Hey folks this has been fun, but I too must go to work and earn a living, and now I will have to work extra hard since I screwed up this huge income I could have had selling to Critical Bill. I have only gotten to page 18 on this thread, but as Critical Bill points out.....I am just too ignorant to see anything relevant on either side of this fiasco. This could never go to court as all the attorneys would die laughing with the so called proof that has been submitted. (I reserve the right to change my mind after reading thru the full thread) Just have had too much fun posting.

Hey Nick, and Snakeboy, I would be glad to host a civil meeting to get this ironed out. Think it would do you both a world of good to clear the air and get a fresh start. Tis the season. You never know you may be able to sell the movie rights and live happily ever after.

To speak on the other side of things though, despite what may or may not have occurred with Nick and others, there are truths that people should know about things Nick has not defended himself. I have worked for him in the past and we have had difference of opinion on things but I was never done wrong by him in any way.

For one, someone mentioned earlier that he sent nick two female retics in trade for a big female boa. I had seen these animals and the "slight facial scarring" he forgot to mention was much more than that. These animals came in with their nose rubbed down to the bone, and would not eat for months. If I personally received these animals I too would not have sent anything in return. Sure it was shady if he did not send the boa at the same time but it definitely was missleading on the trader's part to send messed up animals on trade without mentioning that the animals (retics) in question were less than b grade at best. They were definitely worthy of being on the animal police shows.

About Josh-the main topic on this forum. I am unaware of any agreements made as far as what Nick agreed upon. I know he worked in the store and was paid something, along with complimentary rodents for his snakes. Nick did not just let some kid work in his store for nothing for the whole summer and then say "oh I'm not going to pay you."

The chameleon guy-whether or not nick went to madagascar or not is not important. I've read about local animals and how they're named after the city where the catcher came from, or where the airport is. Unless you catch an animal yourself, or know enough to tell the difference you will never know if the animal is "pure local." If you have a red sambava female and you are happy with it, then that's what is important. This is the reptile business. You only need to trust the animal. If some guy says its a canary gtp thats captive bred and its blue green and white with noose marks around its neck and bite scars all over it, then don't buy it.

Dark Forest had many satisfied customers. Like Nick says they keep to themselves. When you deal with selling living things there are too many factors in play for everything to be perfect. Once a specimen leaves a business the owner has no way of controlling what happens. I have had problems myself from reputable businesses, and none with Nick's animals. I'm sorry if some people got the crappy end of the stick, but you could have gotten animals from Jesus himself, and if there was a problem with the animal you'd be on here trashing the hell out of him too.

Think if you were there to supervise you would see just where their fingers were placed. But on second thought you could just stay at home and smell their fingers when they returned.

These shenanigans are fun to read through. I signed up just to post my experience with Dick and I got sucked in. Anyway, it's crazy how people can read through these threads and all of the posts that the one admin just put up today, and still be like "Neahhhh these are just some people with alot of time on their hands." Generally speaking, I think we would all agree that Adolf Hitler was an asshole. Do we all know him personally?? No. But I'd still be willing to say he's a bad person because of his actions. Those who rolled with him probably would argue that. "Well, Heinrich Himmler said he was a good guy and a blast at parties. And hey, if he's so bad, why are so many people coming to his rallys?"

I have really enjoyed wasting my day on this site. Don't know when I have had such unexpected entertainment. Thought I would just introduce myself and put in my 2 cents worth of personal knowledge I have.

But wow, I have now become a jealous, ignorant, scumbag, growing who knows what in my greenhouses and have lost an up and coming landscapers business, all because I tried to say something positive about a person paying his rent and that he has never done any harm to me.

Can't stay up any later but will try to check in tomorrow. that is ifn i be havin the smarts enuff to ever find this hear cite agin. or for that matter evin rememberin this cite. Thanks all .....it has been enjoyable .

One other concern, do you have to have reptiles to keep from being banned? This site is a hobby onto itself. I've really enjoyed everyone's words of wisdom, especially Critical Bill's, You really get into it. If you really are in the landscaping business, we will probably cross paths and I would enjoy seeing more of you and not just your one fingered employee driving by. Look forward to hearing from you and sharing some words of wisdom in the future.

Hey Deborah, I "manufacture" some pretty good Organic fertilizer myself and if you haven't guessed already it is loaded with trace elements. Guess that is how I have stayed in business since 1462 and earned enough money to pay for that $5 license and survived the stigma that is associated with such a haneous crime

Hey it is all approved for 52 houses and with all your knowledge now would be the perfect time to develop It' s for sale. Will even throw in most of the plants. Hell, I'll even except your cashier's check. Hope we can do this before you loose your shirt in the non supervised landscape world. Maybe you should write a book on how to accomplish what you have done particularly with no supervision. I am sure a ton of landscapers would pay big bucks to learn your secrets. Then you might actually be able to afford the property.
