In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Warning Points System Mod

Interesting how in your analogy Rich, the cops are given a pass for violating the same rules/laws/regualtions for which they continually beat up the onetime bully(s).

You see, the double standard, in any analogy, can be the excuse for any behaviour by anyone.

Since you choose to utilize that method of operation, there is little that anyone, as has been proven time and time again, to prove to you that any opinion other than your own my have substance enough to merit consideration.

Just IMO, but if Rich had extended the enforcement powers to a different, or additional, group of 40, say the top 40 in peer-awarded Karma, I think it a safe bet that the additional deputies would have pushed a couple of folks to triple their current warning points by now, biased drunken slobs that we all are. And that's with me abstaining. :D

Seems to me that only the bully would be complaining about such treatment. Everyone else just may be quietly applauding from the sidelines...... :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:

Does it rich? Must they rich?

I reckon it's a weekend of disappointments. I thought you were able to see just a tad higher than you apparently can.

Gentlemen My name is Michael McGrath and No I did not apply to the War Room. Mr Foster please get your facts straight. Plain and simple do not try and create ;ies to cover for the things you have done in the past.

Did not state any facts.. Made a stab in the dark on it due to about the same mentality level the two separate parties have thus provided on two very separate threads on two very separate forums. You are the one jumping to conclusions thus giving some reason to question your real or perceived role in all of this.

I have a quick question about the new "mods", I haven't followed this thread in it's entirety so forgive me if it has been covered. The way i understand it at least three additional people have the power to issue warning point, don't know how they were chosen nor really care, but i have noticed something that doesn't look right. Has it always been the policy to issue warning points for the same post by several different moderators?

It seems a bit excessive for someone to get warning points for a post by a mod, and then get warned for the same post 2 more times by 2 more moderators.

If I don't put enough money in the parking meter and a cop writes me a ticket, all the other cops that drive by aren't getting out and writing tickets for the same offense.

Is it intended for things to work this way or is it something that just hasn't been brought up or addressed yet with the new system?

Yes it is by design. Look at it this way, if someone is getting a minor offense like a speeding ticket, yes, there will be only one for that offense. However if someone is in the act of committing a more serious offense, relatively speaking, say murder, than every cop on the scene will likely pitch in to try to STOP that crime. Probably a pretty poor analogy, but perhaps you get the picture. The warning points are discretionary, so the mods can choose however they wish to use them. Or not to use them. It is NOT mandatory simply because the power is there.

Still doesn't make any sense if you don't have level-headed moderation to begin with.
Like Wes has stated a few times now, where's the consistancy in this method?

There will be no PERFECT consistency. Period. All you can hope for is the best we can do. If that is not good enough for you, then it is not good enough for you, and you have to make your own decisions about what you, personally, want to do about it armed with that knowledge.

Personally, I am overjoyed for you that the rest of your world is so perfect and consistant that you find this site the glaring exception.

Compared to those sites that have a written expectations of members and moderation standards; not a shoot from the hip method with over-emotional mods with grudges and agendas, your site is far from gaining respect from active or new members that want your site to carry the weight and benefit that it should in this industry. I'm not trying to beat it down, but help you see it from another perspective.

OK, this has been running for two months now, even amidst claims of doom and gloom from some corners. Which obviously hasn't happened, as far as I can tell.

Has it helped? Hindered? Hurt anyone?

What weaknesses are now evident?

Anything needing to be tweaked?

Personally, it has taken some of the weight off of my own shoulders, which was hoped for. So to all you who have pitched in to try to help make this work, I say THANK YOU!.

Well Rich, I will say from my perspective, that overall its a good thing. Some minor glitches but have been worked through. I would think that the new system is a success not only from the user standpoint but also for yours!

From what I can see, things seem to be going quite well now. I like the idea that some of the rules have been relaxed a bit, in certain applications, and I like the fact that it seems that those who need a "ding" are getting it. There will always be "little things" here and there, I'm sure.....but as it's going right now, I think it's looking good!

If I had to think of something that could be mentioned, I have noticed that a few points have been given out for very old posts.....an old thread gets drug up, and someone gets "dinged" for something they said 3 years ago, lol. I think perhaps we should remind the mods as we do those who drag up old ads from 2003.....be sure to check the date before acting. I think these instances are few and far between......but I figured you'd be disappointed if I didn't whine about something. ;)

I think the only ones that would be hurt by this would be the mods who sell stuff. I would think they would make a lot more enemies by passing out points. Not necessarily arch nemesis type of enemies but people that would not buy from them nor recommend them and may even discourage others from doing business with them or starting a negative thread about them. I skipped over a lot of posts in the middle so forgive me if this has been discussed before.

I've noticed that, too, Cat...and believe it or not, I taped my fingers together and didn't type a word (how tough was that, lol)

Overall, I think most of the initial bumps have been smoothed...There are also a few more names popping up with colored coins, so there is a bit more involvement.

Your welcome Richie...a few lessons I have learned such as trying not to do the dinging in threads I am personally involved in and such. Now go breed your corns there bud.
