a few cases.. and no one has anything bad to say about me...

so you see what i am upset about is that feeling you have when you are ripped off... that sinking feeling in your stomach.

and then this JC moron comes on here, and tells the people he ripped off to " shut there hole" that is just not excusable! and i am not gonna stand by and watch it happen. Now have i been ripped off by JC,,, NO ,,,, but i have been ripped off by his kind and i ( and a hell of a lot of other) are sick and tired of it!

Yes I have been ripped off, and it was for a good chunck of change! I just hate to see someone kicked when they are down and he has not been up on things for quite a while. I never said that this situation was easy for any of us.

did it matter to you what the other person was doing in there life.. or do you, like all the rest of us have problems of our own...?

i guess my point to all of this is why whould someone else have to pay for what poor JC has gone though...?

if he could not fill his orders 100% then refund there money 100%
if he could not take care of his animals, sell off the collection and start over when he can. or at least stop "trying to sell" the animals if he cannot hold up his end of the deal.

if you send me 300.00 for an animal,,, what would you expect in return,,, what you paid for or excuses..?

this is not about JC and his condition,,, it is about his theft of other peoples money! and the way he acted when they called him on it! i bet your husband would not stand for someone to tell you to " shut your pie hole" face to face would he..?

JC and I have talked about what was said.... And no I did not like geting the shaft from the person that wronged me. But at least JC has someone to step in to try to help him when things go bad. The person that pull stuff on me had no one step in for him...would I have been happy if someone had... you bet ya it would. So therefore if I know how it feels when I think someone wrongs me ... Then why would it be wrong for me to try to help out a friend keep in good standing when the chips are down for him. What are friends for anyway? to say man you are on your own. That would not be much of a friend to me. I can understand some of my friends not liking what I am doing right now but regardless of how they feel... to me they are still my friends.
 
Rectify The Situation

Are you going to clean up the mess from J.C. ? That is indeed a bold step and thats between you and J.C. . The damaage has been done to his reputation, but to right the wrongs would at least put an end to many sour deals. Again, quite a gesture on your part. I for one will be glad to settle my transaction from over a year ago... Honesty and integrity are necessary tools for dealing in the business world. Without those qualities, you will eventually get tripped up and out. I truly hope you are not going to be posting here in a year to tell us of a deal gone bad.

The wrongs of JC will be settled

I talked with Pam for at least an hour and a half last night and I will go on the record that I felt her to be a caring, thoughtful individual that will be paying JC's debt to me. I had said from the beginning if things were righted I would say so and they seem to be, thanks in TOTAL part to Pam and not because anything JC did. It will not be one lump payment but at least it is coming back. I will admit that I am not happy about the way this is going down--a good person picking up a horrible one's tab--but Pam is an adult and feels this is necessary, so fine with me. I did, however, try to talk her out of it as in the end I fear that she will be a victim of this cockroach, but she stood firm behind her decision. As long as she makes good on her promise I really can't complain though. After all, if it were not for this site and the Board of Inquiry I would still be at square one with no money, JC and I both know this no matter what he says.

I want to send my thanks out to everyone who lent their support to this post and all of those who I have done business with that chimed in and went to bat for me--it is nice to confirm that I do conduct myself in a good manner and my business is appreciated. I also want to thank the moderators of the BOI and whoever devised the idea for this site (you are a genius). I realize I was boarderline on a couple of my posts and I appreciate that you understood the situation and let it fly. I also realize if it were not for this site I would still have nothing from what JC stole from me and there is not enough thanks I can give for that. This board works, bottom line. I will obviously see how things continue on this post and chime in as needed. I do want to be clear though that Pam's settlement does not mean that JC is any less of a thief, however, and that if anyone wants to do business with him you are taking quite a big gamble.

Matt, you must remember that it is on part of JC that I am taking care of things. If he had put his foot down and told me to but out then I would of. I am not overstepping him. I am working with him. But not to confuse things, what we talked about lastnight still stands.
 
I think it is really nice of you (Pam) to step in and help him, but I have to say, JC being part of your helping, you already said he did not ask you to help, I'm sure he didn't aregue with you when you said you would step in and clean up after him..when he has people on here running his name into the ground,he still stole from people,,,and as for people making fun of the "handicap" I really don't think that is what he was doing..it's the "handicap" making fun of his own self. I think that is what the whole making fun of was, reading the post he wrote, is just asking for pity, why should people be feeling sorry for him? If anything he should have been on here, saying he is SOOO SORRY..it's not right any way you look at it, he is able to get on here and cry about how the wolves are after him, but he couldn't return their calls or e-mails, or tell them he was sorry for ripping them off??? And he did rip them off, no matter how you want to look at it, he shouldn't have spent their money, untill they had what was coming..I'm not a rich person by no means and I don't sell reptiles for a living, it is a hobby, but not a living, there are times I sell something, no matter how broke I'am or what kind of sale I see, or how much I'm dying to run off and take the girls on a shopping spree, I would not spend the money untill the person has their animal and is totally happy with it! Sorry, i hardly ever jump in any of these threads, I know none of the people in this situtation at all, you just remind me of my sister getting played over by her boyfriend a million times and still not being able to see the truth, and JC's whole story, makes me sick to my stomache!! I have a cousin that is in a wheelchair, she has muscle problems and can bairly use her hands, she has tons of problems, she would never do someone like that, and she would never beg for pity like that. I know this whole message will probably eerk you (pam) really I don't mean to offend you, I think you are a really stand up person for standing by a scum, you must take your friendships very close to your heart...everyone should have a friend like that.
JC needs to get on here and tell people he is sorry!!!! Or at least e-mail or call them, if he don't want to admit it to everone.

Pam it is honorable for you to step up and want to do this for a friend but the fact remains the same. JC stole money form people, avoided any contact with them about resolving it, and still has not done a sincere apology to these people. Of course he is going to be happy that someone else is going to step up and take care of his debt so he does not have to (most bad guys would love that). He is the one that owes the money/animals and he is the one that took the money so he is the one that should be taking care of the problem and not allowing someone else to take his responsibility away and he get off Scot free. Hell If he has had the problems he stated I feel bad for him but that is still no excuse for his behavior. His behavior has been childish, immature, and very unprofessional. He wants to be a buisness than he needs to try a little harder to act like it and not try and pawn off the responsibility on someone else and not try and make himself look like the victim and the real victims look like Wolves.

What is the status of your situations? I have not from J.C. in regards to completing our transaction as of yet. Have you two been able to work things out with him? If you do work it out, it would be good to let people know that side too. J.C. needs to see that we are willing to post positive remarks if there are any.

I see that things seem to be falling in order for Matt, and I could not be happier to see it. I have never dealt with JC, but I have dealt with Matt. He is top of the line when it comes to the chameleon people I have met. I have had the pleasure of corresponding through e-mail, on the phone, and in person with him and he has proven himself to be polite, honest, and friendly. I would jump at the chance to do business with him again. He has top of the line animals and they stay that way because of his competent and devoted care. To reinforce the magnitude of his generocity I will relate one of the experiences I have had with him...before I had even met him in person he offered to provide me with his surplus cage supplies because he new that I was having cage issues. It is nice that things are finally working out for you, Matt, and I will keep my fingers crossed that it actually comes through.

I promised I would post when payment was being made. I received my first installment today in the mail so yes, it is being taken care of so far :}
I am not 100% comfortable with the situation. The person who is paying back the debt has a heart of gold and is a very good friend to JC and he should count his blessings, but I will say, I do feel bad taking HER money!
She has assurred me, this is what she WANTS to do to help him out and they will take care of things with her when he gets back on his feet.
Someone please tell me not to feel bad!!!!!!! (but I do)

I WILL CASH THE CHECK TODAY, BUT HAVE NO DOUBT THAT THE FUNDS WILL BE AVAILABLE. THIS FIRST PAYMENT IS NO THANKS TO JC WHAT SO EVER. IT IS PRETTY LOW THAT HE NEEDS SOMEONE ELSE TO PAY HIS DEBTS ON MONEY HE SHOULD HAVE NEVER SPENT. WELL, EVERYONE GETS THE IDEA OF WHAT I THINK OF JC.
