    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

And Sammy, I understand that. However, there is a part of me that still longs for the days of old. Call me an eternal optimist or a fool, but I would like to still believe that Rich still has some of the same principles that he had when he started this site. I can see where the "slack" of owning this sight could cause someone to become very cynical but to ignore obvious rule infringements should still not be allowed.

Trust me Sammy, I'm not holding my breath.

Actually, Griz, I think you need to look down to make sure YOU are on the correct boat, as you may not be on the one you think you jumped onto. Please show me where "karma abuse" is on the list of warnings. When I rolled back enforcement of the rules, this one was taken off the list as being not worth my trouble to try to enforce. When the higher memberships were enabled to enforce the rules, "Karma abuse" was NOT included in the rules. Personally, I just got tired of the petty bickering that some members here engaged in using that part of this site. So yes, I am correcting you as you are mistaken.

Now, that being said, if you are taking issue with what Ed said in karma to you, then make this worthwhile to me to investigate. I will publish the karma statements from both YOU and ED for the past three months. If YOURS are more abusive on average than ED's are, then you ante up for a BENEFACTOR membership here ($100). If Ed's, as an average are more abusive than yours, then I will GIVE you an Endowment level membership ($250).

If this karma abuse issue is that important to you, let's just SEE who is the more abusive of it. Cards on the table, gents.... :reddevil:

If you're going to have to be paid to check, and that's what it boils down to because if Griz is proven correct you are out nothing but have another benefactor member and if he is not proven correct, you have more green in your account.

What if Griz has no interest in a benefactor membership even if it was free?

IF ed has abused his mod status, and his refusal to answer some simple questions sure makes it seem like he not only has but knows he has and is hoping we will simply forget about it, don't you think that you, at titular lord and master, king if you will, should not only be aware of it but DO something about it?

What's the point in having mods with no controls? I thought, HA, that you were looking for that exact thing to NOT occur.

Apples and oranges now, Wes. The issue Griz brought up was in reference to karma comments. As for him not liking the terms, I do believe the only thing he need concern himself about would be the penalty for losing. :reddevil:

And as has been mentioned the "king" does not HAVE to do anything at all if he doesn't want to.... :IThankYou But honestly some days lopping off heads DOES sound attractive..... :sneaky:

Not too long ago a newbie member stated that she got a dragon from kevin dunn and that that dragon have AV and died. She then was dinged, by you, for something stupid and unrelated. At some point you stated that you had done business with kevin, but not the extent of that business.

So, are you NOW doing business with kevin? Were you doing business with kevin when you dinged the girl who got the dragon that died? Have you done business with kevin for a long time? Did you know he knew his dragons were EV positive? Were you trying to deflect negative attention from kevin by shutting up a newb? Were you abusing the mod status you bought?

You know me well enough to know that I'm not going to let this go. You should have just answered up the first time I asked. I suspect you were trying to deflect attention away from kevin which lead me down the road to wondering why you would do that which in turn lead me to the other questions I've asked in this post.

Now, it would seem to me, no one of consequence, that honest answers would be no problem for an upstanding guy like you, or like I thought you were. I would really hate to see you go the way matt did so, if you would be so kind, answer my questions honestly.

I swear Rich, I am seriously starting to wonder how many personalities you have. You attempt to be altruistic and issue an amnesty yet now you allude to lopping my head off for what? Challenging the hypocrisy? Rich, I have always had respect for you even if I disagreed with your stance. But, if you are suggesting the "penalty" is banning me then I reckon I would have to care in order for me to actually consider it a penalty. I can show you posts where you were ADAMENT about nailing people over retaliatory feedback yet here you are condoning it. THAT'S the hypocrisy that I am referring to.

Rich, you have mods that don't deserve it. You know it, I know it, heck, everyone on here knows it. If you want to allow them to continue then it's your house. While I do not buy into the doom and gloom of some of the naysayers of Fauna, I do firmly believe that your house is becoming more and more difficult to quantify it's worth. The very simple fact that you disregard the input from some of the more respected members here only showcases that fact.

Truly and respectfully speaking Rich, can you quantify what worth this site has anymore? A significant number of mods that I have spoken to agree with this and many of those do not plan on re-upping their benefactor membership. I would not take a Benefactor level if it was free. Why? The forums that I watch rarely if ever have anything worth wild to comment on. 90% of the BOI is a farce. While I still have the belief that the underlying premise of the BOI is valuable, it's becoming less and less each day. Whether you want to admit that or not is your issue but I firmly believe deep down you see the writing on the wall should you not make some changes. The difference between June of 2005 (when I joined) and now is dramatic and it's NOT for the better. And you know what the reason is Rich? You! You stopped caring and so did everyone else. If you don't respect this site then why should we?

Rich, is this site really what you envisioned how many years ago. I believe the old Rich, the one who actually cared, would be dismayed at what the site has become. I believe he would have been dismayed at someone like Ed being a moderator. That he would be dismayed at the fact that he is now defending the actions of someone like him vs condemning it.

It's like being in the zoo. If the zoo did not have walls to keep the monkeys in then everything, including the flamingos would soon be covered in the monkeys poo. Too bad that poo keeps landing on the people that I consider to be worth so much more than the monkeys.
