    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I think the webslave is more than able to distinguish from a lighthearted jab and a nasty remark.
Also a responce back can be an indication of how such jab was taken
And I agree that no full name should be a bit of a higher point value , as many times as people have been reminded

I think the system looks pretty good. I like the ratings you gave all the warnings. There is one thing I think could be added. Perhaps a warning for shouting. It could carry a pretty low penalty. I know no one likes trying to read messages in all caps.
Regardless of what some people think, it doesn't grab your attention, it hurts your head...
Or mine anyway :D
I think in the end the warning system will make things easier for the moderators, not harder.

Otter, I believe I can actually eliminate 'shouting' at the system level. I didn't initially implement it, simply because I thought there might be times when I actually might need to shout.....

As far as distinguishing between a lighthearted (or lightheaded) jab and a nasty remark, I will give the benefit of the doubt. It usually isn't until the second and third exchange that you usually know what was really meant. That's the time that the penalty flags will be dropped on the field. Darn. I Actually like the name 'penalty flags' rather than 'warnings'. Wonder how hard it would be to change it? Probably more than I'd want to mess with, I guess.

Hoe about points for calling people RETARDS? that sounds like it should be up there in the category for racism or at least some sort or prejudice. All I know is in a professional conversation I would not use the word Retard.

I haven't really read through this whole thread, I've kinda skipped around, but I've been pondering an idea that I thought you might want to consider...it may not be the greatest idea but it might not hurt to run it by everyone to see what they think.

Since I've been a member, I've prided myself on having zero (0) warning points until I let myself get caught up in a thread where I posted an unacceptable image (although humorous) but after looking over and seeing my 3 points now, I'd love to have a "buy back" option...you know, maybe a buck a point...I know the limit is set high, and most may not bother, but it may give some more of an insentive to reimburst you for some of your troubles, or help out in the donation dept. I know it's not ALOT of money, but if 40 members buy back 60 points between them,that's $60 for you and your troubles :) It's just an idea...for those of us who like keeping the slate clean.

PS: I am aware of the fines, and I think they seem to do the trick, but thought this may be another option for some of us who have not experienced a fine first hand.
