In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Warning on a possible dishonest seller "Covington Reptiles"

You mean we're NOT supposed to keep our betas in grape koolaid?
DOH!
No WONDER they've been dyeing....

Here is a good laugh for everybody! The guy posting the "red" ball pythons just emailed me and told me that he was just joking and it was just a hoax. I'm sure that's why he posted several different adds over a couple days, spoke to a dozen people about selling them to them and took multiple pics of them emphasizing that they were in natural sunlight so that you could tell it was not a scam. What a jerk! Evan Stahl

Who is he?

Within one week this person tried to sell a normal ball python as a Pastel, and two red-dyed ball pythons. If he tried it once he might try it again. It would still be important to post his name and address. Does anyone has it?

Thanks.

the loser parade continues...

Anyone else think that jesse underhill is out at the store
buying up Gatorade right now?

Gino 'In Da Bronx' Beniquez

Since this person is now supposedly saying it was all a joke, it sounds alot like the Pastel incident. He got caught and is trying to save face and cover his rear so that people don't think he is the scammer that he is. I know for a FACT that this person is someone I will avoid like the plague.

Anyone remember the Cal king from a few years back that had vivid green where the white should be? And who says a great idea will only work once lol...Angie and I are by no means ball morph experts but we had a real good laugh when we saw pics of the new "Gator-Aid Balls"...ten thousand dollars for an extremely well hydrated snake?...Oh, that's right, he was just kidding...If I had dropped a couple grand his way you think he'd have let me in on the joke?...Good work, guys, and once again props to the webslave for this site :*)

I got a copy of the e-mail and I think there was just a little miscommunication.

Unless of course the wrong one was forwarded to me.

But alas it is a false alarm for now.

I keep having browser errors when I try to put up the email here so this is me typing in the email he sent me. I have it on my drive. Evan Stahl

Here is the last email that I sent him:

"You are setting yourself up for one major lawsuit and if somebody pays that much you will also be a potential felon that the FBI will follow up on. Why don't you just drop the adds? You are being laughed at all over the net."

then I get a different reply, even though he did pull like six adds then? So you be the judge. Why pull the adds if you are not a liar?

"do you really think that i would be dumb enough to pull something like this. if this was ahoax why would i advertise it publicly. if anyone got screwed it is me unless this turns out to be the real thing"

I'm way lost!

Ritchie

I got a copy of the e-mail and I think there was just a little miscommunication.

Ritchie,

Which e-mail are you referring too and what was the miscommunication about?

Unless of course the wrong one was forwarded to me.

Who forwarded you an e-mail? The wrong one, are there more than one?

But alas it is a false alarm for now.

What is a "false alarm"? The e-mail or the very existence of the red ball pythons?

Regards.

Danielson,
the answersyou seek are in Evan's post.

It was the e-mail to him.

wax on wax off. gotta go take care of a hungry baby.

peace out and happy Memorial Day everyone

So then:

Hes pulled some ads for the snakes, but NOT admitted it was a hoax???? I think I'm lost too.

I agree totally that he should wait until they shed to sell them. And he should also be sure that he is not claiming that this is a proven gentic trait ( that issues already afoot though based on what I've seen here). But, what happens if they shed and they are still red??? Unlikely as that may be, I'd love to see it happen. I wonder how many people's heads would explode!:D

The Brotherhood of the Ball might have to admit another member.

Scenarion number one.

If they shed and they are still red. Well then my foot taste pretty darn good. And he should hang on to them and breed them and sell the babies himself. Just 8 babies and he will have a good sized house with a good sized yard.

Scenario number two.
If they shed and he re dyes them and claim they are red. We will never know....at least not until someone buys them.

I personaly spoke with the vendor soon after the first ad was posted in the classifieds and was told that the "red" balls were the result of a breeding of a het. for carmel albino male to an imorted female (presumably by the vendor), and to his shock and amazement two "red" babies were produced.

This "vendor" never had ball pythons for sale before that I know of (and I cruise the ads every day). He then posts for sale a Pastel ("from his own line") for $1,000 in what was clearly a normal nice-looking baby ball python. He then claims to have at least one hetero for caramel albino adult male (If only I could afford one...) which he breeds to a normal female and claims to obtain not one, but two recessive (they have to be recessive)new morphs in his first clutch. He obviously knows about the existence of morphs as he probably bought his caramel albino from RDR, VPI, etc. Now instead of going back to NERD, Clark, RDR, VPI, etc. and offer these cutting edge morphs (they have been known to pay in excess of $50,000 for new morphs) he puts them up for bid in KS. Does that make any sense at all?

OK, I'll jump in since i know Marshal at Covington Pets.

I don't know details, but I do know that HE did not soak it in Gatorade. It has an orange belly too so it was soaked. But he biught it as an orange ball python. Those are the facts I know. I will not speculate on anything else.

I actually see this a couple times a year in Georgia, particularly from a pet shop in Gainseville.

BW,

So you've seen the animals in question? If you have and agree that they've been soaked, I'm guessing Marshall knows this as well? If he didn't do the soaking, I hope he will openly name those that did.

BWSmith,

Your input on this matter is greatly appreciated. Please post your complete name because if not your post might get deleted.

So you know he bought them as orange ball pythons. I'm glad to hear he is not responsible for the dyeing then.

Now if this statement is factual (and I don't have reason to doubt it is), would you care disclosing the name of the shop. Honestly we all want to get to the bottom of this.

Thanks.

I can't remember the name of the shop for sure and I would not want to post the wrong name by accident.
