In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy WARNING- MINDY FOSTER, (MindyFoster1126)- SCAMMER!!

they receive the ban message, but the activity log continues to show them doing whatever they were doing when the ban took effect (so we see them in a particular forum)
I just checked, and this is what happens. When an account is banned, it is basically frozen in place. They can look at that particular page forever; but trying to navigate to another page (even within the same thread) or refresh will call up the ban screen. From that point forward, they will see nothing but that screen; unless they delete the cookies, which will enable them to view the site as a guest.
From past experience, some people keep coming back periodically, just to see if it's going to work

Red Flags I Have found:
1. When she sent pictures of animals, some were in aquariums, some were in rack tubs. Some were on Aspen, others were on Paper and others were on Cypress.

This is kinda confusing!
I can understand the aquarium part, but the rest doesn't make sense.

I refuse to use paper as a bedding personally, but I do use cypress for some of my snakes and aspen for others, and even use crushed walnut for a couple.

So is that a Red Flag?!

The multiple different types of bedding was the red flag... you either use one or the other, not four different kinds generally.

I use 2 kinds: sani chips for my large Aspidites; paper towels for everything else. I used to use cypress also but it was hard to clean.
Is is easier for cleaning purposes to have less variety in the substrate department.

Stolen photos may represent four breeders with four substrate types.
Stolen photos may also show multiple cage systems: I use three types but everything that would be for sale would be in the same rack system, all on paper towels, all with the same type of water dish. Most breeders will do things this way out of convenience. When you ask for an additional photo from a legit breeder, it will likely represent that systematic approach to husbandry.

I use cypress for my Agkistrodons
I use Aspen and Crushed Walnut for my Crotalus and Sistrurus, depending on the animal.

So the generalization of using just one type of bedding isn't realistic.

Thanks Jon

I think the person who started the thread should of made it alittle more clear. Kind makes it seem like if you don't just use one type of bedding then that throws a red flag. JMO

you could make the generalization that a single type of bedding would be used for a given genus by a single breeder.
You don't typically see 4 different types used by one person for all their ball pythons; they may use one for adults and another for babies but that's about it.

I do see your point though.

I don't want to take this thread off the real topic that it's attended for anymore then I have. I just wanted to understand the one part more clearly that I was curious about.

She stole $600 from me. I have a text from her "husband" Lance saying "thanks for the two new cellphones and a new ball python." "F*ck off!!!" Thank goodness I pursued and have my bank going after them now. People please be careful! They have nothing for sale and will give you the best deal in town. I should have been smart enough to know it was too good to be true.

For five years now,I've watched people rip each other of on here,fb,whatever.

Why is it that I haven't heard of one person getting on a plain, taking a drive or bus to go get your shit back?? $600? I love driving across country.

I hitched hiked to Cali twice when I was younger. I drove twice,I've been to almost every state by car or hitch hiking.

Get your stuff back,of put fear into these dirtbags so they will stop. Lawyers suck, they think they are the worlds rulers . They will get paid, you get squat.

Maybe I should start a co. That goes and gets these critters back from the dirtbags who took them, stole or swindled.

Give me a call. Me and my Goat will go get your stuff.

I thinly my testosterone is flowing today.

Thanks Jon

Mike, I will attempt to clarify my previous statement regarding "Red Flags"

#1- When someone contacts you attempting to initiate a trade deal, offering up animals that are worth substantially more than the ones they are attempting to trade for... That is a RED FLAG!

#2- When this same person forwards you pictures of (8) different animals of the same species (of similar size) and:

(1) picture shows an animal in a glass aquarium on Aspen
(1) picture shows an animal in a ARS Hatchling tub on Cypress
(1) picture shows an animal in a sterlite tub on Newspaper
(1) picture shows an animal in another glass aquarium on Newspaper
and other pictures show different flooring in the background.....This would be a Red Flag for me!

This isn't rocket science, but the (3) different bedding/ substrate combined with the (4) different types of enclosures gave me a slight hint that these animals may not all belong to the same individual.

As others have commented, I think it is unlikely that a keeper would have a combination of using glass aquariums and rack systems while using (3) different types of bedding for all the same species of similar sizes.

Furthermore, A RED FLAG is an indicator to use caution! It does not prove anything!

I hope you find this explanation sufficient

Common sense is such a hard thing to grasp for many!

a few years ago on a radio control helicopter forum, this is what some guys actualy did.
it turned out the thief lived just down the street from a few forum guys.
on the forum when confronted about being paid a visit , he warned that he had weapons and would use them.
they checked the house for a few days and determined that it was just a punk kid, so they knocked on the door , went in and requested the stolen goods.
the story had a good ending because they indeed recovered everything stolen from multiple people and no one got hurt
BUT
doing this is as much against the law as stealing is, plus it could have been dangerous, in some states you can get shot for entering someones home..
you never realy know who you are dealing with (this goes both ways)
i've seen some youg ones here steal and lie , go as far as making up fake pictures to pretend the animals are dead and still have the nerves to go to reptile shows, where anyone who he stole from could just go and wait him out and deal with them the good old fashion way.

i do agree that it would be nice to just go there , take what's yours and leave, but there's always a risk.
i don't think getting shot for 600$ is worth it and again this could go both ways..people get shot for less these days
yet bad apples everywhere keep doing it..

i'm glad i found BOI it has saved me headakes for sure and added some never trust sellers on the list, i'm from canada and it has me asking importers where animals came from and will refuse to buy if they come from #!#@#!

i just find that the stories i read here are more troubling then any other forums i'm on because these deal with live animals.. more often the none they are the ones who suffer..

That was a nice break down of what you were implying. Thankyou!

I would of used it when first explaining the situation, it's good illustration to help explain your point.

I understood from the beginning, so the " rocket science " and " common sense " comments are not really necessary.

This looks like it means exactly the way it was written (no common sense needed). I do not see any other explanation or otherwise. Unless there's a secret formula that changes this into saying something else, not sure, didn't go to Rocket Science School....

Well, apparently from your post....you actually were confused.
Thanks Jon
